Hello, i spent the new years completely emptying my computer of FSX SP1 and then reinstalling RTM to take care of the blurries (which really weren't that bad) but now they are much worse than before. I am running dual core with an ATI 2600 card and 4G RAM, and have the settings at 15FPS and medium radius and AUTOGEN to NONE. Any ideas?eric

"Service1" is now at version 104 (Wow!)"Service2" is at version 24"Service3" is at version 1.7Update the map_version arguments in ProxyUser.INI to take advantage of the latest map data. And unfortunately you will have to flush your service caches, as this cache is not yet aware of tile revisions/versions.Christian

Would it be possible to use half of TP (proxyuser?) on one machine (dualcore with FSX) and the other half on a 2nd machine devoted to fetching/building tiles?(The second machine would have network access to the drive of the 1st machine.)THANKS to Christian for the ***BEST*** FS add-on EVER.

FYI I have been able to generate a rectangular overlay over the FSX screen by means of hooking into the DirectX API. I am able to display anything I want. Text, graphics, whatever. This is for DirextX9 only, at this time.I might use this method to show Tileproxy status information, for example. Or a moving map, or both. ;)I might also start messing with the FSX shaders, textures, you name it. I have yet to discover and learn to control my new allmighty powers... hehe

So far I encountered these problems:- the water mask around Newport (Rhode Island) appears to be broken Investigating... It apears that a non N/S aligned rectangle of data indicates "all land". Does that mean NASA SRTM did not provide reliable data there?- captchaform component crashed on me once on WinXP (32bit) and was not working the second and third time (oh no, not again!) Seems like captchaform needs a MAJOR rewrite or overhaul.Christian

Hi folks, quite stunning: Tileproxy also works with Flight Simulator 2002, however I am probably not going to release the installer support for this feature to the public."Why not?" .. you might askBecause everytime Tileproxy loads a tile, the rendering of FS 2002 stops momentarily. Or in other words: Your flight would become a big stuttery mess. Here's a screenie of the FS 2002 Corsair over Grand Canyon:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/182542.jpg

"Service 3" in the Seattle Area is a stunner. I am using a map_version of "1.7" - this covers the entire area including Mount Rainier in extreme detail. Go take a helicopter there (up Mount Rainier I mean).Christian

I posted a reliability fix for the captchaform component on sourceforge. Just a 54 kb download. Manually copy this over the existing DLL and enjoy an endless ride, interrupted only by occasional nagging from the provider.Christian

I downloaded TileProxy last night, and I've been trying to get it to work ever since, without any luck, and WITH quite a bit of frustration. I'm using Virtual Earth as my server. I've also tryed using Yahoo Maps. FS2004:When I click Fly Now! in FS2004, it repeatidly says:Trying to (re)connect to Flight Simulator 2004...Connected to Flight Simulator 2004!Trying to (re)connect to Flight Simulator 2004...Connected to Flight Simulator 2004!Trying to (re)connect to Flight Simulator 2004...Connected to Flight Simulator 2004!Trying to (re)connect to Flight Simulator 2004...Connected to Flight Simulator 2004!etc etc.FSX:When I click Fly Now! in FSX, the loading eventually stops b…

Hello, Have loved Tileproxy for FS9. Made it a whole new sim from day one. As a RW commercial instrument rated pilot, I have routinely flown the sim into approaches that I would use, before I did them. Helped with terrain awareness. Quick question though. My access values are usually in the double digits, say 1.2 per second, 10 per second, 15 per second,50 per second. But, rarely do I ever see anything above 100 per second, or 200 per second. I am on a broadband line that I have tested, and it is over 12 MB download, and 1.5 Upload speed.I have noticed that others routinely get 100+ tile access per second both in pre-load and during the sim. Any ideas why I am so slow? I …

