Hi,I just wanted to comment on the banner I noticed up above, for this product: iWear VR920. http://flyvr920,com/. It looks very interesting.I just wish the resolution was higher than 640 X 480, and it had 6 DOF instead of only 3 DOF.I think this could be the product of the year (decade) if the resolution was at least 1024 X 768 and it incorporated 6 DOF. I would be willing to pay twice the suggested price if it had a higher resolution.

I am still a ways off before I get rid of my AGP MB. Are there any cards out there that would perform better than my X850XT 256MB AGP ?I am not unhappy...just trying to see if I still have any options...Looked at the HD2600XT 256 and 512 AGP...will I notice any difference ?Will I see a difference with an X1950XT ?I am not ruling Nvidia either. If I can notice an improvement I will go for one.P D950 o/c at 3.56 Ghz3 GB PC3200XP SP2Thanks for any opinions

I've had TrackIR 4 Pro (6DOF) for about a year now. Granted, I haven't simmed a whole lot in the last year due to spending time/money on my PPL. Which, I got btw..;) So, now that I have my license but can't really afford to fly as much as I want, I'm headed back to my sim. Which brings me to my TrackIR stuff. I've tried tweaking a few setting, tried setting my chair higher/lower to emulate where I sit and the view I have in the real C172, and I just can't seem to get it right. I've had to map a button on my yoke to shut TrackIR off so that I can actually "fly". I seem to have a heck of a time holding altitude, flying patterns, x-wind landings etc with TrackIR runni…

Replacing my e4300 cpu with a e6850 cpu. Have a 8800GTX card so what I'm asking is in FS9 (thats 9 not X) where would be the areas that I would notice a difference? Does texture loading and mesh come from the cpu or GPU?

  8. I have a self-built system based on the 875P Neo chipset. Processor is Intel P4 3.0GHz. It was built back in Jan 2004.Booting up this morning a message was displayed saying the CMOS was incorrect. On further investigation neither of my two SATA drives are recognised in the bootup options - just a IDE CD drive. The drives are connected okay and it seems inconceivable that both have failed.I'm guessing that something on the MSI MS-6758 mobo has failed - probably the SATA controller. Given the age of this system I'm finding it difficult to find a suitable replacement. Can anyone recommend a suitable alternative? I'm in no hurry to buy a new system and even when I do this syst…

I brought up my processor with the above PC Wizard and cannot figure out what it is telling me. My specs are: 6600 conroe core duo @2.4mhz, ati radeon x1600/1650, 4gig of DDR2-800 ram and 250gig Hitachi HD..The Wizard is telling me the following about my processor:Frequency: 2400MHz - (Current 1601.35MHz)Is this telling me that I'm only running FS9 at 1.6 Mhz and not the full potential of the processor which is 2.4MHz?Regards,jack

  10. I just checked to see what price Future Shop was selling their ATI X1950 256 Pro card for...and lo and behold, they have delisted it. I then went to Best Buy, and can't find it either!!!!I bet that ATI has stopped selling this card because of how incredibly good this part was/is and it is impeding the sale of the newer cards. This part certainly was a 'sleeper card' for sure, especially with it being run by the Cat 7.10 driver suite. If you want or were thinking of getting an X1950 Pro...I suggest you find one somewhere while you still can and BUY IT! :)Mitch

Hi all, just want to know if there are a couple folks out there still using the Geforce 6800GT card on their rigs, and what drivers work the best for them? I currently use the 91.47 series and I know those are outdated drivers, however the newer 163 series drivers just dont seem to visually look better. Any advise? I have not searched for new drivers for some time now. Thanks,Bill

Hi,I'm thinking of taking the step towards Windows Vista and FSX and DX10 from WinXP and FS9 and I need some advice what hardware (if any) I should/must upgrade to have a good balance between performance/looks in FSX. In FS I mainly fly LDS's 767 with FS2Crew and I'm using Active Sky.Today my hardware looks like this:Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2,4 GHz @ 2,7 GHz2 GB Corsair Extreme RAMSATA-300 Raid0 disk setATI Radeon X1900 XTX 512 MBThoughts I have are:- does FSX benefit more from upgradring the CPU or the GFX card?- does FSX take advantage of mult core CPUs...upgrade to a Quad CPU?- if upgrading the GFX card, should I go for a 8800GTX Ultra 768 MB or a less expensive but as …

I've got an 6600 core duo with an ati 1650 graphics with 512megs of and 2 gig of DDR2-800 PC2-6400 ram. Is it worth it to upgrade to an additional 2gig of 800 ram dual channel or just buy a 8800GT graphics card at 512gig and call it a day? With the added ram, would I get more FPS running FS9 and or FSX? Motherboard is Asus P5B-E.jack

  18. Hello HW gurus out there.I have following dilemma : go SLI or get a new processor.First my system : Processor : Intel E6700 @ stock speed 2.66GHz Memory : 3 GB @ 667 mainboard : P5NSLI from ASUS Videocard : Nvidia 8800GTS 640MB HD : 2x500 GB not in RAID (FSX and OS each on its own HD) flatscreen : resolution 1680x1050 sound : soundblaster XF-I Xtreme Audio OS : Vista x64I am well aware that the more pixels you have, the more work and the more memory you need. Especially if one wants Anti Alliassing. So where would the bottleneck be in my system (don't tell me Vista :-) ) ?I tested DX10 in Acceleration, and I am happy with it (bloom on all the t…

I have Dell Quad Core with dual 8800 GTX's cards. Right now I have dual monitors (1 card for each monitor). The second monitor is set up ONLY to show the throttles quadrant, FMC and ATC text box. It seems a waste to devote 1 card to that.Question: If I use the maxi-vista set up (with a spare computer), will I expect dramatic increases in FPS? I get around 20 FPS with the LD767 - but I'd love more so I can crank up more scenery of course. Anyone use Maxi-vista and can report findings?Paul

... aside from it's inability to handle 3850 x 1024 (thus allowing the use of the Matrox TripleHead2Go system plus DX10, has anyone any feedback on the differences between the ATI X1950XTX and the 8800series cards? I've been using this card since FSX came out - and I've yet to fault it. I read all kinds of posts about nVidia issues, particularly "blurries" and continuous AA/AF and driver problems, yet I hear nothing about this ATI card. I fly the US west coast constantly, with most settings at or relatively close to maximum and I think my graphics are superb... I cannot believe I'm the only flyer with this card.Anyone care to express some thoughts???

I'm contemplating adding Vista home premium to a desktop PC which has WinXP home already installed. The question is which is the best way to do it for my needs?I ask this question as I have four identical Seagate Barracuda 320GB SATA II drives. One has WinXP O/S installed, two are set up in RAID 0 and the other is still unused (intended either for back up or for Vista O/S.I also run a LAN connection between this desktop and another desktop. Both of these computers run WinXP home SP2.Obviously I can squeeze in a partition on drive C for Vista but I think Vista & WinXP on a 320GB drive might leave me a little tight for space. So, what I had in mind instead was to install…
