Heya everyone.I finally took several hours of time to fix the "color_hack" option which has been broken since February or March this year. This option colorizes the black and white USGS map segments that are used by one major map provider for most of rural United States. The option also matches their brightness to an underlying low res scenery. Also I added a "High Altitude Mode" to the installer, allowing you to fly over 19m/pixel terrain only. This is often a truecolor version of the pansharpened LandSat imagery (depending on your selected provider, of course). This is for the jet set people who like to cruse at altitude but don't care much for the close-ups. The advanta…

Should I brighten up the Blue Marble scenery (the LOD8 ring) with the next TP update?I find that the inner scenery rings often appear much brighter in comparison. Especially with terrain detail radius set to small or medium, this can look disturbing.Christian

Hi againAll is going well with the program thus far.I have a question and hopefully someone can assist. What does it mean when the first 'egg' (as i call it!) is not being filled in? I recall checking this once before and they were all filled in. I assume this means that all of the tiles have been downloaded. Am i to assume that a bunch of them is missing form being displayed?Any help appreciated and if i have need to change a setting please let me know!Keep up the great work! Simming is sooooo much better this way!CheersDoug

Hi, I am considering to place a NASA Blue marble image into an FSX photoscenery BGL which covers the outermost (LOD 8) level. The blue marble image has 500m/pixel resolution, it is not a perfect fit, but close. The intended effect is that Tileproxy no longer has to serve the LOD 8 detail level, which requires individual 1024 BMP files to produce a single LOD 8 terrain tile.Instead you could increase the LOD radius to medium or high while still maintaining good loading speeds for Tileproxy. The outermost photoscenery ring is taken from the BGL which is a much faster process. The limited resource of "tiles per second" is then spent on higher resolution tiles, which would grea…

HI folks - new here!Just tried Tileproxy and am very impressed. I must admit i had to jump the mental hurdle of 'no autogen' but the trade off was just great. Living in NZ where it is green all the time, the FSX default textures sucked basically! Now with Tileproxy, the land is green as it should be.Admittedly the data is not as high res as some other parts of the world but never the less it does the job!I did notice though that some cities like Auckland and Wellington have a few autogen building in them. Why is that? The autogen fix looks to complex for me but was wondering if Tileproxy could use something like this as a supplier of data?http://maps.live.com/default.aspx…

First of all "I am SOLD" on the whole concept of photo scenery and can see by the developers 'to do' list that this can only get better ...Now some simple questions ...1. Seeing as autogen is non functional - is it best to turn off all together within FSX and will this save processing power?2. Best weather settings presume would be 30 miles clear skies?3. Best to use 1.1m res?4. Turn traffic all the way up?I am sure there are a heap more and will continue to scan the newbie files.Cant wait until the actual airports and runways are the actual photos - will look rather great!CheersDOug

Hi to all, and especially to the TP author, Christopher B.I want to start off by saying that TP has really changed the way we can fly in our virtual world of FS, especially in my full size Learjet 45 flight deck. The first time I used TP a week ago, I almost wet myself seeing my hometown airport looking just like the images I use everyday at work (Im a GIS Technician) out over my right wing as I was tearing out of the airport and heading south. It's an incredible solution to world-wide photo scenery and your efforts along with all the other's who've helped are greatly appreciated by myself. Now on to the subject of my post here- I see in this post:http://forums.avsim.net/d…

Hello!A friend of mine have a major problem with TP under W.Vista 64. After startup, TP's window writes a bunch of errors, like "could not load filter driver" ; "could not translate error" ; "error connecting filter port". So what may be the problem? Thanks for help, if someone can.. :)Regards!

Hello, I'm beginning with Tileproxy. I would like to know how I can config proxyuser.ini in order to download locally textures. For instance I would like to download 5km radius around my position textures zoom 17 and that's all. With my config, TP is downloading textures zoom 15 : 200 km around and 17 : just 1km around.ThanksHerve

For those who are entirely NEW to TP, or having a bit of a pickle figuring out the "ProxyUser.ini" file configuration, here's how to get the new BETA 5 ProxyUser.ini to work for both Y****! Maps and the two other services:First, users must edit the default ProxyUser.ini file supplied with TP Beta 5 so that it knows where to find the online textures. It's not set up to work without doing this, as in previous versions, because of distribution to "End User" concerns. Though seemingly a bit daunting at first for non-technical users, it's a really a breeze to configure and only takes a few minutes to get going. Christian has actually done almost all the work for us already. …

Hi Folks,Have installed Beta 6 for FS9 and the modified .ini file. I've read through the doc's but maybe I've missed something. When I start TP I get the DOS black window which shows lots of text including this error 1060 line at the start. It also tells me that the specified service does not exist as an installed service.I have set it for service two.Any and all help appreciated.Thanks.Regards...Kenny

Can someone please email me a working INI file using G**gle for FSX. I have read every post, TileProxy instruction manual and started with the base INI file that is available on the net and everything else I can find, but nothing works. The strange thing is I was able to set up an earlier version of TileProxy, but this time around I just can't seem to get the INI file right. Let me know if you need any additional info. I apologize in advance if this type of request is not [email protected]

I have recently had some connection problems so have not been flying with TP for a few weeks. Having got back I find that I am still having the same problem as before namely the TP shuts itself down after loading scenery (but it can also shut down during a flight). At this point the scenery becomes corrupted. It is possible to re-start TP and it will pick up from where it left off only to crash again.I am flying over Scotland using GE or VE.This is my ini file, can anyone see anything wrong?## Start a line with # to comment it out.# Turn your text editor's Word Wrapping OFF for editing this document.## Read the manual for help with configuration.
