Hi I have active sky next on my pc for fsx but whenever I fly through cloud my fsx lags a lot in vc view ? I get 30 FPS locked when not flying through cloud normally. I previously got a lot of 'FSX has run out of memory, please restart FSX and lower settings' messages and I did some research and decided it may have been my hard drive and so I bought a 250gb SSD. I then reinstalled my OS on the hard drive (SSD is only for FSX) and then all of FSX onto the SSD, I still have 86GB free on it. I usually get this when I am departing or approaching big airports such as UK2000 Heathrow, Aerosoft CDG etc. I use Orbx Global, Active Sky 2012, REX 4, lots of Payware Airports and usually either PMDG 777 or 737 every flight (but i have lots of others as well). And I thought I was clear of all issues as I've been error free for a month.... I booted my PC today with a black screen. I rebooted to find a BSOD with error 116 and the above file as the cause. Googling 116 seems to be related to video card. The card is clean I just took canned air to it about a month ago, I've reseated it, all connectors are secure. Any ideas before I proceed with an RMA from EVGA?

Hey guys, Last week I got a MSi Z97 Gaming 5, a 4770K, an Asus 770 DCII OC and a Crucial BallistiX 1866 8GB ram. I was with no PC so because I really need it for work, I got the 4770k instead wait for the 4790k. All is good compared with my old 2500k, the i7 is a beast, FSX is running fine with (finally...) all the addons together. With one click on the MSi bios I was able to jump to 4.0GHZ, temps is really good ( 49 with a 412s with 2 Noctuas in push-pull, and 2 180mm AP182 at 2500rpm in front of my Silverstone FT04BW, afer 4 hours of prime 95.), question is, I have seen that OC the 4770 is "harder" than my 2500k, really do not understand some things on my bios. …

I have a tech question regarding ssd 1 TB disc my ssd disc is almost full and I need another 1tb extension for my photografic scenery within x-plane. some people say if you connect both as one disc then it will run slower at the time due to windows and I should obtain for 2tb ssd (if there is any) is that statement true? duke

Last summer I built and configured a FSX system after advice from Nick and his bible. One advice was to disable HT since FSX can't benefit from it. But I have now P3D2 which I think can use HT. On the other hand I think enabling HT will make the CPU run hotter so maybe I must lower my current 4.5 GHz OC? The same questions would also apply if I would get XPLane 10. So what is the best thing to do here? What have you done?

Hi, I am about to build a new PC around September, October this year and as I want to begin with FSX there are some questions I would like to get answers for. I want to use some add ons like Carenado Cessna 172, Aerosoft Diamond Katana, Aerosoft Dimona H36, VFR Germany, REX, maybe UTX to get a nice simulation of GA. Hi all I've got a old box with a i7 975 extreme on a P6T deluxe board that I think I can run P3D on with a new 780 gtx. I fired it up and noticed that I put the OC back to standard. Had a look round to find an OC tweeker but no luck does anyone still run one of these and can help with settings or point me somewhere. Things have been getting slow lately, then I downloaded ANCHORAGE x then now I can't even go to Anchorage . If I do , the little pop up that downloads the scenry gets to around 80 % and that's it. If I go to a small airport only, I can fly. I guess I'll need a new drive , any suggestions ? While I wait, in the mean time, maybe I'll transfer some things that aren't related to FSX on my external hard drive ( 1.5 TB ), like anti- virus etc. My ( C ) Drive now is showing 476 free of 910 GB. Hey Guys I've recently changed hardware and am about to embark on the absolute mammoth task of a total clean reinstall of FSX, and countless add-on aircraft, sceneries, utilities, etc. etc. To get into good habits, I want to do a backup of the FSX installation in a totally "clean" state, and then take an image of the FSX environment before installing each new add-on in the future, so that I always have a restore point to the last known good setup of FSX.
