allI installed fsx and fsx accel and have a very strange issue, i am running 32 bit vista and have the most up to date drivers for my joystick (s), one is a logitech fore 3d pro and the other a saitek evoBoth have the same issue. I installed the accel program and the most recent accel sdk.I cannot take off or go up or down with the any input, I can roll, and yaw. all other buttons work fine.I have readjusted the defaults for the controller and all is ok. Here is the strange part, when i fly a mission, it works perfectly, but when i try free flight I cannot takeoff , climb descend ( you get the idea!)I tried to repair etc but nothing works. Hello everyone I decided to switch my cpu to a Core 2 Dou Im thinking of getting the E6600 or E6700 or even a 6800 However on my last post they told me you can get 50-65% increase in performance in these babiesif you overclock them! Can any one guide me to a site or give me instructions on how to effectively over-clock safely so that My MS-FX simming experience can be top notch. Also if there is any motherboard in particular that would allow me to do this? Just upgraded to a Q6600 and have confirmed that all four cores are showing up in Windows Task Manager. If I run a few different desktop apps or a game like the Crysis Demo, I see all four cores having a play, but when I run FSX it only uses the last two cores.Ahah you say, someone has been playing with AffinityMask! Well, I have tried affinity mask = 15 (ie. all four cores enabled) and even deleted my FSX.CFG file to let FSX rebuild a new one, but the result is the same - just the last two cores being used. Interestingly, if I set AffinityMask to 1, I can get FSX to run on one core, but at no stage can I get it to run on more than two.Any suggestions?Gary

I got a new pc after my old one began to crash on me with fs9.Visually, results are very good. The real test was with VFR Photographic Scenery UK, which is based on aerial photography. Now even with an Airbus doing 200 kts or more at 8000' , the textures are fully loaded, with hardly any lag as the plane speeds ahead.One thing is a real bummer. It's the cloud textures in FS9, and I'm using Active Sky 6.5. I feel like I'm back in 2000, flying with Flight Unlimited 3, where the clouds had a banding effect when flying through them. It's like a hazy layer cake effect with grey bands flashing past. This shouldn't happen with my specs, unless some settings are not right. On my …

I've had Fsx working, and fairly well at that, since i bought it several months ago. As soon as i installed fsx acceleration i cant get past the splash screen, because of a graphics card shader issue.I have a rubbish intel gma 915 but its never stopped me using fsx before. why now?Thanks

I've built p.c.'s since '87 or so. My current rig is a E6850 overclocked to 4.2ghz on water and an 8800GTX, 3 GB of 1066 ram overclocked.I have a Samsung 20WMGX2 20 inch LCD.Problem is, I get the 30 frames with 'normal' autogen settings on my monitor (yes, with drivers for monitor) at 1680 x 1050. Soon as I up the autogen to extreme or whatever, I get 17.Now here's what's weird:If I hook up the p.c. to my 60" HDTV at home, at normal autogen, and in INCREASED resolution (1920x1080) I get 50 frames. Soon as I up the autogen to extreme or whatever, I get 40.That got me thinkin.....I tried an old CRT monitor, and wham....same frames as the t.v.Anybody else having problems …

I have a DELL XPS Gen 4 with about 15 hardware devices attached for FS9, e.g. GoFlight modules, CH Yoke and pedals, MATROX Triplehead, USB hubs, etc. I am amazed it still works as well it does, indeed, flawlessly. Somewhat ridiculously, perhaps, I am thinking about adding even more (!) devices but am concerned that I will blow it up or that the sim will just freeze. Is there any software or hardware I can get that would show me how hard the PSU is already working and what additional power remains available for any additional devices? Is there anything else about the PC I should review carefully before trying to add any more hardware for FS?Thanks!JS

I had one of those slide under keyboards that did not work with the new saitek yoke so-I removed the drawer-took the top 6 screws out of the saitek and put some longer ones on to hold it under the desk. Ever since I installed Acceleration (which updated DirectX), I've been having problems with a 'twitchy display'. It's horizontal size fluctuates (it 'twitches').I tried updating my nvidia driver to the latest version and that actually made it worse. I did a system restore in the hopes that it would undo the updates to DirectX but it didnt.Does anyone know of any way (other than reinstalling XP and everything) to restore my DirectX to the way it was before Acceleration/SP2?thanks for your help.

Hey guys, So, i got a PCIE video card from Nividea and another one from nvidiea on the way witch is just PCI. I just wona know how to configure it so i can have one long image, Ive done it with two by just telling it to extend desktop, but i have a feeling it only does it for the one video card(where both monitors are pluged into). When i get the 3rd, will it recognise and expand across all 3 or do i need a seperate option or software? any help is perfect. (also wona do it for GTR2)

This is my first post in avsim. I have 2 video card, one is a Nvid 7300GS PCIE with 2 monitors on it and a 3rd monitor that is going to be connected to a NVideo PCI card. on the PCIE card i can enable extended desktop and FS goes across both, but i wona have it across all 3. One of the recommended Vista updates in the Accelleration readme was the microcode reliability update. I followed the link in the readme file, downloaded it and installed it. Then I realised, a while ago Phil Taylor had made a blog about a microcode reliability update so I checked it out:http://blogs.msdn.com/ptaylor/archive/2007...processors.aspxTo my surprise his link led me to a different update. I downloaded it but when I tried to install it I got a message saying 'this update does not appply to your system'. I have Windows Vista 32bit and an intel quad core CPU and yes I am sure I downloaded the 32bit version. So why do you think I cannot install this update?Thanks
