i have been experimenting on and off with TP...thank you Christian and others for all the tips to improve performance. I recently completed a flight across the Cascade range, starting in British Coumbia and ending in Portland Oregon. I hope you enjoy the pix. btw, I was flying at 20,000 feet with an average speed around 200kia.Sherm

I am recreating all of the aerodromes in British Columbia, Canada to match TP photoscenery correctly. For dock areas of water aerodromes I am finding that the coastline (while much better than FSX default) doesn't always match the photograph perfectly. Is there any way to edit TP coastlines? Using Sbuilder seems to affect FSX default coastlines only. Thanks, Steve

Hi guys. This is my problem(s) : As you can see from the attach (I will try to translate it to you but you're probably familiar with it!?), Google recognize my TileProxy searching for textures as some kind "automatic demand of computer virus" or some "spy software application" !? :-mad "In order to protect our customers, we cannot fulfill Your application" !!! Question here is simple - what should I do ?? Yes, I know that I just have to type the right letters here and the problem is gone... but that brings me to my second problems - very often I got my PC freeze in switchin' from windowed to full screen ! So... you can just (maybe!?) imagine my pain when after so much wai…

Having seen recent screenshots using TileProxy I am tempted to give it a try, however I am concerned by 2 things:1. The amount of diskspace that converted bmps take up, as I understand that this can quickly grow. Is there someway of not storing permanently on disk, so that once passed an area they are removed?2. I am currently battling with my system and FSX settings to ensure that texture loading keeps up with the aircraft. When using VFR Photographic Scenery for the UK (the FS2004 version) not GenX, and flying at 80-100 knots in the default Cessna, I find that after several minutes (10-15) the scenery becomes less defined and begins to blur. From what I have read, th…

Help please. The solver of my problem will get a case of beer/soda via Pay Pal. I am at the end of my ropes here. I have the latest TP, MSFS Acceleration, AMD Quad Phenom Processor, 4 GB Memory and PDMG 747-400.I have TP installed correctly (I think)and it does update from Yahoo and the services3 folder is populating. MY ONLY problem is that the tiles are not being displayed when using MSFS. Only the default panels will load and display. I have disabled all scenery except TP world files and it still does not work. AM I missing something here? As I said, everything seems to be working fine with no errors. I have tried different services with the same result. (I…

Hello,I have to turn to the experts for my problem. I have installed the program (I think correctly). I have FSX Accelerator, AMD Quad Phenom, 4 GB Ram.I have TP running and it is updating from Google fine. I am just not getting anywhere near the quality of some of the screenshots I have seen. It seems as if it is still loading the default FSX Scenery. Everything seems to be installed and running fine.....just not displaying tiles???The attached file is a snip from my Sim as it looks while running TP.HELP PLEASETP

Christian! Yoi may want to take a look at this thread in the Hanger section, if you haven't already saw it. You may want to look in to this, for Tileproxy!!http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...35937&mode=full

Hi,I am running Tileproxy very well, (FSX SP2 on a Toshiba Satellite A100) after some adjustements as suggested... BUT: I had to UNINSTALL (disabling it didn't work) my NOD32 antivirus to let TP run. I am now testing Iolo antivirus, which I red let TP run. I am not very happy with this antivirus, and comments on the net are accordingly. Can someone suggest a GOOD antivirus that creates no problems whit TP??Many thanks in advanceCiaoGiovanniBy the way, I reached fantastic FPS (usually between 30 and 50)setting as "Unlimited" the FSX FPS limiter. Don't know if this has been already covered in this forum.

I just discovered this tool and i must say that i fell from my seat, i live in belgium and started to use TileProxy to map belgium, only done the belgian coast because it has a very nice detail ...Oops before i forget, a big cheers to the FileProxy developpers and it's is nice to see another pride of opensource! My first problem is when i start fsx the custom imaging is loaded but it looks blurry, i always need to go in add-ons>FileProxy and choose refresh scenery, after that the tiles are clear and crisp. Is it possible and if someone has the time could explain me how to share the new sceney i downloaded with someone else also running fsx and does not have an internet c…

Well, after using TP very happily for a long while, I decided to do a quick run in "normal" mode - w/o TP.Suddenly now, it seems all my landtype tiles are mixed up, and the ocean is now land tiles. Look at this shot of over Key West, FL.Not even the land seems right for the key.I can't particularly say this is the fault of TP, but am wondering if anyone else has had this happen after running TP, and any suggestions for a fix (besides starting ALL OVER again with FSX installation).Interestingly, when I run TP again, oceans are correct and coastlines look great!

I've just loaded beta7 and can't get FSX (with Accerlation) to finish starting up.The crash seems to happen when the tileproxy window displays the "Diamonds" showing (I assume) tiles that are being downloaded.Tileproxy continues to do this while FSX crashes and restarts a few times, to no avail.I have a Dell XPS 420 Quad, with 4gb of memory and Vista Ultimate with UAC off. I'm accessing the Y***O service.Any ideas?

