Hi, I've just discovered TP (very late I know). I've tried to follow the instructions as best I can. Installed TP in default directory. Put the cache and BMP on a different drive but kept the directory name as advised. Used edtruthan's .ini file. Chose service 3. Started TP and successfully connected and began to download files (lot's of asterisks filling up the shapes on the screen). Started FSX checked the lod8 file was below the 0000 file. Went to Glasgow egpf and chose tp from the add on menu and refreshed the screen. Default scenery! alt-enter to see what TP was doing it said it was successfully connected to FSX and still seemed to be downloading lots of in…

When my RAM load on ProxyUser.exe gets above 4.1G, I get an OOM for TileProxy ONLY, not for FSX. Although it temporarily freezes FSX, once I close the TileProxy command window, FSX continues with what it has got, albeit whithout any new tiles. I reassigned a maximum RAM usage in the ProxyUser dat file to 3500000000 (3.5G? but it still goes beyond 4G eventually (after 300 nm or so) Is this the right setting to adjust or is there none to be done? Understandably, TileProxy is a 32-bit app. I have 16G RAM and 4G VRAM allen

With my Optic Internet line I am getting pretty fast updating of textures. Very satisfied. The problem is that once the nice greenish photo textures are crisp and clear, another layer pops in on top of it, it is greyer and and not as nice How can I prevent these "latter events " (the grayish in the pic) from appearing and ruining everything See pic could it be a nearby river that is calling for masking stuff?

Hello! I am running Windows 8 64bit and Prepar3D 1.4. I have read that TileProxy can work in Prepare3D using the Migration tool witch I have. However I cannot install the TileProxy software, because during installation I get this error : https://www.dropbox.com/s/uw1dgisx1nkk3n6/Untitled.png I have turned off UAC and I have disabled the check for signed drivers for Windows 8 via the Advanced boot menu. This is done before the installation after uninstalling many times. Also tried with the Antivirus and Firewall turned off. However I always get this error. Please, I would be pleased for any help. Thank you for your time. Best regards, If…

Hi allInstalled Tileproxy onto my Win 7 64bit machine at weekend. As discussed in the instructions and in forums some areas have great detail others look v low quality. At the moment the only service which seems to work with Tileproxy is the Bing Maps one. I've tried the other suggestions but I just end up with black scenery and no detail:(I see that there is an updates thread but how do I know which update is for which service?I've tried to find other map servers with better detail for (ie) Jersey in the C.I, Trondheim, Nuuk, Beirut but the only one that looks any good is google earth and I know we can't use that service.Any ideas?ThanksAdam

Hi, As an old time user of Tileproxy (a long time ago admittedly), I thought I would have no problem setting it up again on a new computer, but this has got me stumped! When installing the program, I set up the Photoreal World folder and the Cache folder on a separate Hard Drive and amended the proxyuser.ini file to reflect this. Starting it up generates thousands of hits, so I know that it's working, but when FSX is started, the ground around the aircraft is black. Looking in the Cache folder to verify that the files have been downloaded, I find that it is empty!! There is NO cache.service3 folder being created in there. I've tried Ed Truthans solutions for b…

I am new to tileproxy, as of one day ago, but not new to FS (25 years now), and I cannot believe it has taken me so long to find this. Anyway, I already prefer the server 3 option (Yahoo) as it seems to have an edge on the Bing server. however, the are certain areas where the resolution from Yahoo is so bad that even at airliner altitude it is only just useable. Trouble is, I fly GA low and slow. Specifically, can someone please try the following two areas, using the number 3 server. 1. Yorkton, Saskatchewan. 2. Inverness, Scotland. If you get perfect results, then I obviously need some coaching. FYI, the Yahoo server is great in other areas. Florida, aro…

Hi, Can anybody HEELLPP? I installed Tileproxy Beta 8 today. Read through Ed Truthan's amazingly well written and thorough Quick Guide and installed the program for FS9 and FSX (I have both). Edited the two .ini files as suggested. Ran Tileproxy and all seemed well until I ran FS9. No scenery at all, just black ground and blue sky. Left FS9 running for about 20 minutes until it shut itself down! (Got bored I expect). The Tileproxy DOS window seemed to be doing it's stuff all the while and was producing large numbers of 'hits'. After repeating this exercise over about 2 hours I gave up and gave FSX a try. Changed the proxyuser.ini file, as suggested by …

As I have stated in another post, I am new to tileproxy. I want some clarification regarding offline use of tileproxy. If I wanted to fly from say Phoenix to Los Angeles, and I wanted to keep the textures available for another flight on another day, but without going online to get those textures the second time, what do I have to do step by step the first flight, and then the second. What settings must I put in the ini file on each occasion? Do I have to make sure the cache in FSX does not empty after shutting the sim down the first time? Look forward to advice, and I appreciate the help. Kenneth

Folks, I'm really digging this TileProxy now that I have a very capable system. With my current settings, I have very nice and crisp textures which are just a pleasure to look at while fying around. The only issue I am having right now is that even though it's pretty smooth and stutter free as I begin flying, I would say about 2-3 minutes into the flight, it will begin stuttering and even pausing for about 1-3 seconds at time and then continue smoothly. The pauses are about 3-5 seconds apart and sometimes more frequent. And when I say pauses, I really mean pauses. Not microstutters. The sim actually freezes for seconds at a time. My system specs are in my profile …

Obviously, nighttime flying with TileProxy is as dark as flying on the dark side of the Moon but I have a question before I embark in giving TileProxy a shot... Can I have UTX Night Lighting enabled and be able to at least see the nightlighting superimposed over the tileproxy tiles at night? Is this is possible or does anyone have any workarounds? I would really like to know beforehand because if it can be done, then it would worthwhile. Thanks guys and ladies...

Since I'm a newbie with TileProxy, I wanted to know if 15 + minutes is a 'normal' load time. If not, how do I make it shorter? Thanks, JImR
