For anyone of you wondering what a Buttkicker is you can read all about it here but in short it's a hardware device that will literally and physically let you feel what you experience in flight simulator or any other games you play or movies you watch for that matter since it's in no way dependant on any special drivers etc...it simply reacts on the audio being outputted by your sound card. So looking at flight simulator with this type of device you will be able to actually feel the vibrations from the engines when you start them up, feel the bump when you touch down or how the vibrations from rolling fast down the runway during takeoff will stop at the moment you lif…

Hi there, I'm building a new PC. It'll contain the i7-4790k oc'd water cooled, 1x EVGA SC GTX 780 3gb, 2x 4gb DDR3 RAM. I've been using FSX for years now, and have gone through too many PCs to get it running well. My question is, would it be worth it to ditch FSX and make the leap to P3D. With the constant updates, it seems like it would be very cool. I've never used P3D before, and I don't know if I'm subconsciously building a FSX system. The reason I chose this CPU is because it has the best single core usage, and by turning HT off, I'm sure that it'll (FSX) get some good performance. Haven't been able to find much info on P3D and the 4970k. I'm sure that t…

So I posted not so long ago "Advice" about upgrading my current computer to work much better with FSX. After totting it all up GPU, MoBo, Hydro Cooler, Intel I7, C70 Case, £800 give or take. Now I have been thinking if I were to build a computer from scratch. What would you recommend £1500 to play with at a stretch. Craig

Hi, I'd appreciate an opinion on how sensible my upgrade thoughts are. I'm using P3Dv2.2 currently. At present, in a very old unsatisfactory case, I have a Corsair 750w PSU, i7 2600K o'cd to 4.8 with H80 cooler, on an ASUS P8-68V Pro, 8GB G-skill RipjawsX DDR3 1600, EVGA GTX680 Signature 4GB. I've bought a Coolermaster HAF X case to move all the above stuff into, but had a last minute thought. Since I'll be re-assembling everything in this new case, should I take the opportunity to install a new motherboard (and associated CPU) when I'm at it? I could manage to fund an i7 4820K on something like an ASUS X79 Sabertooth. I could, if it's necessary add an …

Just put together a spanking brand new Asus Z87-A motherboard, a Noctua NH-D14 CPU cooler that was recommended in this Forum, and an Intel i5-4670k CPU,powered by an Antec Tru-Power 650W Power Supply Unit and 4x4Gb DDR3-12800 Corsair Vengeance RAM modules, with on-board VGA output until I buy a suitable Nvidia card Problem: It will not POST with ALL four RAM modules in their respective Dual Channel slots Resolution Steps: Tested each RAM module individually in Memory Slots 1 and 2 in turn; system POSTs no problem, but only shows up as 1333MHz instead of 1600MHz, but nevertheless, proves that each 4Gb RAM module is functional. Tried Memory Slots 3 & 4 and the syst…

Last August, I bought and AMD computer from BestBuy (I was meant to buy in Intel version but the listings were identical and I made a mistake), it has an AMD FX8320 processor with a gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 motherboard, and an NVidia 650GTX graphics card. And my FPS in the sim are indecent. They are always un-constant and laggy. I pull 5-7fps on the ground in the NGX, but it seems lower due to the lag. I shot AMD an email and they sent my un helpful links to compatible processors my motherboard can support. The highest listing was the FX8320, I assume my motherboard can not support the FX9590 or similar. But since the FX8320 is high up, is it a good processor? I kn…

I actually have an i5 2500k at 4ghz but i am not very satisfied with it performance in prepar 3d v2.2 i am getting like 18 - 22 fps in the pdmg 737 in Dubai with high settings(note that i have also aplied some tweaks to the game). What i want to know is if an i7 4770k will be able to hold over 30 fps in this type of situations and how much extra performance will i get over the i5 2500k. Considering this i will take my decision if i upgrade my cpu or not. Just to add, i have a gtx670. Any type of information will be very helpful Thanks Ricardo

The Crucial website suggests that my GIGABYTE (ga-78lmt-usb3) can run ballistix 8-8-8-24 when my 8 gig stock DDR RAM was shipped to me on MOBO with timing of 11-11-11-28 with (now up-graded) AMD 8350 with hyper 212 heat-sink & fan, GTX 770, and a 750 W PSU. My current RAM runs at a speed of 1600. The MOBO manual states "support for DDR3 1333+ (o.c.) /1066 MHz memory modules". Right now everything runs lightning fast and silky smooth since I only use this rig for FSX. But once in a while, the windscreens in the PMDG NGX take about a second or two to populate scenery when panning to the left (out of the windows). Very annoying. Now using a WD 1 TB HDD drive. I installed…

So I've starting building my 4790k system, and my rosewill blackhawk case has pre-arranged connectors for the front panel to hook into the motherboard..the issue is the pins don't line up to the motherboard configuration. Aren't these usually separate so this doesn't happen? Anyone know how to fix this or have this issue?

Hello everyone, Problem after problem for me unfortunately. Just got a new PC 5 days ago, and a couple days after, my performance has been very inconsistent, more noticeable. For example, in Minecraft, on one occasion I can get 300-400 FPS and on another occasion I get 1100-1300 FPS (difference is way too large..). In FSX when locked at 30, I have been able to get 30 but other times around 20 FPS (all on high settings and demanding add-ons) I have had a few blue screens, some of them coming when doing system restores, but recovered from them fine. During that time, in the BIOS, I also pressed F5 which loaded the 'optimization defaults' and changed a few things ju…

Hi all, I am considering purchasing a UPS for my gaming PC that I use to play FSX. I'm trying to figure out what type of UPS I need (volts, watts, etc.) Right now I have a gaming PC with a 705W power supply. I also have 3 27" monitors and a number of peripherals: Saitek Yoke/Rudder/Elevator Trim/Switch Panel/Radio Panel Logitech MK320 Wireless Standard Keyboard w/Optical Mouse Logitech Z623 200W 2.1ch Speakers Is there a way to calculate what UPS model would be best? I'd only be looking to supply power for 10-15 mins, just so have I have enough time to power down the PC if the power goes out in order to prevent damage to any components. If anyone could give …

Hi, I hope I have the right forum section for this and if not, I apologize ahead of time. I will be migrating from FS9 to P3D V2.x in the next few months. I am hoping my hardware is up to the challenge. I have an AMD A8-5500 @ 3.2 GHz, 8 GM of RAM (I think it is DDR3), I have an ASUS Mother Board, not sure which one, Win 7/64. I purchased a GTX 780 4 GB graphics card and I have to get a new power supply to handle the card. Is this good enough to run P3D or do I have to grovel to my wife? Thanks in Advance.
