Read the instructions from the tileproxy website, edited and put the ProxyUser.ini file where instructed. Created TProxy on separate drive from FS9. Started TP, started FS9 waited 20 minutes. Cache.cache3 folder created in my TProxy folder on separate drive. Loaded a flight starting at my local airport K13 in USA and waited another 20 min. Status bar seemed to go as fast as usual with no pauses, only my usual FS9/UTUSA textures seem to be there?I have a pentium core 2 duo, windows xp system. In addition I notice in the Start TileProxy window at top it says-Proxy User Individual Tile Accesses 0, 0.0 per second, 13808 preloadedThe tileproxy window shows 4 of the …

I just installed Tileproxy for FSX in Windows 7. I previously ran this in WinXP with 2GB memory with no issues. Now I'm using Windows 7 (32 bit) with 4GB memory installed (3.25 usable) and after flying for about 30 minutes I get an error in TileProxy which causes the program to close down.TileAPI: not enough memory for final alpha mask!TileAPI: Missing alpha data before final renderingPrior to this happening I can see (in windows task manager) my available physical memory slowly decrease to it finally reaches "0" then the error occurs :( Any idea why this could be happening and what I can tweak to fix this? Thanks,Damage 257th

I just recently finished installing TileProxy using Ed Ruthan's quick guide. I installed it for FSX and am using Yahoo maps. When everything was finished I opened Tileproxy and waited for it to be ready. I started FSX and within the first 15 seconds or so I hear three pings. The same sound Vista makes by default when a download reaches 100%. After a few more seconds I get the following message:A Fatal Error Occured......Microsoft Windows is searching for a solution.I read through troubleshooting in the manual as well as the frequent problems and found nothing. I also reread the quick start guide to ensure I did everything correctly. Finally I've tried running as administr…

Hi folks, im pretty new to FSX but having a wonderful time so far, still not finished the beginner missions as yet, but its all a learning curve I guess. The only add on i got so far was a highlands and islands (scotland) scenery pack, which seems better than the standard, but i can see that some of the mesh underneath, while ok, isnt quite right in places I am familiar with. I was completely blown away by some of the tileproxy stuff I seen on youtube, following a couple leads, the creator of the prog reccomended the standard mesh be replaced by :-Include the complete set of srtm 3 version 2 mesh filesfor Europe - This package is part of the freeware world widesrtm 3 v 2 …

Hello everyone,I am brand new, managed to get Tileproxy set up and running on my windows 7 x64 machine without any help just be reading Ed's site, and I can see the scenery when I fly and it looks decent, but when I fly over fresno-yosimite in 30cm/pixel mode, I do not see the amazing scenery like the pictures on Ed's site, it is more blocky much like the 1.1m/pixel pictures. No matter where I fly, or which service I try, this is the kind of scenery I get. I have max_lod set to 17 in the proxyuser.ini, and I have the texture resolution set to 30cm in FSX. I have a very fast new 3 core computer with 4gb of RAM, so it should not be a loading issue. Tileproxy program is…

Probably many people already know this and can regard this message as redundant, but I found out that setting the Texture Quality slider in FSX to medium dramatically improved my performance and FPS. I noticed no real visual degradation in combination with this slider while using Tileproxy. Just wanted to share this info...

I am sure not complaining but it would help me understand more how TP works if someone could explain this to me.My five minute standard test flight (Honda Jet 2500' 275 knots over Seattle -> KSEA -> S20 - and then SE) consistently showed an average FPS of 9.6 to 9.8. I changed ProxyUser.in max_lod from 16 to 17. I just wanted to see how much worse my frame rate would be at max resolution.I was shocked when the average frame rate for the next two standard test flights was over 19.6. I made that ONE & ONLY change between test flights. FSX runs on a stripped down system dedicated to gaming. NOTHING runs on the machine when FSX/TP runs. I use Process Explor…

