I am looking for some advice on wireless headsets. I have a 10+ year old Logitech G930 wireless headset. The headset is actually great, comfortable and fits over my glasses well. The problem is that the headset cuts in and out all of the time due to interference....this is a know issue with this headset. I have tried the various suggestions online with limited success. Question: Can anyone recommend a wireless headset that does not have any interference issues on the 2.4GHz frequency and is comfortable over glasses. Must have an integrated mic. thanks.

  4. With my current setup I get decent performance, but what would be a better upgrade - keep the cpu & mobo I have and buy a 6600xt, or upgrade to a new cpu and motherboard and keep my current GPU? P3D v5.3 with OrbX Global&Vector, Freemesh2, lots of scenery, i7 8700k @ 4.5hz, 32gb, 8gb AMD 580x Windows 10 Even with all the scenery, mesh and AlphaIndia ai traffic I get acceptable frame rates.

Why do motherboard manufacturers insist on generating a multitude of programs that we don't need and often installs them without our knowledge? Just found Patriot Viper software on my hard drive, that apparently Asus installs without our knowledge. Why? God knows! If you have a recent Asus system have a look, will probably be there. Armory Crate seems quite useful, so why provide AI Suite 3 in addition, that isn't really needed any more. And GameFirst, that messes about with your power plans. Even found Disney Plus, god knows who put that there. 🙄

Hi, I know this has probably been asked a load of time already, but as MSFS is a moving target, what CPU is best for the game? Intel i9-10900KF 3.7GHz 10 core, 20 thread Intel i9-10900 3.7GHz 10 core BOX Intel i9-11900 3.5GHz 8 core, 16 thread The 11900 is the later version but the 10900 has a faster clock speed and more cores. Im not sure that MSFS uses all the cores currently, but would DX12 make a difference to this? I also plan to run Air Hauler 2, which would run at the same time as MSFS, so would extra cores help with assigning different programs to them? Thanks

OK, please hear me out…I am downsizing my living situation and will have much less room for computer gear (Sigh…) So here’s my question: Does anyone here fly with MS2020 using a 17" gaming laptop? Sure, the move is currently to 32" screens and blazing desktops, but I just won’t have the room…There are some decent deals out there right now on gaming laptops with excellent components and beautiful screens…And, I will almost certainly be sitting closer to the laptop than I am my monitor…I will welcome any opinions or suggestions! Thanks…

Finally, after months of messing about, I was today ready to fire up my new rig. 12900K 32gb GSkill DDR5 EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Gaming. New monitor too. Exciting stuff. However, whenever I fire up a new rig there's a degree of trepidation, wouldn't be the first time I've had issues to fix. And yes, sure enough, no Display Port signal to the monitor. Tried the usual tricks to no avail. Tried a HDMI cable to no avail. Noticed the EVGA cards fans were at max RPM and none of its rgb LED's on. Immediately suspected the infamous "red LED of death" issue that plagued some EVGA 3090 cards, but no LED lit on the card. Deciding the issue was probably the c…

  10. On my system, I have 64 GB @ 5200MHz which is limited to 4000MHz max speed due to BIOS, a friend of mine is to build a new system (similar to mine) and asked me for guidance, unfortunately, I'm not familiar with this and I would appreciate community help to provide him with good advice. He will run his PC only for flight simulation and he is not sure what to choose between these two options. A) 32 GB XPG Lancer RGB DDR5 6000MHz (2x16GB) native speed 6000MHz and current max speed 6000MHz. B) 64 GB XPG Lancer RGB DDR5 6000MHz (4x16GB) native speed 6000MHz and current max speed 4000MHz. I'm upgrading my computer and got a new case to put it all in (Corsair 4000D). This is my first case that supports the possibility of a vertical GPU. I like this for aesthetics, cooling, and to support the weight of the graphics card. I have a RTX 3090 on an Asus Z690-E motherboard. My first go with a Corsair 300 mm riser PCIE 3.0 x16 riser (they almost all seem to be PCIE 3.0 x16), the computer would not boot with a motherboard error code for the GPU. I plugged the GPU straight in to the motherboard and it booted fine. So on to the thoughts and questions: 1. This motherboard has 3 PCIE x16 4.0 slots...a gen 3, gen 4, and gen 5. The gen 5 is the closest to…

I asked this in one of my other threads but as that was regarding a different issue, most of you might not have read it. So here's hoping someone has some pointers as I'm not one for messing about too much in the BIOS. I'm now using the ASUS TUF Gaming Z690-Plus WiFi D4 and Intel Core i5-12400 The UEFI/BIOS is a rabbit warren of settings, so if anyone has any tips on what I should change from default, please chip in (pardon the pun!). General as well as specific MSFS tips welcome. I've found that enabling XMP causes CTDs in MSFS every time so I've had to leave that alone.

In short, I have a good 'ol Intel i7-2700k that I am OC to 4.8GHz. I Notice using CPU-Z that it will drop down to 1600MHz depending on what I am doing and that is great, not always pegged to the max. Cooler temps/longer life (Ha, it's going on what 10 years now!) Anywho, I just overclocked an AMD Phenom ii 1090t to 4GHz but it is always at 4GHz. Can I somehow have that "scale"as well? Some setting in BIOS?

Has anybody with the Z690 Hero found the BIOS speaker header? Or have Asus decided to dispense with it now? We have the Q-Codes of course, so no big deal, but I do tend to add a speaker in my builds usually.

  17. Hi: I'm seriously thinking about to upgrade my old machine (i7 930+nvidia 970) this year. Don't get me wrong, my intention isn't ask you evey single part of the perfect computer. I would ask you about, as I put in the title, if you think that, with a budget of 1000€, would be possible set up a Pc exclusively for using MSFS with the next requirements: No need monitor, nor SSD HD (right now I have enough HDs that could use in the new pc) Only 1080p, not interested in higher res. I don't actually want to use VR in the long term. No overclocking... no tweaks, please... And now, the most important point: Be able to use TrackIR in a solid range of …

  18. Using DDR4 3200 CL22, they got an average of 81.58 FPS. But upgrading that to DDR4 3600 CL16 gives 95.77 FPS! I didn't realise that would make such a huge difference.

  19. The unexpected has happened - my add-ons folder in MSFS is almost full! My MSI Mag X570 motherboard has dual x16 slots, one of which houses the GPU and the other has one of my NVMe SSDs on a PCIe card. Both dedicated MVMe slots are also in use. So I'm looking at getting a dual slot card to add both the existing SSD and a new one, but PCIE x16 cards appear to be well over £100. I know that x8 cards are compatible with x16 (smaller cards always fitting in larger PCIe slots) but will it affect the speeds of the SSDs, i.e. if both are being accessed will there be a bottleneck, and likewise will a single card being accessed be any slower on a dual card than the exist…

Just a warning. Just because you have an Asus Z690 board with lengthened mounting holes on the motherboard so as to accommodate the new LGA 1700 and older LGA 1155/1200 cooler mounting brackets, don't be fooled into thinking your cooler is compatible. The socket is a different height and thus the cooler may not have sufficient pressure. For my Noctua, I ordered the relevant new mounting hardware.
