Has anyone tried running FSX with iSCSI storage? Also Intel is about to release a a new driver for RST Storage using SSD in raid. Any opinions for FSX. http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/21/trim-or-raid-0-ssd-owners-will-no-longer-have-to-choose/, "the next release of Intel's RST should support TRIM for RAID 0, so switching to solid state storage will become an even smarter decision than it is right now."Thanks,Lynn Fisher

Guys,I have an onboard sound card on my second computer. This computer is used for FSInn, BAV acars, web etc. I would like to set it up so that ATC sound only comes through my wireless Logitech G930 headset and all other sounds go through the speakers. I am actually OK if all sounds go through both but right now all sounds go through the headset only and I cannot seem to change it. If I manage to get all sounds through the speakers then the headset does not work. Any ideas ?Mark.

Not a big deal, but this is my first time dealing with something like this and it had me curious. The other day I noticed one of my Blue LED Yate Loons wasn't spinning but the LED was on. At first I figured it had kicked the bucket, but I cycled my fan controller for that fan to add more voltage and it spun right up. Of course after that, I could bring the controller right back to the lowest setting and it kept spinning. Finally the question: I've never had this issue before with the fan needing a little bit more starting voltage. Could this be normal wear and tear or a fluke?

Hi folks,Would really appreciate if some of you have the time to comment.I have this setup atm, hitting typically 7-20 FPS with FSX AP with SP. Addons UT2, UTX, FSGX 2008, GEX NA/E, REX and PMDG 737: So.Basically, I am looking for better FPS, but also a system that is newer and quicker in general, also for photo editing. Second part will follow automatically. :)I am looking at this system, mainly based on stuff I have been reading around here: Now, for those of you still reading: 1. Any point spending the $ on Dominator?2. Is the difference between 560 Ti and 570 worth it? I have read 560 Ti is quite ok.3. PSU. I am going to calculate it, but if you know for sure 750W i…

HiI have a simple question regarding the core voltage showing on the CPU page of CPU-Z. When using prime 95 the core voltage is showing 1.32v. Is this the same as the v-core voltage in the bios ? I understand if this is I should not exceed 1.35v if I want to overclock some more ? At present I am at 4.2 Ghz on my i5 2500k.I have upped the Dynamic Vcore by only 0.05v from base to start overclocking but in the bios the v-core is showing 1.356v. Is this OK ?Thanks

Hii am considering overclocking my i52500k processor. Has anyone on this forum done it and what advice could they please give. I think the curent clock speed is 3.3 ghz with a boost facility to 3.7 ghz. What speeds do you have to overclock to to get a significant increase in performance ? I don't really want to compromise the integrity of the chip but I suppose all oveclocking will do it to varying degrees but also what is a "safe" speed to overclock to ? Please excuse my ignorance but does the overclock override the already built in boost facility ? Finally when not running FSX when overclocked does the chip still run at only what speed it needs to say for example surfin…

My inner nerd is not nerdy enough to figure out what Ivy Bridge can do for FSX using Mr. Google. Perhaps a lacking in google abilities, coupled with a touch of mathematical dyslexia, too much coffee, and impatience reading techno information hinders my quest with the universal question, "Will Ivy Bridge be a bag of chips and dip for FSX? (How is that for a short sentence, and I only had to use a spell checker five times!). So, what's the rub with Ivy Bridge? Will it provide the "A-Ha" moment for FSX we have been waiting for all these years? Or will it be another two grand of computer parts used as a door stop, the way many others are piling in my room waiting to be thro…

Ok guys, Christmas time is coming soon and I'm planning to give myself the gift of a new laptop to finally fly FSX! I know, PCs are better but due to other reasons, I need to get a laptop (Mac or Windows I don't care). Ideally, I would want to spend around $1000 for it.From what I've read, I'm better off with a higher clock speed CPU than trying to get more cores correct? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hello all,I am new to this forum and wanted to get your guys opnion on a fix if possible. I just upgraded my AMD Phenom II x4 965BE with Asus M4A89GTD Mobo at 4.02GHz to a Intel i5-2500K with Asus P8Z68-v LX @ 4.7GHz. The strange thing is that with my AMD i was able to get 15-20 fps with PMDG NGX with Ohare-X, now with the intel it is extremely choppy and not flyable. I have done the Bojotes tweak, running external frame limiter. I dont know what else to look at.Current PC specs:CPU: i5-2500k @ 4.7GHzMobo: Asus P8Z68-v LXMemory: G. Hey guys,Next week I plan on ordering parts for my new PC build, which will be using the i5-2500K and MSI GTX-560ti Twin Frozer II with 8gb of DDR3 RAM. But one thing I am having trouble with is deciding on a motherboard for the build. There are so many to choose from. I am looking for a Z68 in the $150- $200 price point which will allow me to overclock to around 4.5GHZ and one with a great BIOS. Do any of you have any recommendations on a motherboard, as at the moment I am having great trouble due great amount of boards. Thanks guys,Ollie

This time this isnt FSX issues at all. I was watching youtube videos when the computer made a studdering sound like it was gonna crash, but it didnt. It recovered and the youtube screen was all green. Before that there was a bunch of pixels all piled up on the bottom of the video. Video Drivers are up to date. I also got a hazard symbol down in the bottom of the screen saying the following. "display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

Hello All,Having completed my Private Pilots License, I am looking for some help in building a new rig, and what parts I need to get so that I can have a fantastic experience. I currently run FSX with a Q6600, 9600GT, 2 X 500GB HDDs, 4GB RAM, Windows Vista Home Premium, 20FPS in worse case scenario, but runs up to 30-40fps+ on occasions. FS9 runs ok, but I seem to get better FSX performance in most cases.I am looking to run FSX at max settings, good eye candy (for once), FS Labs Concorde, FS Labs A32X (When it's released) and currently the Wilco Airbus at least 24-40fps+ - that's all I really fly and probably some PMDG products when I am bored. Along with running Squ…

My second computer has an MSI P45 Neo board and today it would not boot up at all. I have tried power on off many times and it just recycles the power or the power stays on but nothing booting up. I have reset the CMOS, no joy. I have removed the video card and ram and when powered on there is no sound from the MB, I think there should be continuous beep. No other beeps on startup other than sound of HD turning. Any other test I should try ?Mark.

Well, having my i7 975 processor for a few years now, and the warranty pretty much gone...and still trying to chase down FS9 and FSX stutters (see my big post http://forum.avsim.n...n-fs9-stutters/)...I've decided to explore some conservative overclocking.I have a slight understanding of the basics. However, with so many different processors and tutorials out there, I can't decide which is the best one to follow. Again, I'm not trying to get a 5.0 GHz machine or anything that is guaranteed to break the envelope. In my BIOS I've always seen a tab labeled "Extreme Tweaking" and right near the top there is a CPU automatic mode with two additional options, "i7-crazy-3.75G" a…