I tried an earlier version of TP some time ago. That was on a single-core 3500+ with the X800XT videocard. I found that with FSX SP2, I was only getting 40-60 TPS. With RTM, and fiber fraction turned upp really high, I was getting upwards of 900 tps, but the framerate was quite poor, hovering around 10-12 FPS.Now that I have a dual-core system, I decided to try again. Initial results are so-so.I get between 400 - 800 TPS, most of the time it's around 500 - 600. This is lower than what I experienced with FSX RTM on my old single-core 3500+ (2.2 GHz), but 10-20x higher than what I experienced with SP2 on that machine. This results in reasonably sharp scenery, but not perfec…

Hi everyone.I installed that beautiful looking addon for FS9.It's version 7 beta, the recent I guess. When I start FS9 and then open TP, it begins to preload something.Next, when I start a flight, FS is loading quite longer than before. So I guess it's all right. But then I get these miserable textures.I don't really know, where the problem is. I just installed it and startet to fly while TP is running.Any ideas how to fix that?Do I have to enter anywhere kind of a source from which TP should download the textures? I thought that'd go automatically.Hoping for answers.Regards

Hey all, I need help. Every time I load up flight simulator X with the Dos window open in the background, it closes the service with an error message. This has been happening every time I try to load a flight with Tileproxy. Hi,I've just gone back to Tileproxy after some time and having updated some of my hardware (graphics, memory and monitor), though I'm still stuck with an old P4 single core. The sim is much better now so I thought I try to see whether tileproxy worked better as well. I have installed the latest beta (7) and Ed Truthan's config, adjusted for using the H drive for the data and everything seems to run properly with no error messages but there is no imagery in FSX.I have tried several areas in the US where I have had good data previously but although there are plenty of .flat files with today's date in the tileproxy photoreal world0202texture folder nothing appears in the sim…

Hey all - just wondering, once I start Tileproxy, do I close that MS-Dos box or keep it open? The reason I ask is that it closes when FS X tries to start with it open. Thanks in advance,John

I've loaded TP into FSX. Whether I use Yahoo or Google I see the same textures. In the example you'll see the roads simply dead end into water. They're obviously not TP textures. The TP DOS box seems to be doing everything okay. The textures don't seem to be getting downloaded. Loading a flight there's no substantial delay. The Cache file doesn't seem to get any bigger.I don't have Ultimate Terrain installed. The current OS is a restoration of a clean install I did Apr07 when I first got the current computer. FSX has no add-ons that I can think of or see with the exception of some aircraft.I will try to attach pertinent files in hopes someone can see what I've done wrong.Tha…

Inspired by Ed Truthans screenshots of the Florida Keys http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k59/Barryward12345/eds.jpgI tried it out using Service 3 ( which I have been using with some success in the Pacific North West area) - using the default settings in ED's INI file. http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k59/Barryward12345/ym3.jpgObviously dissappointing compared to ED's screeniesSo I tried again using Ed's settings for Service 1 (as shown on his website) - I can clearly see in FLASH EARTH that Service 1's stuff in this area is nicer, brighter and clearer than Service 3BUT - a bit better , but still nowhere near as nice or clear as ED's http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k59…

I was flying along today and thinking about how TP is wasting its time loading all of those tiles behind/beside me when I don't even look at them. What if TP loaded a low-res or empty tile instead to save time and memory. Is it possible to make TP load blank/black/low-res tiles to the sides and behind the plane when flying so that it's much faster ???How about when you request the tile from your service provider if TP just inserted a blank tile instead of even looking for one online and wasting even more resources ???I know that I could no longer look around, but how about a toggle in the menu or something like that.Is it possible or another dumb idea ???

I have both fs9 and fsx installed. When i try to use tileproxy with fs9, after a few seconds it says "Connected to FSX!" and tries to load coordinates from the last flight in fsx. The result is that i get black tiles i fs9, and tileproxy doesnt seem to understand what version of fs it's trying to load tiles for. I've installed tileproxy in c:fs9tileproxy and fsx is installed in c:fsxIs it possible to have both fs9 and fsx installed at the same time on the same partition with tileproxy?EDIT: I forgot to mention TP works flawlessly in fsx

The latest Tileproxy release is dated March 2nd and this could be the last Beta 7 update. It offers preload capabilities for all LOD levels (10 rings in total) and adds several smaller speed improvements and bug fixes.A late bug regarding dithering/rendering of water masks was fixed. Some improvements to cache flushing were made. Now tiles within the LOD 13-17 circles are not flushed from memory, even if the RAM usage quota is exceeded.

Hello Sirs,I started using TP three days ago. I am from Czech Republic (LKAA airspace) and this area is best covered by google maps, so I use google's maps. But I have a problem. When I load flight anywhere on world, Tileproxy loads textures near my airport and... and nothing :( I fly out from this area with nice textures, but tileproxy doesn't load any new textures around my plane (my ADSL modem doesn't do anything, CPU usage is low, so I think it isn't hardware problem or internet connection problem). You can see my problem on this screenshot (taken near LKJC airport). http://www.ukazto.com/?img=2933570~TPPpv.jpg In the right part of screen is scenery correctly loaded (…
