Hi,I am wondering what a Overclock is doing for you or better say, what can I expect.I'm playing with my new Sandy Bridge 2600K on a MSI P67 board and these boards have a OC button (OC Genie II) and pushing this one is setting my clock to 4200 instead of the standard 3400 and givin me 2 to 3 more FPS in FSX.I have read a lot of post here on AVSIM about OC and seems to me that the most of the 2600K owners OC there CPU and GPU.Is there something wrong to get only a increase of 2 to 3 FPS or is that normal ro expect?By the way, I also have a GTX480 but planned to buy the new MSI GTX580 Lighting.I started flying now in 3D Vision and that is realy awesome... a must seen for ev…

Hii have a big problem with my ASUS Soundmax driver.My board:ASUS P6T DeLuxe V2,latest BIOS versionI cannot delete it and i cannot reinstall it.I have an icon wit a red cross saying "you cannnot use soundmax settings"Tried everything,booted into safe mode,tried to delete---nothing.Downloaded a new driver,during install comes " cannot install,unable to compare versions".I had today two Blackscreens and i relate them to an driver issue.Graphic cards driver is the latest Nvidia,chipset drivers also.Any idea?ThanksMichael

What have you bought for Flight Sim and thought I can make it better, here is a couple shots of my CH yoke I built a kneeboard with some wood, painted it black and stuck it on with some of the craziest glue I could find, its good for writing on but I really like my mini keyboard on it so I don't have to reach over the top of my yoke anymore for KB commands or when typing and browsing online.

I clocked her to 4.8 and Prime 95, stable temps where mid 60C during the test. I set the vCore to 1.35 and OCed to 5.0 and primed it for 4 hours and I got a blue screen saying WIndows needed to shut down or something. How do I knopw what happened, I need to know if it was my temps or what. Should I shy away from 5.0 ghz with this chip, seems very very high though I'd like to have 5.0. Im running XFX 750 Single Rail PSU, 8 gig DDR3 Ram 9 9 9 9 24 @ 1600 mhz + GTX 480 and the Noctuna D-14 HS. let know what u guys think, thanks!

Thanks to a lot of the users on this forum I'm now able to enjoy Orbx PNW - loaded textures (at speed), very dense autogen, and payware aircraft hovering around 30 fps (yeah I had to check LOL!)I also run AA at 8XSQ with nvidia inspector and it really helps with the tree shimmer.I haven't even overclocked yet ;) I almost don't even need it... about the only low fps I get is in Portland/Seattle, with the Flight1 Mustang, in the VC... and that's around 15-18. So I have this temptation to drop my plans to get the Corsair 650D and a water cooling system and pick up an R/C glider instead... perhaps something like a ParkZone Radian. A more custom project like a fiberglass scale model (DG-1000 for example) would be great and fulfill my need to customize and modify, but they're all too heavy (grams per wing area is significantly more than the radian's 21 g/dm2). Well my trusty old client computer where I run all of my addons is going to die a horrible death soon. The last 3 times I have booted the computer I can hear the HD reading arm tick 4 or 5 times and after running the PC for a few hours I sense there are delays when trying to access a program.I was wondering if there was a program to image the HD so that I could swap the data onto another HD or SSD (which is better IMO) and start where I left off.Any thoughts?
