I got TileProxy to work right off and am joining those who would gladly mow Christian's lawn for the opportunity to help him test version 6.However...after some sort of buffoonery trying to use something besides the server that rhymes with "Doogle" my world comes up black. I get the autogen traffic and airport ITEMS. But nothing on the ground.Do I need to reinstall Tile Proxy? Some sort of folder mislocation? Do I need to sacrifice a live chicken on the next full moon? Thanks in advance...Jeff

Christain (et al)Can you clarify the instruction to hold F8 on boot - when i install the win64 unsigned driver option. What am i booting up that i hold F8 down on? Do you mean the load.bat or FSX? It's not hold F8 on pc startup is it? I haven't used unsigned drivers before and it's bit of a mystrey. I haven't received any warning messages yet. I've had to remove SP1 from FSX and it's made Tileproxy working a lot better. I guess it was the blurries problem. Individual tile speeds are more in line with recommendations and it looks stunning.

Hi,The tileproxy thread over at the FS9 forum left me a bit confused...is tileproxy working well with FS9?Just wanted to confirm, rather than mess things up.

Greetings all. I just got turned on to this Tile Proxy project and decided to give it a try. I followed the directions, at least I thought I did, but for some reason only the departure airport is being affected, the rest of the world remains unchanged. Any help please?

Hi there,I'm looking at the dos prompt window for a load and i'd like to know how to read the traffic. Can someone take me through understanding firstly the line that reads for example;preloaded: 90000, hits: 140000, miss: 14000, Messages: 15000 i get about 20 lines of individual tile accesses... with timings that on average are lower than the 100 per second mark. I'm confused if these timings are good? Christain said you've got to look for around 300-500. I'm on a 24Mbs broadband supply and have dropped the rate of the source down from 2.0 to 1.0.I occasionally get an individual tile access line that includes '(0) - Done!' at the end. Does this mean the tile has loaded an…

Firstly, thanks for creating such a great program! Unfortunately I can't seem to get it to work. I've copied over the info from one of the ini files found on this forum, only changing the url's, but for some reason FSX is stuck... for AGES... on 36%. Thing is it locks up FSX and I can't use Firefox when it's like this nor bring up the program manager to shut it down. The final reading on Tileproxy is; (0)- Done!Any ideas?

Since the Y**** server has started being provided I continue to be blown away-however like others there are inconsistant resolutions and eventual blurry's.I started thinking-I want the highest resolution tiles possible-why download the lower res tiles? So I changed the proxy.ini to both max/min of 17....I then loaded my area of the world with the highest detail level. It took all night to load....I woke up this morning-took off, and was treated to high res textures everywhere (look extending to the distance-sharp the whole way!)and a huge geographic area in this detail. Most importantly-the scenery didn't blur as I flew over it!Fps took a hit but still above 15 on my 4 y…

Sorry for the long post but...I've just been blown away... In the frenzied attempts to get FSX's stunning 1.1m/pixel resolution tiles to load from the web (without having to resort to painfully slow airspeeds), I'd been overlooking the incredible gemstone right at my feet: FS9 and TileProxy. I've just finished a flight from Winnemucca, Nevada to Missoula, Montana non-stop (350 nautical miles with no refreshes) in the FS9 Real Air C172. I averaged between 100 to 110 knots and (with the settings 60 to 80 FPS at 1600x1200x32 resolution. At an average of 4000 to 5000 feet AGL it was a captivating journey...perfectly displayed 4.75m/pixel textures...like an endless carpet of M…

Location: Flying northeast out of Bolzano. First follow the autostrada (freeway), then take a right turn into the valleys. Then go looking for the big rock formations.Mesh: FS Global 2008Aircraft: American Aircraft Aviation Decathlon (from RealAir Scout package)Some of the vector roads cut through the mountains (tunnels), but as a result the cars go OVER it. That's funny.I had some trouble with getting the textures crisp and sharp during flight, but "Refresh Scenery" from the tileproxy menu is your friend ;-)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/175052.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/175053.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/175054.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_fi…

