Absolutely marvelous card. One of the best buys in my entired computing history. Not only it reached such smoothness and speed in FS9, but it also delivers superb quality. Something that ATI cannot even measure with. I am so sad that I until now used ATI and thought it gives more speed and same quality. SHOULD NOT HAVE. Nvidia with it's 8xS setting gives pretty much this result:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=265904&page=Keep in mind that the shots are resized and compressed to meet the forum limits. Originals just kick some serious ***...Nvidia just killed ATI from my perspective...

Ok, I think I've got my choice of motherboard narrowed down to 3...- ASUS Maximus Formula Special Edition... Seems to be the winner on tomshardware at stock clockspeed, but clearly loses at max overclocking...- Giga-byte X38-DQ6.. Not the best at stock speeds, but clear winner at most overclocked test.. Supports DDR2 ram only..- Giga-byte X36T-DQ6.. Same as above, except with DDR3 RAM support...I'm looking to put water-cooling on it and overclocking, so I'm leaning towards the Giga-bytes (obviously), which leads me to another question....I'm not sure yet if I'm going to do 2GB or 4GB ram, but... Would it be more worthwhile for me to get the DDR3 or DDR2 ram? (which w…

I'd like to get my controls as realistic as possible. Also, I am using the Y rotation lever as my elevator trim, if anyone has sensitivity/null recommendations for that as well I'd like to hear it. Are a Vista dual boot bug free and reliable to use? I just bought the Saitek Pro Fligh Yoke System and so far am impressed with the feel of it but i have some question about programming it.1) I want to assign the the 6 buttons on the throttle quad to control autopilot. The AutoPilot Engage/Disengage works fine, but i want 3 of the other buttons to engage the heading, nav, and alt modes, and the remaining two to move the heading bug. The options in the FSX setup let me set it so that when i hit the button it engages, for example, alt hold mode. That is it holds that altitude that the plane is at when the button is hit, not the alt set in the autopilot. Similarily the heading mode, when engaged holds current heading, no…

Hi Everyone,I'm having problems installing any ATI catalyst driver past CAT 7.7. I'm using PCI-E Radeon X1650 PRO with Win Vista Ultimate 32 (4GB of RAM). Since Cat 7.7, I can't install any driver from that version till Cat 7-10. It got locked up at right where it stays it's "detecting hardware" (Sometime for more than 1-hr). It has never got passed this phase not even when I uninstall ALL ATI related files from my system. Another issue is after uninstalling and rebooting, when the systems comes up, it should be detecting a "new hardware", but this is not happening. After all these hassle, as soon as i install CAT 7.7, then no problem at all, so this version is what I'm s…

After lots of fits and starts, I've finally finished assembling my new PC. It's the first time I've ever built a computer from scratch. My objective is to get as close to a 4GHz overclock as air cooling will allow. I'm hoping this will give satisfactory FSX performance until FS11 comes out. At the moment I'm formatting/partitioning the HDDs so I haven't yet installed FSX or done any type of benchmarks -- those are what weekends are for! I especially want to thank everyone in this forum who helped me, particularly Gary, Sam, and Seadog (if you're still around). I owe you some cold beverages if I see you in Seattle next weekend! Here is my current configuration: CPU: …

I have never, ever had so many problems with trying to install an OS on my system!I previously purchased an OEM "Full Install Vista Home Premium" and after getting my Acceleration pack decided to install the Vista alongside my XP MCE2005! The dual boot seemed like a good idea and after installing Vista on it's own partition along side my XP, everything seemed just fine, both OS's booted independently through the Boot Manager that Vista installed. I decided to remove the FSX from the XP installation and reinstall it in Vista! Everything seemed to go well and the new FSX install and the Acceleration add-on installed and activated without any problems, a fast flight confirme…

  23. Guys,Download it - www.nhancer.comThen do the following:1. Find the MS Flight Simulator 2004 entry.2. Press duplicate (this disables the original)3. Remove the new duplicate. (this stops the "AA:EnhanceOnly" issue)4. Create a new from scratch profile, point it to FS9.exe and make your settings.AA should work after doing this, does for me after not working at all until this new version came out.

And then my machine resets. Is anyone else experiencing this kind of thing, or do I have a hardware problem (nvidia 7600GT)?

  25. For those thinking about buying either a new nVidia or ATI card...I would suggest you read this article and make sure that if you do buy a card, that it DOES support the DX10 update (if DX10 is what motivates you). Otherwise, you might be flushing money down the toilet.Mitch
