HiI didnt fly with tileproxy for a while and now that I reinstalled it back I have some strange problem with it. There are a ton of timeouts in FSX while the game is running and none when it's paused or preloading. It works like a charm with FS9 on the same system though both ingame and while preloading. My OS is W7 32 bits, I run both TP and FSX as administrator and UAC is off. Other than that everything is default, no changes in services etc Oh and btw I have a fast ADSL line (12Mbit), I've tryied rate=4.0 and 6.0, it doesnt change much. After I choose location in FSX Tileproxy preloads scenery really fast but in game I get a ton of timeouts and blury scenery. Thanks!

Just sitting here thinking how fun it might be if TP had some way to access online sectionals such as those at SkyVector... and yes, I want to fly over a sectional map. For that matter, I'd love to be able to fly over Yahoo street maps.... hmmm...

I know this is a basic question but haven't found an answer...Ok - so I've downloaded lots of tiles, which obviously are "real" since they take up drive space.Question is this: Can these be accessed by FSX without TileProxy running? I didn't see them when I flew without TP running but in the same area... maybe I missed something about choosing them in the scenery setup or something.. not sure.thanks,Andrew

Hi all, Yesterday I ran TileProxy with very few issues...This morning I tried it out and found very large areas of very pixelated textures mixed with correctly loaded textures...Also, some of the areas that were correctly loaded would pop into the "pixellated" version, and then back to the high-resolution version. Sometimes this happened immediately, sometimes the textures stayed pixellated. Not sure if there are some graphics setting I should be adjusting, but I am using the Yahoo maps.Any thoughts?thanks!Andrew

the scenery doesn't show up in FS9. TP fills all the ovals with asterisks and FS9 loads OK, but the default secnery shows. I have XP with SP3. The FS9 installation is stock except I added NOCD. The ProxyUser.ini file is the downloaded version and the only changes to it are to set the cache path, update the map version for service3, update the Mozilla and IE version numbers, select service3, and change the conn and rate numbers. What else do I need to do? Thanks for your help.

There are some numbers in the tileproxy DOS screen that I don't know what they are. See screenshot below. They appear in the bottom left hand corner of the window and seem to gum up the .jpg loading process, as you can see be my tiles per second=0.1 in the screenshot. The system will keep waiting to load tiles into FSX until these numbers counts down to zero and prints "done!" Sometimes, it runs a whole bunch of these countdowns in a row, slowing the tile loading down to a crawl. Why is tileproxy doing this? It's driving me crazy!

Hi everyone,Long time lurker, first time poster! I have just installed Windows 7 and tileproxy along with FS2004. I had FS2004 and TP on Windows XP before and it was working flawlessly. Now that I have Windows 7, I've been having errors when loading the tiles. I am using Yahoo image server and ProxyUser.exe would load about half way then just stops. FS2004 freezes waiting for TP to send the tiles but TP never does so. On my ProxyUser.exe screen I had the following, proxyUser: Individual tile accesses 0, 0.0 per secondproxyUser: Preloaded: 14480, Hit: 0, Miss: 0, Messages: 128............... ............... ............... ............... .............................. ...…

Greetings enthusiasts...If you enjoy TileProxy as I do, you know it can take up some serious hard drive space with tiles and images... maybe too much!Q: Why do I have 'identical' tiles from different seasons in my TileProxy World Scenery Folder?- FAll, HardWinter,SPring,SUmmer,WInter -003001013200012FA.BMP003001013200012HW.BMP003001013200012SP.BMP003001013200012SU.BMP003001013200012WI.BMP003001013200013FA.BMP003001013200013HW.BMP003001013200013SP.BMP003001013200013SU.BMP003001013200013WI.BMP003001013200020FA.BMP003001013200020HW.BMP003001013200020SP.BMP003001013200020SU.BMP003001013200020WI.BMPA: Because you fly in different seasons.FSX has 5 seasonal variations for most …

Hey does anyone know how to get rid of the fence caused by tileproxy?Typically this fence is transparent before installing tileproxy, now after installing it, it makes it more visible. Therefore lowing the FPS even further.Anyone know how to get rid of this fence or fix it?Edit: The fence im talking about is the airport fence that borders every single airport.

