I have just installed TileProxy and I am not getting any Black Tiles. But all the scenery, such as grass, roads, mountains etc are black. I have tried to follow the instructions regarding proxyuser.ini file, but no change. I am not very technically inclined, so any simple instructions would be great!FSXVISTA AMD 649800 GTSMarkH

Hi,recently I tried tileproxy. during the first installation attempt the installation locked; I forced the installation program to close with task manager, restarted the machine and tried to install it again. This time it worked. I uninstalled tileproxy in the same day but since then, svchost randomly crashes, when it happens I can't close any window and can't turn off pc, I have to reset the machine through the front button. Can you think of any reason this problem may be related to tileproxy? My pc is an intel e8400, 4gb ram, 9800gtx+, windows xp 32 sp3Let me now if you need of any other info.Thank you

First of all, thanks for a fantastic program. I have it working on one computer using FS2004, and it works great. I have been enjoying it very much.Bouyed by my success on my FS2004 machine, I decided to try and install it on my FS2002 machine. My sons and I fly together on the two machines using FSHost. The specs for it are: Compaq Pentium 4 1.50 GHz 1.50 GHz 512 MB of RAM 1 GB of Virtual RAM SAMSUNG SV1021H 34GB HD ATI Radeon X1300/X1550 Graphics Card Omega 2.8.442 video drivers 5 GPS WIFI connection Windows XP Service Pack 3 FS2002 After installing it, I copied over the same tileproxy.ini file I used on my FS2004 setup. However, while FS2002 is loading, I get the fol…

  5. My family and I used to live down on the Gulf Coast of Texas, but decided to move further inland in the aftermath of Hurricane Rita. Hurricane Ike and another hurricane in between confirmed that our decision may have been a good one. With Tileproxy now working on my FS 2004 computer, I made a flight from KBPT to Galveston Island, with Tileproxy turned on. I thought that maybe enough time had passed that the images would be post-hurricane; but they (as well as those on Goggle Earth) are pre-hurricane; giving a picture of the way things used to be.This is a stretch of the coastal highway (Hwy 87?) between Sabine Pass and High Island, Texas. This stretch of highway was close…

I've been using TileProxy for a while now and was wondering if it is possible for geographical areas that have very low LOD tiles available when using certain services, to display the default texture tiles? For example Northern Ontario just has low res crummy textures now when using TileProxy. I use Ground Environment X, and it would be nice for the default FSX textures which GEX replaces, to be shown in areas that have very low resolution or LOD coverage. Thanks

Hi AllReally getting to grips with Tileproxy now and have tonight made an interesting discovery. Was running FS9 at 1280X 1024 and getting blurry tiles if I went much above 65 kts TAS.Dropped resolution to 1152 X 864 and am flying along above 100kts with perfectly crisp textures and clearly better texture loading times.Worth trying this on your rig if your having problems with texture loading and blurries.System:AMX 5000 dual core7900 GS Nvidia graphics2 Gigs DDR2 RAMHope this helps somebody. Can I ask for some feedback if anyone benefits.Cheers, IAN

  11. I had TP Beta 8 running just fine on Windows XP...took a break for a week. Next time I started TP, my system crashed...recovered from a serious error. I reinstalled FSX, and TP, and now I get the filter port error. Any ideas? I have been through the forum, and have tried everything I could find related to this error and Windows XP. Curious thing is, I had not changed anything on FSX or TP between the time it worked and the time it crashed my system. Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi ChristianI just want to thank you for all the hard work you've put into this project. I was unsuccessful at making Tileproxy work in Windows XP (the 0 accesses problem), but I was able to use the advice given on this forum to configure it to work in Windows 7 beta. I'm grateful to yourself and the other forum members for this. I can understand why people say 'once you've used Tileproxy, it's hard to go back! It really transforms FSX into something much better - you can now explore the world instead of exploring MS generated terrain.I hope that access to map servers will continue to be possible despite the recent loss of a prominant server. Thanks again,Mike

Just wanted to jump in and say or give my gratitude to mr. Buchner.Been fiddling with flight sims and anything that resembled flight sim since 1990 and my first 286 machine.Im a computer programer although studied hardware. Never ever something like this impresed me so much. Probably not so much in technical sense than the end result. Its just incredible, im sure many and many had the same idea, but noone had time, will, commitment, knowledge, urge, enthusiasm , devotion, passion and love for flight to do this.I congratulate you dear sir, you made my first decade in 21st century complete.wish you all best Thanks to all forum members too, i would never get the tileproxy to w…

I could need some help with the %l, %x and %y variables as they result in way to high values causing TileProxy to load textures that are outside of the ortophoto coverage area. All textures in FS2004 gets blue.In ProxyUser.ini I have set up the tile path ...raster/%l/%x/%y.jpg|...This result in URLs like ...raster/13/4234/1719.jpg...The correct values should have been in the area of ...raster/13/610/632.jpg...13 is the zoomlevel and x and y values double when zooming in one step.Is there any way I can modify my URL so it will be correct or is the map service I'm using not compatible with TileProxy?

Ok, now that it works, and it works perfect without any tweak more what I had before (SP2 known tweaks), it's absolutly fantastic !I have less blurries then with normal photoreal scene !!I had a fly on the example3 server, with the florida keys settings, over South Brittany coast...Thanks to the author for this fantastic tool.A little question : If I only select a departure airport without any destination, as I did before, the photoreal zone finishes after a while and ground and sea come back to be the standard FSX look. (I can see perfectly the limit on the sea).Is there a way to extend this area before flying, will it stay like that and that's all, or if I'm patient, w…

Hello,I've just installed tileproxy on my system.I use FSX SP2, with UTX europe/canada USA, GEX and FEX (I hope that there is no compatibility issue). My system :Asus M4A79 deluxe, phenom 2 940, 4gb ram DDR2 1066, Geforce GTX 260/2 (core 216, 55nm). Windows XP pro SP3I followed very carrefuly the quick start-up guide and chose to place TPcache and "TileProxy Photoreal World" in a different place then my OS drive.FSX is on my D drive , TP cache is on D:\TPcache and "TileProxy Photoreal World" is in D:\TPworld.I checked that the cache folders were OK in the proxyuser.ini (D:\TPcache\cache.service1...etc).I chose my source and of course I saved.I restarted the PCI started ti…

Hi guys, I tried using the search function but didn't come up with anything. I wanted to know if it's possible to turn off the FSX generic scenery in order to just run tileproxy over the top of it. I know that the airports will not be detailed and runways may not be in the same place but is this possible and if so how would you do it?

I'm know this has probably been answered but it is 2:53am and after trying to figure all of this stuff out before my baby starts crying again, I've finally given in. I'm using yahoo maps, and according to flight simx from what I see on the ground, it is nothing like the actual maps I look at on yahoo! It does not even look like i'm in the right state! Am I doing something wrong? Or do they just occasionally not match to the simulator? I was just trying to fly over my hometown which I know like the back of my hand, and I'm seeing nothing familiar. So if anyone can answer this, I'd appreciate it! :)Thanks, Now it's time for sleep. . .I hate when I get deeply involved with c…
