System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etc

Hi guys,After a successful first attempt to build a PC I moved on to the fun(but somewhat frustrating) part. I am now running prime 95( as I type) on my I5 2500k @4.8. I have set my Vcore to 1.38 but hopefully I can set it lower and still maintain stability at that clock speed. Temp so far are hovering in the very low 60s.I'm guessing I will attempt 5ghz just for fun, but I don't really want to push the vcore too high for everyday use.To my point. In "Nick's" guide he mentions that you should always optimize(Windows)and install software(FSX) at default clock speed. Doest this apply to this new chip? I'm guessing that most of this would not stress the CPU too much therefor…

My new parts coming will be my first build with only SATA optical drives/hard drives.Is there jumpers like there was when I used IDE for my optical drives? Or can I just plug the sata cables and power cables in to all 4 drives and call it good?

Hello guys,I'm trying to push my E8500 as high as possible on my Asus P5QL pro and the only way I can get it to boot past 4Ghz is by setting the PCI frequency to 102. My FSB is at 422 with a 9.5 multi.With those settings I can boot into Windows and run Prime with max temp of 52-53 degrees.Are there any negative effects of running Pcie higher than the "usual" 100 ?My Gfx card is a GTX 460 768MB.I think my MB is probably at it's max, but it's nice to run the chip at about 4ghz untill I upgrade.Thanks

Odd question I suppose, after all the reading I have done, I may have already ansered the question. I have a AM955 @ 3.9 Ghz, and was wondering if going to a 1090t and overclocking to same speed, would it make any difference. I've already made up my mind: For now I'm not going with SSD for FSX. Oh well I'll have to wait the minute load hehe! But I am going to buy a smaller (64GB) SSD for the OS only. I received all my parts for my upgrade and will likely put this together tomorrow (my first time putting a PC together.. :Praying: ) I started to look at the board and read the manual and was wondering about the TPU and EPU switches. Other than enabling ACHI, is there anything else I need to do have the motherboard work "nicely" with my SSD? And sorry if this is a dumb question, but do I plug the SSD into the sata 6gbps or the sata 3gbps port? Also is the 6 backwards compatible?

I am planning a Sandybridge build next month and have a question about SSD's.I currently have Windows7 and some of the major stuff by Earth Simulations, GEX, Active Sky, Meaga Scenery, Flight 1 etc on a Crucial C300 SSD attached to a 6GB controller and fsx on another C300 also attched to sata 6.I have managed to buy another C300 (off a mate) and as my install of fsx currently only has 19GB of free space left and the C drive 39.5GB I was planning on either running two C300 in Raid 0 on a marvell controller (on a new B3 Sandybridge Board) and the C drive on the intel controller, or just both C300 with fsx split between the two with the large scenery add ons etc on one and t…

But first of all I want to remark that I won't overlocking anything (I have never done it, I haven't got any idea about it and I won't do it ;) ).I have got the graphic card from my old PC - it is Gainward GeForce GTS 250 512 MB. Hello. My set of rudder pedals are not controlling the rudder. Instead they're controlling the throttles. How can I fix this problem?

I just did a full reinstall and am trying to get all my controls working.Slow process.My toe brakes on CH petals apply brakes but also work the elevator.Can't see where that is assigned anywhere.Am running it thru FSX not FSUIPC,like I always did.Thanks for any help.Ron
