A few preliminaries:A. The following system was purchased on February 10, 2007, Assembled, and has been running just fine since that time (How time flies!). Specfications are attached. The only thing I have changed since experiencing the problem I describe below is to update to the new 270.61 NVIDIA drivers. With display sliders maxed out and at KJFK with the PMDG 747 and ASE weather, movement is smooth as silk. However, I really did not notice any problem with the previous drivers.B. I realize that there are more opinions as to what temperatures should be than ways to sharpen a knife, and that what I am seeing is above normal for some folks and normal for others. However…

Well, unfortunately I had to RMA my Gigabyte GTX480 SOC due to artifacting and freezing in many environments (stress tools and games). Nevermind, while I patiently wait for my replacement card to arrive, I thought to tune up my PC case by adding minor touches here and there. When assembling it, a month ago, I didn't have the time to go through all the positive/negative pressure literature so I installed all fans by intuition. Good day everyone,I have run into a problem recently and have had absolutely no luck in solving it. I recently purchased a new monitor and after plugging it in, ran into trouble in FS9. Graphic detail was terrible, frame rates in the single digits, etc. I soon discovered that, under the "Hardware" tab in Settings, that my graphics card was no longer listed next to "Device Name". Also, a number of options had either disappeared or were no longer clickable, such as Hardware Rendering Options, Cloud Detail, Terrain Detail and Water Effects. I have tried everything I can possibly think of to remedy this situation, such as installing new drivers, rebuilding FS9 config, etc and…

Hi folks, I will get my SB upgrade in the week after easter. I´ll consist of an i5-2500k, Asus P8P67 Pro motherboard and 4 GB of Mushkin Enhanched Blackline 1600MHz. Everything else will be left as it is in my sig.But I don´t know how to upgrade. Is it just old MOBO out, new MOBO with CPU and RAM in, rewiring and that´s it or do I have to watch out for something with my HDD and or OS?I hope someone can enlighten me.

He also mentioned some codes (two digit) like A3 or something while in POST.In BIOS the ram is set to auto, but there is not an option for 1.5v, only 1.35, 1.6 and 1.8. The RAM is rated at 1.5 I checked the specs online. In Windows, with the "control center ins…

I am due for a PC Build. I have stopped simming cause my Core 2 Duo is not able to run my FSX with all my addons. Been waiting to build a new machine.Looking at the i7 2600K. But reading about all these BSODs is not encouraging. So for all those folks who have OCed to atleast 4.5Ghz and don't have these BSODs or other serious problems, could y'all please post your processor/MB/Memory/PSU/Cooler and your OC and Vcore settings? This would help me short list what I need to buy for a new build. Thanks in advance.Manny

Guys, does anyone have this mouse and could possibly test something for me?If I run Memtest, while the dongle is connected to the board, I usually, but not always, get a crash. If I disconnect the dongle, all is well. And I have two dongles, which would rule out a broken dongle. Also tried starting without a dongle, and then connecting while Memtest is running, and in 95% cases it would freeze.I never heard of mainboard and mouse incompatibility!!??

It boots then shuts off the boots fine. I change it back to 1333 and it works how it should. I even did the auto overclock software and it leads the same thing when it overclocks the ram and cpu

  13. Hi,I am looking for anyone here in AVSIM or elsewhere in the FSX community who is personally familiar with working with the MSI X58 Pro-E motherboard. I have found much of what I need from a number of google hits, but the information is a bit scanty when it comes to working in this bios to establish a high and stable overclock. It is the peculiarities of this MSI board I need to know in advance that makes it different than the other manufacturer bios I am more familiar with. If you have delved into this MSI board yourself, please let me know so I can gain your particular advice before passing it on to another. I just have a couple of questions I can't find the answer for.…

(ie. no signal).I tried to reset & that didn't work. I tried the off button and that didn't work either. I had to disconnect the power at the back to turn it off. I then switched it back on and fans etc all ran but... nothing on the screen. No bios, no windows... nothing. Initially the DRAM_LED light came on & so I pulled the RAM out and then placed it back in. Still nothing and the DRAM_LED only lights once the pc starts and does not co…

Well...finally, one good turn deserves another. After almost 5 years of FSX beating up on every processor released by both Intel and AMD, I can confirm that the magical i7 2600k slaps FSX around like a Catholic school boy. Hey there everybody. I'm trying to find out what is the cause behing this crappy issue i'm having. It happens not just with FSX. But I'll try and explain it the best way I can. Every now and then my hard drive(I don't know which one cause I have 3) will lag when trying to even try to open up Firefox or when I open up My Computer to explore the drives. The hard drive(s) will lag for around 3-5 seconds then there is a clicking noise then it will load. It also happens when I'm flying around in FSX. The sim will freeze and the hard drives do their thing(lag and click) and then FSX crashes to the desktop. Is that a drive problem or, what my guy who built my computer s…

My i7 2600k is overclocked to 4.5 ghz and after running prime or intel burn test, my Max temperature (using real temp) on the hottest (3rd) core is 75. I read on the intel website that tcase for my CPU is 72.6 Celsius. Do my temperatures from realtemp mean that I should back off my overclock or get a better cooler? Or does realtemp measure something other than tcase bacuse I use gigabyte easytune 6 and my temperatures are around 10 degrees cooler than realtemp? Please help. Thanks.
