'm wondering if this is possible: install TP and install UT night textures. I'm hoping this combination would give me a cockpit view where one could see streets, villages and towns during night flights, but still using TP for the scenery. Any thoughts if this would work?

I'm trying to use TileProxy with FSX but when I ran the"Start TileProxy" the four lines read: "proxyUser: Volume listing failed with error: 0x80070005' "proxyUser: making sure SuperFetch service is not running..." "proxyUser: Connecting to the filter" "proxyUser: ERROR connecting to filter port: 0x80070002" Although FSX started up okay after that, I don't know if the scenery is the FSX default version or the TileProxy version. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Jim R.

I'm having an issue, which i think may have happened after i tried turning off blending initially, so i could get rex water textures back.. now i have jaggy edges and i'm not sure why... here is an example.. Here are some of my settings.. thanks for any help out there: (i'm getting excellent low fly by resolution (shooting for 30cm) with bing vs yahoo, so thats what i have enabled so far, before i changed some of the blending values i had the default greenish water) master_enable=On max_lod=17 #30cm preload_min_lod=9 preload_max_lod=16 max_contexts=512 water_mask=On water_blending=off blend_distance=1000.0 #was 500 blend_exponent=1.0 alpha_…

Although I am currently using TileProxy I would like to know what are "photo-terrain textures" as opposed to the actual photo-real landscape as seen in Google Earth? For instance, I live in the New York Metropolitan area and as a one time P.P. have flown over Brooklyn a number of times, but when I fly over Brooklyn in FSX I don't see any of the ground objects that I know are there; like Coney Island beach, major hospitals, Prospect Park, etc. I'm not complaining because I do think the project adds a nice amount of realism to FSX. But if I fly over areas In FSX that I've never been to before I would like to know if I'm seeing some objects that are unique to the …

I have been using TileProxy since roughly 2008. After that nothing has really happened, it seems, to the project. Except that google said "Hands off our satellite data you aviation-loving leeches". Considering the traffic Google has on their servers I hardly think the traffic the flightsim community, and even to a lesser extent the part of it using TileProxy, creates could in any way be harmful. But - They seemed to forget "Don´t be evil", and changed it to "Be uncool". I loved Google´s maps and tileproxy, I think they were the best of the services provied back in 2008 at least. After they blocked TP i stopped using it. I have some questions, as I was thinking of star…

Hello all. After I install Tileproxy on a system running Win7 64 bit I get the following.I also recieved this error msg during the install. And yes, I have read all the other posts and all the suggestions about overcoming this problem. Here is what I've done so far: Read more websites, and posts in this forum, about overcoming digital signature issues than I ever hope to read again. UAC is OFF I am running in Windows Test mode. My bios does NOT have the F8 option either at startup, or in the bios configuration reached via F2. There is no disable digital security feature in my bios. I ran DSEO and signed the tileproxy.sys file in the root Tileproxy directory. I then copied…

Hi I have tileproxy working and it looks great, however the tree, building and water objects are all sparkling (see screen shot). It doesn't look too bad in the screenshot but when things are moving it's mesmerising. I have Rex 2.0 installed but that's it as far as other add-ons go. Can anyone tell me what this is? Thanks in advance Tom :)

I am considering getting fiber optic internet service. I already have a phoneline broadband that gives up to 2, usually only 1MB/s The optic says up to 30MB/s downloads/ Is this worth it? Anyone else notice a great difference?

Hi All,I've used TP in the 'old days' when it was version 5 or something like that, but TP wasn't the thing for me then due to performance issues. I used FS Earth Tiles lately but it had the drawback of creating the coastlines via Google Earth, a very painstaking job :(So, I am now using TP8 which has increased dramatically in performance and with my 120mbit internet connection it works great :Applause:I have however some questions regarding TP so if any of you can answer them I'm a happy camper :im Not Worthy:1. Will TP with FSX benefit from hyperthreading ON versus Hyperthreading OFF? I have an i7/920 which I can run at 4,4GHz with HT OFF. That'll give me plenty of CPU …

I just started playing with TileProxy yesterday. I followed the tutorial here to install TileProxy for FSX. I used Map Service #1 (Bing) because it has high res maps of the area I want to fly (Netherlands). However, I get very low resolution in FSX. This is what I see if I fly over Haarlem:And here is the same area on Bing:So why am I getting this low resolution?

I just stumbled upon TileProxy a few days ago and just like everybody else got the "Error 0x80070002" at first. We all know what the problem is. Windows will not load TileProxy because it tries to load an unsigned driver and Windows will not let it. Yes, I know there are several "easy" fixes ike turning off UAC, or booting windows with "Driver signature enforcement" disabled, or using "Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider", or using "ReadyDriver Plus." But the problem with all these solutions is that it always requires extra steps to be taken, plus it really puts your system in an undesired state. Now seeing that TileProxy hasn't changed since 2008 (is it still being main…

Hello all.I just today discovered Tileproxy and now I beleive I won't be able to fly without it.It occurs to me that since my network connection is not that fast, but I have plenty of HD space to spare, and I only fly around a specific area in FSX, it would be a good idea if I could pre-cache the tiles around that area, say, by letting the program run all night (sorry for the map server, but it'll only happen once) so it downloads and stores that area so next time I don't have to get it again from the server but instead retreive it from my HardDrive. Is there an easy way (as in: noob friendly) to do this?Regards. Fantastic program!

By now I've read tons of forum posts, read the manual twice, and also read the tutorial a few times. And although they do explain the basics, they don't explain the inner workings of TileProxy much. As such, it's terribly difficult to troubleshoot problems since it's almost impossible to find out what's causing them.So please allow me to ask a few questions. Hopefully someone can answer them.At first I was terribly confused about the difference of "LOD" and "LEVEL". Stuff like "max_lod", "preload_min_lod", "preload_max_lod", "max_level", and "min_level".But as I understand it: LOD (Level of Detail) is what Flight Simulator uses internally. It ranges from 8 to 17. 8 Being …

Has anyone else seen this? Basically, article states Yahoo map API is shutting down, I'm currently using this as my service and it still seems to work, but for how long? Did say they were handing off to Nokia (which apparently already was powering Yahoo via ovi). Perhaps the transition already took place transparently? If so, wonder if there will be map version updates now?
