how to prevent my antivirus and firewall from blocking access to yahoo maps.

Good evening from Paris.I've just installed TP and reading carefully the manual, I see that you suggest that antivirus and firewall be disabled to let access to the maps sites freely. As far as I'm concerned I do not want to do that for fear of any contamination of my pc by viruses and spywares.I use Avast antivirus and Spyware Doctor of PcTools. I can authorize specifically the firewall and antivirus and antispyware to let access to a specific site which I have to declare in the form : www.xxx.com I checked under service 3 the url used for yahoo maps but the way it is formatted wont go in Spyware doctor as it is.If I use www.maps.yahoo.com internet links me to french maps like in the yellow pages!!!! and if I use the http\\ format in the Proxy ini file at service 3,replacing Http by www, internet tells me there's no such site accessible!!!!!So my question is what should I do, to solve the matter? Thanks for a coming helpClaude Paris-France

Bonjour, Claude,For the same reasons as you, I configured my firewall and anti-virus software (ZoneAlarm and AVG8.5, respectively) to whitelist specific programs (eg, TileProxy) versus specific urls. If your programs offer similar functionality, you might give this a try. Further, I haven't noticed any difference in performance between having both security measures enabled versus disabled (actually, completely removed in the case of AVG which would continue to load its core program despite all my attempts to stop it). Of course, your experience may be different, but I hope this works for you too.

Bonjour Thanks for your info. I think I found the proper way to enter the right phrasing of the links in the antispyware. I'll try it again. I dare not disable the anti virus and spyware because even with them I get alerts. Those hackers have a lot of imagination as you know! So precautions are my rule and backups too!I'll let you know how it works.
