Take of from Bolzano and fly 045 degrees. Climb to seven or eight thousand feet and the scenery in service 1 is stunning. Amongst the best I've seen yet in Tileproxy.Perhaps we ought to run a thread called great places to visit with Tileproxy.IAN

For new users, here is a brief "Quick Guide" tutorial to getting started in TileProxy: www.edtruthan.com/tileproxy/tutorialIt's HIGHLY recommended that all users take the time to read the TP MANUAL in it's entirety. Here's an online version with handy "Quick Links" at the top of the page to jump to topics you might need to quickly access: www.edtruthan.com/tileproxy/manual.htmMany thanks from all of us in the global Flightsim community to TP author Christian Buchner for his tireless dedication to TP."We finally have a REAL Earth …

Hello everyone!Wow - until recently I wasn't aware that 32000 people have downloaded Tileproxy Beta 7 since its availability. In the end that amounted to about 150 downloads a day - and about 10 TB in download volume in total. After an 8 month hiatus, there is now a new release of Tileproxy. https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.p...lease_id=636540While the program code itself hasn't changed much except for a few minor details, I have an interesting new feature to offer. A new static photo scenery of the entire earth will allow FSX to load the Tileproxy scenery significantly faster. This should be a really good reason to upgrade! Bummer #1: Due to the added photo scene…

Does anybody know where I can find a copy of the TileProxy source code? Or, can anyone send it to me if they have it? I see the source is supposedly GPL license, but I am not sure as to the accuracy of that.

Hello all, Recently I made the decision to upgrade to windows 10, why I don't know. I had tile proxy working in windows 7 just fine. I tried to install it in windows 10 and followed this thread even though I don't have the Steam Edition of FSX But it did not work. much to my dismay. any Ideas would be greatly appreciated. I know someones gonna say "go back to windows 7" 1) Create a cache folder (better on another HDD or SSD) (me : D:\TileProxy\) 2) Install TP : Destination folder by default (shoul be the "steam\common\ ...") 3) When asking for "cache" an "photoreal" : type your folder in 1) (D:\TileProxy\) 4) Set the others options as you like 5) Windows 10 wil…

Hi All, decided to try and resurrect TP having had a few years off and much has changed. For a start my Windows 7 PC has been upgraded to Windows 10 and it seems that Ed Truthans guide now needs to be read alongside this one. http://rele.me.uk/flight-simulation/tileproxy/tileproxy-installation which seems to be a Windows 10 update. I followed both to the letter (though I'm starting to doubt this!!) and am getting the error that I have seen reported that is normally associated with driver signing ie: proxyUser: Volume listing failed with error: 0x80070005 proxyUser: making sure SuperFetch service is not running... proxyUser: Connecting to the filter proxyUs…

I've used tileproxy occasionaly for many years, and I know that there are many different types of errors. But after working for hours to get it working again on my new Windows 10 machine, i've finally gotten to the place where grids with 'circles' in them appear on the terminal window. And, it notices when I go into fsx and out of it again. It says "simulation started!" . Everything seems to be fine. No error messages in the tileproxy window. Except, in FSX, there are no changes. The game loads waaay too fast for it to be comprehending the tileproxy scenery. It's almost instant, it should take a few minutes at least. There's the ugly white default scenery everyw…

Why is the moderator of this site, so slow to approve forum topics? Takes about three business days for a topic to post! Very frustrating and annoying!

Seems that I've had more issues running Tileproxy on windows 8, than I ever had, running it on Windows Vista! With Vista, it was running as smooth as warm butter across toast and the photorealistic graphics, were incredible! With Windows 8, on the other hand, it's like having a cavity with the nerve exposed, a complete pain in the butt. Freezes the loading of FSX, in between 34% and 42% and the only way to get FSX to finish loading, is to close Tileproxy and afterwards, restart it once FSX has finished loading and then, you still don't get the photorealistic graphics! Not saying that it's Tileproxy's fault, cause I don't believe that for an instant, but I do believe that …