Hi there, just got my self some handy flight kit that harmonizes well with TileProxy. I needed some slow flying general aviation aircraft and since I did not really want to go as far back as World War I (e.g. the Tiger Moth) I decided to get Real Air's "Scout" package, which consists of three aircraft. The American Champion Citabria 7GCBC The American Champion Decathlon 8KCAB The American Champion Scout 8GCBCThe scout comes in three variations. I particularly like the scout with the big wheels - the "Tundra" type. That will make a dent on the runway! ;)Everything pretty nicely modeled (interior and exterior) and at 10 Euros per aircraft (plus VAT) not too expensive. Excelle…

I probably have just missed an obvious reference somewhere but how do you change the choices for providers in FSX using the pull down menu? Mine comes up with a default setting that you must change by editing a file somewhere. I am sure it is obvious but I am missing it.

I was a bit hesitant to use TP at first. Not enough hd space, little experience with setting up servers. But I made the step and just finished an hour long flight in my prefered holiday region: South Tyrol and the Dolomites.I don't have any screenshots to share, but I got treated with perfection. I only use FS9 so the resolution is limited, nontheless I was able to recognize all the places I went hiking last year. All this coupled with the 19 meter mesh of the alps gave the first satisfying flight in this area ever. There simply is no landclass available that is accurate enough to account for the subtle differences of meadows, forrests and rock to be found in this area of…

is there a way to use those data sources, which i have 13gb of for my city, in flight sim. using tile proxy, or sbuilderx

I didn't see this one mentioned in the forum before, so I thought maybe you'd like to see it Christian. It's only happened a few times (each with Y****! Maps in FS9), once in Glacier National Park near Lake Mary, Montana, and at two locations in southern Arizona...but I've traced at least this last instance of the problem to ONE SINGLE level 15 tile missing from the Y****! coverage. The error reads: "Tile API: Warning! Tile Downloaded at level 15 (6068, 19580) came out NULL or zero length! Press any key to continue. Since it didn't happen with the other two services, some online snooping uncovered the culprit: http://maps.yahoo.com/#mvt=h&trf=0&lon=-11...33.022212&…

For those on a tight budget of memory. I've just added a memory cache restriction to TP. You can specify for example that you never want more than 40000 tiles cached in RAM or never more than 50 MB of graphics data in memory. If the limits are exceeded, TP starts flushig out older data into nirvana. Works nicely on my 512 MB test machine (Pentium 3) running FSX RTM. Before this feature it started swapping after some 30 minutes of flight. No longer. ;)Next steps - time permitting - would be a similar strategy for tile data on disk. The limits would be configurable of course. So you could make sure that the (poorly compressed) World folder never grows above 1 Gig and TP cou…

Development progress is kind of slow right now on Tileproxy. I do not have a lot of spare time for TP right now.Let me just quickly state that earlier this month I've been experimenting with "hooking" techniques as a potential alternative to the filesystem filter driver. Hooking means patching entry points to the Win32 API for a specific application (FSX.exe) with the intention to intercept these calls. This provides the capability to more directly feed the texture data into the sim (less overhead...). I have already had some success with this, but sometimes the CPU's Data Execution Prevention (DEP) prevents me from hooking all of the CreateFile/ReadFile API calls. There w…

I had to reinstall FSX. I did it in this order.1. Uninstalled FSX2. Defragged my hard drive3. Installed FSX4. Installed FSX SP15. Installed TP5 with SP1 optionI am getting the default scenery when running TP5. Any ideas on what I could have missed? When I look in the scenery library I see none of the TP texture folders added as addon scenery. When TP runs it always shows 0 textures being loaded but it does detect the sim and the location.I know I must have missed something somewhere in the process. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Bob

New to this forum, and admittedly not having read thouroughly all the documentation and posts multiple times, I am using TP with FS9 an need clarification.I do see the sample proxy.ini when I go to start-programs-edit tileproxy cfg. Right click and this is my entry looking at the properties:C:WINDOWSsystem32notepad.exe "D:FS2004Flight Simulator 9TileProxyProxyUser.INI"Is this correct? Is this where the edits occur? Is this where the ini file resides?ThanksDom
