Hi Christian, with Tileproxy_Beta7_latest.zip and FSX SP2 (Acceleration) I'm getting lots of "TileAPI: Invalid water mask size before final rendering." messages when I set water_mask=Off in the ProxyUser.ini.Thought you might like to know and check if it's a bug...See ya!-- Wolfram Ravenwolf

Hi ChristianI am really enjoying TP on FS9 - yesterday I was flying around the Seattle area, the weather was cold, damp , foggy, etc ( standard for Washington State?? :-) ) - the combination of TP and the downloaded real weather was positively spooky!! I tried to poke my way into the mountains but had to retreat. Looking at the Skyvector.com website showed me that many of the small airports in this area are closed for almost 6 months during winter. A real challenge to fly in compared to my usual flying in Australia. But my question is this - I know that TP basically "switches off" default Autogen - but I am just wondering what else it affects or does away with . For examp…

This may already be something you thought about and might even plan for a future version, but here's an idea I've been pondering:One major problem with blurries is inherent in the way FSX displays scenery. The highest resolution is directly below the aircraft, with rings of lower levels of detail around the center. And it's loading scenery in a suboptimal order. After all, the most important scenery is the one right ahead of you in the direction you fly/look. When I fly straight ahead, I couldn't care less about the resolution directly below or behind of me, or to the side of me (as long as I don't look there). But since FSX may be busy updating scenery in an area I can't …

Hi, I had originally tried tileproxy early this summer, but I was getting slow tile loading times. There has been a burst of publicity with beta 7, so I decided to try it out. Its working great, Chrisitan you have done an amazing job, now I can get a steady 1400 tiles per second with awsome fps, why on earth would i want to use default innacurate blurry fsx graphics with rediculous fps when i can have an entire photreal world with more performance than I know what to do with? I was able to get it up and running in 5 minutes by following the tutorial, anyone who hasnt tried it yet really should now!

Hi,Can anyone tell me what these represent and why I just can't seem to get rid of them? There is little doubt that Beta 7 version 2 does a pretty good job under SP2, but these anomalies have only appeared with this version of TileProxy in this particular area near my home just south of the Pentland Hills, Scotland.Thanks,Mikehttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/185440.jpg

  9. Hi CB,I installed the Beta 7 Final "Update" and after doing some tweaks to the ProxyUser.ini file can report reasonably satisfactory FS9 performance. (Though Beta 6 seems possibly be a more stable performer for FS9 in general). But, for those who wish to have the new Beta 7 features on board for FSX and who ocasionally will go and fly FS9 too, I'll soon update the Quick Guide (and ini) for this latest "Update" release. I'm thinking of providing a Beta 6 ini Version too for those who plan only to use FS9. Do you plan to leave a copy of the Beta 6 version at Sourceforge? If not, I can provide a copy on my server if you didn't mind. One last question: I am getting a often rep…

Just for the record, if anyone is wondering how FS9 and Beta7 are working together, on my rig at least FS9 works just as smoothly and fast loading as Previous TP Versions, no sweat. Here are some screens from a northbound flight up the Bitterrot Valley, Montana, over the small town of Hamilton, and finally on approach above Missoula.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/184654.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/184655.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/184656.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/184657.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/184658.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/184659.jpg

Before I just updated to beta7 I could run fsx and enjoy the cached scenery.. but now if I don't run proxyuser I just get the default scenery. Is there a way to use the cached scenery without running proxyuser.exe? Also I've been getting some very bad blurries that I didn't get with the older version (not sure which version it was). I'm running fsx under vista. I wonder if it has anything to do with the water masking or any of the new proxyuser.ini settings. Thanks

Hello, I use TP Beta 6.0 with FS2004, and I noticed that sometimes real textures disappear and at their place black squares appear. Sometimes these squares remain, sometimes (but really seldom) right textures come back. I think this is not a problem of lack of texture, since at the beginning the texture is there, and then disappears. Do you have any solution to this problem? Another question: I always fly in the same zone... after the flight, do I have to start CleanUp or is it better that I don't do so, so that textures are already saved for the next flight? What is this CleanUp meant to do? Does it cancel downloaded files? Thank you.

Hi I have just installed Tileproxy Beta 7 in FS9 - and found that on initial bootup, I was getting randomly placed black tiles including at my startup airport of Archerfield Australia. I did this a couple of times with the same resulthttp://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k59/Barr.../Tileproxy1.jpgI tried again after a short break (without touching any settings) and it worked great -no black tiles.http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k59/Barryward12345/TP3.jpghttp://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k59/Barryward12345/TP2.jpgI then shut the system down and tried again - and returned to black tiles again. This is all starting at the same airport and same FS time.Anybody else noticed this…

Is there a 64-bit tileproxy.sys available for beta6 ?I'm currently running FSX SP1 on XP 64-bit Edition and I'd like to try the new beta, but can't as I'm getting the message:Load failed with error: 0x800704fbThis driver has been blocked from loadingI assume this is because it is not the 64-bit version.Any help appreciated. Hi,just dropping a quick note, that getting 30cm/pixel with Tileproxy is possible in principle. I just had my first flights with a test version today and it looked much like the 30cm Oahu scenery from fsdreamscapes. It is still far from being really useful, because the 4096x4096 pixel BMP tiles will be 25 MB in size *each* and some of the arrays used for computing smooth water masks and such will blow up the memory requirements to 1 GB right now *for Tileproxy alone*. Not to mention that it sometimes wants to load 500 and more JPEG tiles from the servers in one shot, just to create one of these behemoth BMP tiles. But I am still amazed that FSX will even consider to load th…

http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/tileproxy/Specific feedback regarding the Beta 7 version may also be posted in this thread.I am especially interested any problems you run into when using this version on Windows Vista.Do you see a huge performance increase over Beta 6? I find that on weaker machines (e.g. my Dual Athlon PC) the performance gains are less noticeable, whereas my new Quad core PC just flies...You will get best performance flying at mid day, where the simulator will not load light maps (as it often would during dusk or dawn). Also it is best to pick local Summer months for flying, as currently ground textures of type Summer are pre-loaded before the flight…

Christian,Fantastic. I did a complete re-load and started fresh.TP dialog window is very diffferent with oval shaped areas showing which tiles are downloaded. The Issue with Vista and corrupt tiles has been fixed (I think). The graduated shoreline colour is much better. The colour of the sea is very good - it was too dark previously. My captchaform now functions.Tiles per second figure is astronomical - I won't brag. The sim runs very smoothly.Very well doneBernard

Hi everybody, some days ago I downloaded the newest version of TileProxy after I saw some very impressive screenshots. To configure it, I went to this page http://edtruthan.com/tileproxy/7.2/ where I downloaded the proxyuser.ini file. I edited the downloaded file and corrected the cache-folder settings (my cache is on a different partition) so it corresponds with the folders I entered during the installation. I did not edit anything else in the downloaded proxyuser.ini.Then I started TileProxy itself via the proxyuser.exe. It seems to work normally and at the end the last line says something like "TileProxy is ready for takeoff". I then started FSX, but after a few seconds…

  21. I installed Tileproxy today and did not check to not change my FS.cfg.I really like Tileproxy and thank Ed for making it easy to use. However, now flying without running Tileproxy I have a lot of flickering or shimmering with trees and buildings.I cannot remember what my original settings were.I saved my cfg but I may not have saved it before Tileproxy changed it. Does it have something to do with antialiasing? Thanks,Ron
