I am still on the sidelines as far as FSX is concerned but read about TileProxy with great interest. The positives are fairly obvious to me but what about potential drawbacks?1. load time?2. availability of textures?3. stutter?4. no autogen?5. night scenery?6. resolution?I am just speculating. Would like to hear some opinions.Michael J.http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/9320/apollo17vf7.jpg

Hi all,I've messed around with the .inf file and thought it looked good, but when I try to fire up the program it tells me there was an error connecting to the filter port (see pic). Any idea what could be causing this?-Scotthttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/172036.jpg

Does the following just mean that textures at that level are not available? I setup the approach mission to Sitka, Alaska and it appears that only low resolution imagery is available...or is this just a result of the vagaries of the image server?TileAPI: Fetching tiles at level 11 (249,1421) (1,2) failed!TileAPI: Fetching tiles at level 11 (249,1421) (1,2) failed!TileAPI: Fetching tiles at level 11 (249,1421) (1,2) failed!

I found no cure for HIV yet, but one for the Blurries in FSX SP1Increased PerfBucket by factor 10, also set a pretty high fiberframe time fraction value. In the [ Main ] sectionPerfBucket=50FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=1.20I also lock my frame rate to 20 (it isn't actually reached, I getclose to 15 fps). The outcome is: TileProxy munches a constant 8-15% of my CPU timeand does a good job keeping up with texture loads. And I am also running the proxyUser.exe process in Realtime prioritywith affinity locked to the 2nd core ( can be set manually in Task Manager or by modifying the load.bat script inside TileProxy folder. In Beta3 there is a comment inside load.bat to show you how t…

A couple of questions:1. Using FSX is it better to use the video settings within FSX or External to the sim?2. If it is better to set the AA and AN settings external to the application, how do I set that up?I thought I had it working properly but now I am not so sure. My textures are not looking as sharp and detailed as those in the screenshots that are being posted.

If someone could give me an example of a configuration file as was also requested in another post below, I would be very grateful. I am not computersavvy enough....Thanks in advance,Paolo

Hi. Is anyone else having this problem?I start a flight with no error messages.. After flying for a while, textures begin to become blurry.. However as I check the TP output window, it's not actually loading any new tiles. It just sais "Done" and doesn't begin counting down again.. If I trigger a reload by for example changing the LOD Radius setting to something else, the scenery beneath the aircraft becomes sharp, so the problem is not missing data or textures. As I keep flying, the problem returns.

Finally got it working =)When using G00gle with FlashEarth.com I get very high resolution of my area (can see my two cars). But in FSX this is not the case, just very low resolution. However the airport area (LPFR) 55km east is covered in high detail. Any idea to fix this ?------------------------------------------Freeware A380 Load Editor + Glass Cockpit Software coming soon !

Using www.flashearth.com, it is apparent that for some areas of the world Microsoft VE aerial images have greater definition than GoogleEarth ones. This is certainly true of parts of the UK. My question: Is it possible with TileProxy to load images from MS VE rather than from Google, and if so how does one go about this?Regards,Stuart

When switching between GGGL E and VRTL E should I run the clean up.bat before switching services in the .ini or is it ok just to do the switch and carry on?

My tiles are downloading no problem and they look fine in the cache folder, but when viewed in FSX they are blurred with very little detail. Novice needs help please.

I am curious as to what changing the value of the Color_Level parameter in the ProxyUser file actually does during the "color hack" process. What is the difference between a value of 7 and 13, for example? Best regards,Tony

what is the opinion of people with a similar system (3.2-2-256-XP) re. SP1... I am happy with FSX original and TP as it is and I would switch only if that represents a clear benefit (e.g. loading textures) and no losses (e.g. blurries). Might be a little early though... Thank you!

The is currently a bad problem with Windows Vista and TileProxy. It leads to a few black tiles popping up occasionally - and worse some bad ground blurring the LONGER you cycle over a specific spot. Let me explain why this happens. I had my Eureka-Moment after a short nap:TileProxy makes contents on the filesystem change transparently and depending on the behavior of Flight Simulator (e.g. aircraft position, etc). But Windows Vista has this new feature: It copies often accessed files to memory so that they are available much faster later on. The longer you cycle over a terrain area in FSX on Vista, the more often specific ground tiles get accessed. There is a point when Wi…

Hi ChristianFirstly, and most importantly, amazing work. Thank you!I've gone through the whole reinstallation process of FSX to ensure a clean installation of SP1 and it's running just fine.Just finished reinstalling TileProxy Beta 3 (on Vista 32) and for some reason it's not adding its coverage to the scenery library. Tried a quick reinstall and it hasn't take again. Beta 2 was fine last night.Any thoughts?Paul
