Remember when I said the next TP version was going to bring something new and revolutionary? The next Tileproxy version is likely going to feature streaming of FSX compliant elevation meshes at up to 3m accuracy (where available). Source will be USGS and other public domain material - some of it highly accuate LIDAR data, preprocessed into LOD tiles (~2 MB chunks each) and streamed from a dedicated server as soon as the aircraft approaches the region.Building up of this infrastructure and data base may take half a year. Access will likely require some kind of account (free) so I can monitor and when necessary restrict usage and prevent abuse. Upkeep of the server and the g…

This March 21 update of Tileproxy adds two missing coastal scenery areas in the United States and corrects a serious loading speed issue on Quad Cores when Light Maps were used. Also a texture cache has been added for those who fly with the DirectX hook. Not sure about its benefits or performance gains yet - in fact I even managed to crash my nvidia driver with it twice. So buyer beware ;)Christian

Hi again! After some tweaking in FS9 and using Example 2, I got a honey pot, I think. Now I find the cover so good, that I do not need any default objects (except some airports maybe). So my problem is: what is the easiest way to get rid of all these default rivers and roads, they got pretty bad behavior cutting through mesh and leaving their not nice imprints all over the area?http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/9516/ti...ultriveriy3.jpgI think I have to move out some default BGLs containing those vector objects, but which BGLs?Regards,Rysiek

Is this from FS9? -- my water textures using TP are nothing like that.Barry

Hi!This is a GREAT utility, Tileproxy ...I use v0.7, on FS9.What I spotted is that Google Maps coverage (Example 2? :)) is not the same as seen in Google Earth, in some regions ...Is it possible to set Tileproxy to GE than to GM?Regards,Rysiek

While NY governor Spitzer may have been doing hookers in the hotel room, I am currently in a hotel room and doing hooks. Excuse the pun.I hooked into the DirectX texture interface to see when and what kind of textures FSX is allocating. I had originally intended to accelerate texture loading with this, but it appears during initial load of the scenery, DirectX textures are not yet involved. So back to square 1.Maybe this work could be a precursor to something else... say manipulating the shadow maps to generate ... cloud shadows?Christian

As in another post i found everything was blocky after a re-install of tp7 I found everything to work just fine! After many attempts TP worked and it was amazing!!!!! but it worked once! now everything is grey no matter what source i get my images from. Everything is in my scenery.CFG as it should and everything is checked. I am also not seeing any errors on TP my anti-virus is off. the only other problem that occurs is sometime FS just locks when loading completely freezes i left it for 40mins last night and nothing happened. Any suggestions again.Heres a shot of how my world lookshttp://www.ukmil.org.uk/server/grab.jpg

Hello all,Though I am using the latest version of TP, I still do not manage to configure TP so, that the amounts of tiles per second are higher than - average - 15 tiles/second.Can there be a portnumber problem on the ADSL modem or something like that?Viruskiller off does not change the numbers. All aother unnessesary program's are off.Settings have been reduced to 1,1 meter instead of 30 cm.Still no improvement.I was wondering wether I missed an important setting that has to be changed. Thanks in advance for good idears.Greetings,Bram Stikkel

Is it one or another way possible to run TileProxy on a separate pc and let TP feed FS over a networkconnection?Greetings,Bram Stikkel

Hello all,Is it not possible to change the default autogen textures in such a manner, that only the autogen indications on it will stay and the rest of the texture will be invisible (shining throug, so you can see the photo-textures) ?Thanks for your replies.Bram Stikkel

Hello all on this forum. Is it possible to choose only LOD level 19 in the row of LOD levels that will be downloaded? It seems to me - with absolute no technical background - it is enough to download the most detailed level.Greetings,Bram Stikkel

HiI would just like to thank Christian for finally giving me a reason to use FSX, it has sat in the box since I bought it but I recently discovered tileproxy. I thought FS9 with tileproxy was good but FSX is stunning, now I use FS9 for heavy jets with all the addons installed and FSX for VFR bimbling aboutSuperb program thanks

what is the proper order to have tileproxy working with megascenery. Should I move all my megascenery x above the tileproxy entries or is it fine the way it is? Or does tileproxy need to be turned off completely?Tileproxy sure is amazing.. now I'm flying all over the world just to see what it looks like :)

Hi Christian!First thx for your great programm! I'm using it from the beginning and it gets better and better! keep up the good work! One thing wich bothers me is the bad g+++le coverage in austria..perhaps you can look at the herold maps, they have better coverage. here is the link: http://www.herold.at/servlet/RPsearch?cont...042739035500108perhaps you can make a 5th service, im not able to do it myself :-)thxUltima

This has cropped up again on my system so I thought I'd post the results of some of my tests and a work around concerning the issue. If you get black tiles in an area surrounding your aircraft immediately upon loading FS9 with Beta 7 DON'T FRET. Some tests I've run has shown this seems to be a temporary condition with either your "first load" of FS9, or after switching back to FS9 from FSX, and seems to concern the new LOD pre-load functions of Beta 7. Once you've booted into this "black tile" condition, changing locations doesen't seem to help in most instances. Luckily, there's a workaround that also seems to "fix" it from happening again, either permantly (Step 1) or wi…

I have setup my FS9 INI file to do away with the preloading feature (in accordance with Christian's "trick" to do this) as it was giving me black squares on startup. And I have used Ed's level mapping numbers for increased res close in -- and I am a happy flier. I have always used FS9 as a "geography lesson" - quite additional to the flying/aircraft aspect of the sim. However with default textures and mesh, it never felt quite right. Now with TP and using 38 metre mesh along the US west coast - it is great ..Thanks ChristianBarry

Spent some time in high resolution regions of Service Example 2, experimenting with different hexadecimal color assignments in Proxyuser.ini, to try to get the blend between coastal and deeper water as smooth as possible. I found that the following color is generally the most realistic:water_rgb=#001A1ASee screen shots using this color below; the first one is at CYVR Vancouver and the second one is near HESH Sharm El Sheik, Egypt. At colder seas, which are less green and more grey/blue, you might like this better:water_rgb=#000D1AThis handy website allows you to quickly fine tune RGB colors, and then convert to hexadecimal:http://www.colorschemer.com/online.html

I'm not sure which version of Tileproxy I have installed but it certainly won't be Beta 7. Can anyone advise whether I should uninstall the previous version before installing Beta 7. Furthermore, I have just recently noticed that Tileproxy is installed in my FS9 folder but not in FSX. AS both FS versions are installed on the same drive, will this also cause a problem? I have a mega machine (Quad CPU/500gb sata HD/4mb ram/ATI Crossfire), but tileproxy still doesn't work correctly???

Hi allSince installing the latest version with the pre-load feature, using Service 3 I am getting thishttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/185909.jpgThe "Manage Service Cache" facility is showing me that I have data for 6 levels - and , although the zoomed in map is fairly unclear, it appears to me that the final level that shows in the cache is probably the one that the sim isn't displaying.Beats me!!Barry