Hey C, So, I couldn't get water masking to work well in FS9 with Beta 6, so I turned it off. But, also, more annoyingingly, TP would just close itself after a couple of minutes, or in some cases, a couple of seconds. So, I uninstalled it. But, now, Beta 5, which was working beautifully, won't even start. You hit proxyuser.exe, or a shortcut, and it the window will come up, and you get the message "tileproxy will operate on C drive", and then it just shuts down. I completely uninstalled everything for both Beta 6 and Beta 5, and even deleted the residual Tileproxy folder in FS9 directory. Using Windows XP. Any thoughts? Did something get screwed up in the registry? Or is o…

Hi everybodyChristian/Santa Klaus, would it be possible that you add some features to TP ServiceCacheBrowser, which would make my (our?) life easier?- a refresh button in order to update the in flight or pre-flight loaded tiles.- some kind of pointer (hair cross?) showing on which tile the aircraft currently is.- a grid showing the names of the areas (when reasonably zoomed in).... hum... that's all ;>)Great jobRegardsJpP

Christian, I also have another problem that I see since I installed TP:The terrain close to the plane position is grainy and flickering. The funny thing is that I have this problem with AND without TP loaded.world-jewels.com/va/extra/2007-12-13_23-55-15-285.jpgandworld-jewels.com/va/extra/2007-12-13_3-42-29-31.jpgthanks again!Gabriele

Hello Christian and all the simmers here!My first post so, congrats to Christian for his new family!Ok...I have installed and run TP for FSX and...1) Flights take for ever to load - Maybe it's because I use the same drive for both progs but since I have read on the user manual that the new version should load very fast so... 2) I have read that the grainy images are the result of a medium or low level of details radius (as wrote in the section "Improving visual quality of specific map services") - I kept that setting to the MAX and also the other sliders are very high. Nothing fixedAlso, you talk about a "zoom level remapping" - where is this? In ProxyUser.ini?3) What is …

Hey there, I am a new tileproxy user installing on Vista 32 with FSX SP1. UAC is disabled. I receive an INSTALL FAILED error when opening tile proxy with the following information:proxyUser: Connecting to the filter ...Tile API: Using network module 'libnettile'Network module 'libnettile.dll' could not be loaded.proxyUser: Initialization of TileAPI failed!Press any key to continue . . .Any ideas?

Grab it from sourceforge. As always: source code is included in the installer package.http://sourceforge.net/project/platformdow...group_id=195231I am also considering to put it up into the avsim file library soon.

I am testing the new installer features for Beta 6 right now and there are just two showstopping bugs that I need to fix before release. The first bug I need to fix is a crash on or after entering Captchas. The second bug is a performance issue that occurs during flight where HighRes tiles are loaded at locations far away from the plane. Since this adversely affects performance (and it accesses the tile providers more than necessary) I have decided to hunt for and and eliminate that bug before release. This is probably the last Tileproxy version running in a DOS box. The next one will be aiming for your task tray ;-)

Does anyone know if G****e lowered the number of files we can download with TP before adding the IP to the blacklist ? Since last night I can only download about 300 files before I start receiving the usual message.I reset my modem to obtain a new IP, but after downloading more 300 files or less, the new IP's are blocked, too. Before last night I rarely got blocked and I used to download thousands of files at each time.

Hi,some people previously expressed interest in being able to manage the geographic areas for which tiles are currently cached. This little tool will allow you to graphically browse the locations where tiles are currently cached and you will be able to selectively delete them by location, by age or by resolution. The tool is quite unfinished, but you get the idea. A world map overlay would be kind of nice, at least outlining the continents.I expect to include it in the next release.Christianhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/180600.jpg

hello christian, everytime a new real-time map service appears for a particular part of the world, inevitably someone asks you when you will integrate it into TP. well, allow me to jump on the bandwagon.it appears there is a new site that delivers up to 15m pixel images for Antarctica:http://lima.usgs.gov/index.phpthe reason i bring this up is because Antarctica is such a remote and unexplored place, truly man's last terrestrial frontier. it would be endlessly fascinating (to me) to be able to explore it via TP.admittedly, i have no idea if this is technically feasibly. but still: could this be used as a terrain source in TP?
