After using Tieproxy extensively for some months now, what I notice is that most of the map textures would benefit from being a little darker and perhaps a little more contrast on occasions. How difficult would it be to add settings to Tileproxy to allow for this Christian?Just a few extra lines of code or a big job?Cheers, IAN

Hi , I am a keen photoscenery user, I feel the stocK FSX scenery and autogen, just looks terrible. I have been very impressed with the screeny's I have seen of tileproxy in action, it looks as good as my megascenery. I have some quick questions:1) In relation to my machine specs, how should tile proxy run?2) I have a 8mb internet connection DSL, is this ok? 3) I run Vista64, how problematical is it going to be to get tileproxy up and running?4) Where can I find the best download service for the images? 5) what is the realistic top speed of flying you can do? I primarily fly vfr in small aircraft. My primary enjoyment in FSX is the scenery and feeling of "being there", so …

Really??!!If I am reading things right. with my limited knowledge, there appears to be links out there where Google is helping people how to use their product for use on their own website, whether u want to make overlays (meaning tiles) or other use for FREE !!! They even give you plugins, code and instructions for programmers on how to do it. I will offer some links that might be of interest. However, regardless, I am no software programmer guru. In the little bit of reading I did, I quickly realized this exceeds my pay grade. So if I'm reading what I think I'm reading, it might be of some value to TileProxy and yet again, it might mean nothing. Anyways, I'll post …

Hi everyone,I've just put in a second hard-drive and have moved my Tileproxy world and service cache folders over to it.I don't want to loose the data I've ben building up or change anything by trying to reinstall tileproxy.Which files do I need to edit to ensure FSX anf Tileproxy read and write to my new E drive rather than the old C drive?Would it be wise to set up:E:/Program Files/Microsoft games/cache.service1E:/Program Files/Microsoft games/TileProxy Photoreal Worldor simply access from the root directory of the new E drive? Thanks, IANThanks, IAN

Hi all... The already established server: #source=Service Example 3 (Yahoo) works great for me in the USA. However I would like to see TileProxy work in Europe and the UK. The other options do not work there. I get either black screens or distorted tiles. Can someone please tell me what I should type in the list below, to get good results in Europe or the UK? #source=Acme Globe Service (is the fake)#source=Service Example 1 (Virtual Earth)source=Service Example 3#source=Service Example 4 Thank you very much... :(

Good evening from Paris.I've just installed TP and reading carefully the manual, I see that you suggest that antivirus and firewall be disabled to let access to the maps sites freely. As far as I'm concerned I do not want to do that for fear of any contamination of my pc by viruses and spywares.I use Avast antivirus and Spyware Doctor of PcTools. I can authorize specifically the firewall and antivirus and antispyware to let access to a specific site which I have to declare in the form : www.xxx.com I checked under service 3 the url used for yahoo maps but the way it is formatted wont go in Spyware doctor as it is.If I use www.maps.yahoo.com internet links me to french map…

Is there anyway to load the default night scenery textures with tileproxy enabled? I understand that it wont be aligned right but it certainly is much better than flying in pure darkness over a major city...

Just curious if it is possible to display the default FSX autogen and addon roads like Ultimate Terrain over tileproxy's textures? The reason I'm asking is the regions I fly the most only have low resolution textures for the most part, but they wouldn't look too bad if I could have the autogen and roads on top of them.

I have, insofar, been able to get Tileproxy to work with FS9, but would like to see better. If there is anyone with a config file that will enable better resolution, will they please either post it here or email me? Thank you very much.

Christian,The Tileproxy default setting of 1.33 kills my modest machine when flying near airports or other scenery so I've knocked it down to the FSX deafult of 0.33 and everything is great, top frame rates again. Where did you get this 1.33 number because I read from a Aces dev that it only goes up to 0.99, has anyone experimented with this number? Also the TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=400 that Tileproxy adds, the same dev reckons 40 is the high end for this tweak. I've chenged it to 40 and it seems to be much better, textures pop back into clear view a lot quicker, where did the 400 number come from? I can fly about at 200 kts or more with the 40 setting and it works great, se…

Hi All,Boot takes about a minute, then another two minutes for Tileproxy & FSX to load, then select (or create) a flight and wait 5 minutes to load and you're talking near to 10 minutes from pressing the power on button to flying. However, Let your PC hibernate with FSX and Tileproxy running and you are flying in less than a minute from pressing the power on button.IAN

GuysWhat are these files anyway and is there something special about them?EDIT: whoopsie, I edited the original posting, instead of replying. cianpars was asking about the .FLAT files and what their purpose is and whether it was safe to delete them (the defragger complained it couldn't defrag one of these)

I came across the simtours website and thought I'd visit some of the places on there with tileproxy and it's a different game altogether now. What a program. I'm not using any big res settings or caching high res 30cm stuff , just the standard 1.1m/pixel resolution. Load up and fly. It streams great even on my modest setup with a Geforce 6.My Proxyuser.ini settings aremax_lod=15preload_min_lod=9preload_max_lod=15min_level=9max_level=17level_mapping=9,10,11,12,14,15,16,17,17FSX is set to 1.1mlod radius 4.5If anyone wants to post some comparison to default shots just pause the game, press V to take an in-game photo then save the game. Close FSX and tileproxy and load your s…

Hi everyone!!Thank you for this fantastic software, it works just perfectly!!If you excuse me, i'd like to pose a question:Recently I discovered Terraserver and I realized that it has by far the best coverage of the island I live in.It also seems that they have exclusive imagery on many places that today on G++gle Earth are only avaliable on TerraMetrics Image.So...Is it possible to use Terraserver as a service?? That would be excelent ;)I've already tried to configure myself but without sucessI really appreciate your helpthanksTerraserver adress: http://www.terraserver.com/view.asp?

:( Would some body please tell me that in the scenery library, there are two radio buttons for each file. Do I need to select the "Cache this Scenery" button for every world file (from 01 to 91) in TP photoreal world files and UNCHECKED the optional box"Empty this scenery cache on exit" for better performance or to use the sceneries later when you fly the same situation again ?Many Thanks

Christian,I'm 'studying' the development of your generated scenery files (in case I ever need to modify just a small area without having to delete a complete region of the world). Two questions with hopfully simple answers:(A)I can locate lat/lon of created .FLAT files but I am currently mystified by the significance of the seasonal variations at the end of the file name; do they mean perhaps differing resolutions of the same geography? These are examples: (positioned in the Gulf of Oman, just south of Iranian coast)0131333111LM.FLAT0131333111SP.FLAT0131333111SU.FLAT(B)Is there any significance to the seemingly fixed and commonly occurring sizes of the .BMP files (2K, 6K, 2…
