Greetings,Anybody got any advice on a specific mobo that has an agp slot? I posses a Gainward Bliss 7800gs, its a mega fast agp card and I'm dying to run it but I cannot for the life of me find a mobo that will support either dual or quad core and agp? Hi all,I had my system running well with FSX but now I have a problem. Everytime, just after takeoff FSX crashes and has to restart. It simply freezes and either presents the error checking dialog in Windows Vista or it presents me with a blue screen with crash dump and a tonne of hexidecimals garbage.Now the only things that have change in the last week since my system was working well is that I have had to disconnect my whole PC and move it to another room so there could be some reconnection issues (but I doubt this because everything else is running well) and I have installed the new nVidia 162.22 drivers where as I was using the 158.24 drivers.Therefore, if any of you…

Hi All (and esp. Sam)-I began the quest for performance with the purchase of an HP m8120n Media Center PC- too good of a deal to pass up locally. Since then it has evolved quite nicely.I'm still stuck with the HP BIOS on what is essentially an Asus P5B board- but I have made improvements elsewhere.Power supply replaced with Corsair 620 Modular- nice and quiet.The OS is Vista 32 Ultimate with all Aero disabled, indexing disabled and UAC disabled. I have an old 2001 gateway 1024x768 15'' monitor. I was thinking of getting a higher res monitor. Do you think it would make more sense to save up for a geforce 9800 when it comes out so I can use fsx in dx10 when it gets its dx10 makeover? Or will an 8800 suffice even with dx10 because fsx isnt gpu intensive? If an 8800 will do the job even with the new dx10 stuff ill just get a monitor because if I need dx10 by that time the 8800's should come down in price when a gpu that should have double the power hits the market.

The current situation is that not much new stuff works with Win 98. Most fs addons really requires Win XP. Thinking about using Win 98 for flightsimming is rather preposterous.Is it going the same way with Win XP so that for flightsimming you really must Windows Vista? I find that in several recent instances after having been on-line (IE7, WinXP SP2), and then quitting IE, that my desktop becomes unclickable. All I can do is click "Start", which brings up the first menu, but I can go no further than that, and the menu items (such as "log off" and "turn off computer") also don't work. The only solution is to reset the computer. Has anyone seen this before?Thanks, Bruce

For this motherboard, at least. I may not know overclocking but I do know computers and from what I've read and determined on my own, the P5N32-E SLI 680i board from Asus is a DOG when it comes to overclocking quads. They're super with duo's from what I've been able to tell.If I had a buck for every BSOD I got with this board I could pay for the replacement I ordered from Evga.I won't go into the details, suffice to say that I tried every combination I could think of and some others with guidance from experienced overclockers and I could not get the Q6600 G0 CPU up to 3G.I'm glad I'm not married any more, I'd have a xxxxxx of a time explaining this one. Hi AllI post this to hear if I am alone here.2 years ago I purchased my first CH Throttle Quadrant (TQ). After app. 10 month of use one of the levers started to be harder to move(more friction). It quickly got worse, and in a few days it was impossible to move that lever.Well - I returned it and got a new one for free on the guarantee.Now - after app. 10 month of use my new TQ start to react in the same way, and I am getting worried.Looking at the botton af the TQ, one of the screw-holes is covered by a Seal telling you not to break it, or the guarantee will be canceled. When trying to install Linux on a raid drive I encountered some concepts I never seen before i.e fakeraid true hw raid. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/FakeRaidHowtoWhat we supposedly get on a motherboard is fakeraid and true hw raid is supposedly better. That leeds to the question has anyone used true hw raid with FS and how do we know what we got? I never see this terms when reading specifications on mb and raid controller cards.

This may make some folks laugh here, but it's an honest question I don't know the answer to. After almost 5 years, I've reached the upgrade limit on my trusty ol' P4 3.2GHz system. With various tweaking and such, it has served me well. But it's time to move on. But....My old system has the SB Audigy card in it. It has a gameport connection. All my flightsim controllers (CH Yoke, FighterStick USB, Pro Throttle, etc) are USB and that is not a problem.