Used to run tileproxy on windows vista, but that was before my laptops took a word not allowed on me and now, I'm using my wife's desktop with windows 8. Yes, I finally got it to run on Windows 8, but now, I can't save any of the edits that I make in the proxyuser.ini folder. I've even right-clicked on the Tileproxy folder and gone into it's properties and unchecked the "Read-only" box and somehow, managed to make a quick edit and save into the proxyuser.ini folder, but the maps still didn't load as they should've. Then, I went back to make another edit and the process was starting all over again, as far as me not being able to edit and save any changes(Access Denied"). A…

I recently (June 2017) dusted off my trusty FS9 and installed it on a modern desktop, then downloaded and installed TileProxy. The good news: TileProxy appears to run normally, all the way to the ovals, and the selected flight (Seattle) loads normally. The bad news: Everything around the airport is black. And when I check the cache folder, it's empty. Here are the specs: -FS9.1 -Win10-64bit -Tileproxy-Beta8-Nov16 My ProxyUser.ini is shown below. I've doubled-checked that the cache folder reference is correct (the folder is E:\Tileproxy cache) #My ProxyUser.ini starts here [TileProxy] master_enable=On diskless_mode=Off …

I have just started to re kindle my interest in things Flight Sim, FSX and P3d. I was an avid user, certainly of FSX and actually developed scenery for simmers, not much though (Bidford and Sywell). Unfortunately I suffered a stroke back in 2014 which curtailed my interest a bit. In a nutshell I want to start easing myself back in, I always had Horizon VFR for the Uk as a preference and if I'm honest I didn't take a lot of interest in Tile Proxy. However looking at some of the posts I've seen it looks far sharper than the Photo Scenery that was/is? available My PC is old by today's standards, I7 2.6 OC to 3.8, 6gb RAM and 1GB GPU I suppose but my internet connect…

Hello my friends, I have strange issue with TileProxy: some tiles loads properly (as You can see on the lower side of the screen), but some parts loads as pixelated scenery (upper side of the screen). If necessary I can post example of my ".ini" file. Any ideas ? I will appreciate your help. Cheers, Greg

OK I have been an avid user of TP for a couple of years and I love it but recently it has been given me problems the most annoying one is that a) it is slow to load I mean starting FSX and loading scenery could take upwards of 10 mins and it is very slow (lazy) to display once I am in the air flying. I then get very blurry pixels even with a C172 @80kts. If I pause the sim and go make a cup of coffee it eventiually gives me excellent scenery, although after few more miles I am back to the same problem. Now before you guys start saying see this thread or that thread i have scoured the net and AVSIM to find a solution and really not found one yet. So I assume it must be …

After spending hours trying hard to make Tileproxy work under Windows 10 and succeeding, now i face a new problem and its when i operate FSX together with Tileproxy, FSX crashes. There is that messages in the begining of Tileproxy launching that says : proxyUser : could not get DOS name for volume 'Device\NamedPipe' : 0x... <the request is not supported.> Could that message be the reason for the crash? Maybe there is no other way but to go back to Windows 7.

Standard install of Beta 8, first time user. Windows 7, installed as administrator. Intended use with FS9. Left all options at default during installation (except redefining cache location). Put cache folder in C:\TPCache (FS installed in F:\) directory and done following to all source paragraphs: cache_folder=C:\TPCache\cache.service4 Installed downloaded preconfigured ProxyUser.ini file and have done the following: # The other source statements should be commented out.#source=Acme Globe Servicesource=Service Example 1#source=Service Example 3#source=Service Example 4 First run of TP (FS not started, Firewall off, no AV): blabla..proxyUser: ERROR connecting to filter por…

I currently have all the UK GenX VFR photo Scenery from Horizon. - How does TileProxy compare? Is it worth running instead of the above? - What is the best LOD to use in TP for optimum balance between quality and performance? - On a flight of say 1 hour, how much disk space is used up by downloaded texture files, given above settings? - Does one typically delete downloaded files after completion of a flight? - Does TP use different LOD files depending on the altitude of the aircraft? Thanks for anyone's advice. Stuart