HiFirst of all let me say wow what a fantstic progect TileProxy is.Ok am having a few problems.I just cant get the tiles to load fast enough. while in flight am only getting an avarage of around 25 tiles per second. allthough preloading can peek at upto 1000 per second.Ive read all the tutorials and tryed many diffrent configerations from LOD12 to LOD15 but still get the same 25 tile per sec. the sim runs great it just wont load fast enough while in flight.I have a low spec machine so is it my cpu is just too slow???? just wondering cuz normaly i can run fsx at a smooth 21fps at 1920x1080x32. it runs the same with tp but its just that 25 tiles per sec wont change? heres m…

Hi, am new to this thing, i've installed yesterday and everything work. But i want to ask a few questions, if you don't mind.1. When it cash all files from internet, once, does it load faster second time when you start FS and want to fly from same place?2. I use FS2004, are those settings are good:## Start a line with # to comment it out.# Turn your text editor's Word Wrapping OFF for editing this document.## Read the manual for help with configuration. Do not contact the# author about the configuration for particular services. Thank you.#[TileProxy]# Enable or disable worldwide photographic scenery coverage (Yes/True/On to enable)master_enable=On# Write a logfile to disk…

Hi everyone. I've created brief "quick guide" for anyone having trouble getting TP going, or who has arrived here interested in trying it out. It includes pre-configured Beta 7 Version 2 TileProxy.ini files to save time and minimize errors. Files for both FSX and FS2004 (FS9) are included. Check it out here: http://www.edtruthan.com/tileproxy/7.2It's simple and brief, but hopefully this will help a few new simmers enjoy Christian's revolutionary program without getting too much of a headache.HAPPY LANDINGS! -Ed Truthan

Hello All,I am trying to understand how TP work in terms of what is being stored on the HD and why depending on its (TileProxy.ini) and FSX configuration. This is what I believe it happens, please let me know what you think:1) TP will ask to the Service Provider images between min_level and max_level and create .jpg tiles accordingly, unless:- the Service is unable to provide good enough images for Level X, then no corresponding tiles will be created (*)- max_level is higher than (max_lod+2): in this case tiles will be created up to (max_lod+2)2) FSX will display images according to the Scenery Resolution parameter. I assume that a value of 1m equals to LOD15, therefore i…

Apologies if you know it already. This web site: http://walhalla.mine.nu/fsx.php has a huge collection of photorealistic scenarios of the entire planet. Those scenarios are all freeware/public domain.I have tested a few entries: not everything is 100% updated, but still a font of material that can be used to enhance the TileProxy experiences in areas where the coverage is poor: for example I have found there a Spain scenario which I am going to d/l during the week-end.Cheers,Anubis

Proud to say that I now own the Acer GD245HQ 3D vision enabled monitor and some 3D Vision glasses. In my recently completed "gaming" PC two SLI enabled GTX 260 graphics cards work in synchronicity with an additional nVidia 9600GSO card for PhysX acceleration. The system is running Windows 7 and the CPU is a modest Athlon II X4 620 CPU (no L3 cache).I am about to install FSX to see how it "feels" in 3D ;) Previously I've only toyed with red/cyan 3D glasses.Maybe, just maybe I will find some motivation to take a new approach to satellite imagery within flight simulators.Christian

Fellow enthusiasts,I wanted to responded to some issues raised and questions asked in the pinned 'map version update' thread but didn't think that was the place to carry on the usual Q-A play back and forth. We've just had a map update; should I update and how do I do that. The how is easy... just edit the "map_version=" with the new number in the service configuration sections .Should I update?Observation: Yesterday I went to a location that I last visited several months ago. It's dramatically different looking. Ah, so here is a case, I thought, where adjusting the map version would let me access the older version. Not so.I don't know if there is any actual 'previous ver…

The SIRX Project aims to map Italy (and parts of Switzerland, France and Austria) with a photorealistic scenario at a good resolution (1.1m/pixel and 0.5m/pixel) and on top of it, place landmarks, AutoGen and improve the airports:http://sirx.flightsimulatorcenter.com/default.aspxThe idea is to create a training aid, therefore the project is no-profit and sponsored by the Italian Government. As far as I can understand, everything is ready for the distribution (it is freeware) to FSX users, however the team still lacks some permissions to make the results available to everyone and currently only developers are allowed to use/test it.Most of the site is in Italian, however, I…

If you have problems (like me!) with TP crashing after reaching a virtual size of 4 GB, you can install the following freeware application:http://fsl.sytes.net/watchdog.htmlIt works on every OS, has a small memory footprint and can be used to monitor whether a certain process has stopped running: in this case it will restart it automatically. I have tried with TileProxy and it works fairly wellCheers,Anubis