  13. I am a very happy tile proxy user but my FSX frame rate has gradually been slowed to where it is hard to land a 120 knot plane - FRAPS is showing 4 - 5 fps at SeaTac when landing - it had been in the 12 - 15 range.I don't think this is a TP problem but need to eliminate TP as a component in the testing process. I have a standard FSX flight that I use for all testing - I use FRAPS to record FPS for five minutes. My test data was initially collected with no TP running and no TP cache files in the system. How do I make FSX load and run using standard FSX scenery and the other addons that I had before TP? I do not want to flush all my cache files - I just want FSX to run as…

I, not too long ago, had TileProxy running satisfactorily at LOD 17 (Level 19). I have since done a complete re-install including the OS (Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit), FSX with Accelerator and TileProxy. I am using the same FSX.cfg file from my prior installation. I am now getting the following errors starting at LOD 16 (Level 18): nettile: Transfer #45 received HTTP response 400 (http://us.maps3.yimg.com/aerial.maps.yimg.com/img?x=48897&y=28853&z=0&v=1.9&t=a) nettile: Transfer #47 received HTTP response 400 (http://us.maps3.yimg.com/aerial.maps.yimg.com/img?x=48899&y=28853&z=0&v=1.9&t=a) nettile: Transfer #48 received HTTP resp…

  15. I was wondering how this might work, as i have been recently flying in the Alps, where coverage is a bit variable using service 1. Some areas are fantastic, then you get really terrible patches. As I have Switzerland pro and also Frank Dianese sceneries of this area, I was wondering how best to combine them if its indeed possible. I have tried it out, by starting tileproxy in the normal way and having the sceneries enabled in the library, but the sim crashes after about 5 minutes. And is it possible to use the scenery tiles already created by TileProxy, but without having it running?Cheers Mark

Hi everyone,I have Flight Simulator X Service Pack 1 installed, but when I run TP then try to do a free flight in FSX, the TileProxy window says there's some compatibility problem, probably because I don't have FSX SP1 installed (which I do!). I tried re-installing TP but I still get the same message. Can anyone help?

It's what you do when the glass cockpit breaks - look out the window.I saw tiles in the internet cache and I wondered...I do that a lot these days.So I took a few and compared the naming conventions with TileProxy's system.Converted and copied them into the subfolders of an empty cache. Then realized I needed "more".SBuilder is an excellent tool for collecting tiles outside of TileProxy.Really, I just wondered what it would look like.So I found out. It's too bad I don't have any grandkids nearby that need help with Geography...Loyd

I want to get TP to work desperately but no matter what I do I cannot get it to work. Tp seems to load fine but I have 0 hits 0 access. FSX has scattered non-phototextures of land and water.TileProxy is installed in my FSX folder (G:\FSX\Tileproxy) and the cache and Tileproxy World are located in G:\FSX\TileProxy Photoreal Scenery & Cache. Tile proxy seems to be downloading from yahoo and I see images in the folders however FSX does not display anything. Hi Guys, I just got tileproxy up and running on the new PC after an inintial hiccup with the file paths to the cache folders. Its fantastic on my new i7 with all SSD storage, I am seeing up to 4000 ( Yes, 4000 !!!! ) tile accesses per second at times, and loading times are amazing. All pretty cool, but I am playing with the level mapping settings and got a result i could not explain. I started with this setting: 10,10,12,14,15,15,16,17. Using the overhead view, I could see that high res tiles were being rendered far beyond what I could see at the height I was flying. So, I thought I would save the PC a bit of work and only get it render high res tiles in the first 2 ring…

I have FSX SP1 and just installed TileProxy 8 Beta. I edited the UserProxy.ini file to select source files 1, 2, or 4 but none seem to work. Disabled Firewall and Norton virus protection. Starting the Tile Proxy application seems to be OK but when I start FSX the log file constantly lists that it cannot resolve Host. Why?

I just "discovered" the Mach Loop the other day and have 'been there' ever since...Since this is where enthusiasts photograph the RAF in low level flight training I thought I'd visit...and just to make it more "interesting", I created 5 fixed location cameras for the area... a couple are the same places the real photographers shoot from.Check the sites below for more information and maps.
