Dear All,I have decided that its time to purchase a New Desktop, but this time I want to get it right first time, without any regret. I must confess that I am relying completely on your opinions as I am not 100%comfortable with all the aspects and requirements for a top knotch desktop.I basically would like a desktop that will be able to run FS and Multiple addons, smoothly and without stuttering or compromise on graphics. Somethings that will give flawless performance and framerates?I have always ran FS2004 (FS9) but am thinking now about FSX?I have a budget of around £1000I have been looking into the Alien-ware Aurora, as a possibility.I would greatly appreciate any ge…

My problem is a bit different than Stephen's. My PC decides to go to sleep by itself. At least I think that's what it's doing.Everything turns off but I can restore the previous state by just pressing spacebar.Doesn't this sound like a PSU issue or is it a problem with the P67A mobos?I've already set power plan to high perf, and told it to never shut off hard disks etc etc in advanced settings.

  7. After many days of research and reading, after having considered all restrictions set by my local retailer (some selected brands only available, etc), I'm ready to order about what you see in my signature. My problem, as the topic suggests, has to do with the proper choice of RAM in terms of frequency and latency.I'm not concerned with RAM performance that much. This benchmark is quite self-explanatory about actual, "tangible" difference in performance between different types of RAM. What really bothers me is the possible barrier, a not wisely chosen RAM, may impose over any CPU overclocking attempt. So I kindly ask: (1) Am I ok with a 1333MHz DD3 CL7 1.65V RAM in terms …

By overclocking? In light of some recent posts and the latest sandy bridge/fsx craze, I've been wondering what speed is safe and won't be detrimental to the cpu? Am I ok running my processor at 4.5 or should I tone it down a little? Hoping some experts can weigh in. Thanks.

  9. I had posted earlier that I was having OC issues with my replacement revision 3 Asus Sabertooth P67 MB. Well, I just received a replacement for the replacement and am having the same issue. All the settings in the bios are the same but the system does not rev up to speed when taxed. I was getting over 30 fps with the PMDG J41 with my original board but am now only getting about 15fps. Before when loading and using FSX I could hear the fans rev up when the system was under load. Now I get nothing. I had a nice stable 4.8 ghz OC on my original board. I'm wondering if there is an issue with the latest BIOS that came with the B3 revision boards. Is anyone having simil…

Hello, anybody having issues with random reboots with their ASUS P8P67 B3 MBs? I'm 15 minutes into Flightsim and bam, system reboot with no warning, no bluescreen. Its like you are flying along and pressing the power button until the system shuts down and reboots. I've tested the ram and no errors, have updated BIOS 1503, vid card latest drivers 270.61. I've been using RealTemp GT and the max temp I ever got was 62c on one core. In FSX I average 45 -55c and idle at 31c for core temps. I was asking some techs at Compusa (where I got the board) and they suggested either RMA for the board and just get a new one (exact same model) or go with another manufacterer like Gi…

My system specs are also below in my siggy line. Have I created a bottleneck with the CPU to the MB? Is the pipeline too small on an AM2+ board to support an AM3 chip? I have NOT flown FSX yet on it or tried anything strenuous, just the overall speed seems a little slower, and that is bothersome.Any thoughts?

The sites look legit but this is definitely not what I wanted. This problem did not exist say 2 weeks ago.Any ideas?

Hello,One of my current sticks (listed below) went kaput. I am looking for a new triple channel kit. Right now, only one CL6 kit is listed on Newegg. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231352Is anyone using this stuff? I have never bought G.Skill memory.Back when I put this system together, the consensus was 1600 at CL6 was faster than 1800 at CL7.I saw the Corsair Dominator that is 2000 at CL8: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145318 It has a fan or something with it and I am not sure if I have room for that. Also, since the stock voltage is 1.65, I am not sure if I'll be able to keep my CPU at 4 GIG.Any suggestions?

  24. Greetings,I was using FSX and decided to take a look at the activity monitor and noticed that the FSX process was taking 100% in one of the cores and the other one was very much idling. I know that FSX is mediocre with multicore processors. So I have a question is there a way to tell FSX that my computer has a dual core processor? I am running FSX SP2 and my computer specs are in the signature. FSX Performance is good as I get 25 FPS (locked via FSX built in limiter) in most areas. I think that also the fact that FSX is running in a single core is activating intel's turbo boost technology which produces a lot of heat. Many thanks!

  25. Anyone know anything about this? It seems like maybe the mobo is checking the overclocking to ensure stability, that's just my guess. So again what it does is, I press the power button and it turns on for about 5-8 seconds, then turns off for a few seconds, and then back on at which time it boots up. My specs are below.Thanks.
