I ran across a new feature of intellicast.com that allows to display zoomable radar images and does so apparently by downloading tiles as well. Was wondering if TP could be used at some point to display these images in a map or within an embedded screen or within an existing Garmin screen.

I'm using FSX on a fairly fast computer with a high speed cable connection and using version 8 I get everything to load ok, but then I start flying and it seems as though TP is not loading the scenery as I fly (around 100kts) as everything is just low res blurry. I even orbit the same location to see if things will load in, but no luck. I've searched the forums but haven't seen anything related to this issue. Does anyone have any ideas? Many thanks.

Hi Brainy people Please help me with my problem. After fidling with TP for ages I have managed make it work (or I thik it works in the DOS WINDOWS some masages are displayed like number of pre loaded tiles, number of hits and miss' ) and a little different graphics which looks a bit realastic but nothing near to the screen shots. People say TP disable the AUTOGEN but in my case autogen and generic scenery all there so thats why I can not good photoreal terrainIn the it is mentioned that autogen modelled scenery don't blend with TP scenery or photoreal scenery also it said that autogen can be reduced but no instructios given how to reduce or remove the autogen. So pleas…

To see the best of both worlds use TP scenery with generic sceneries.A: When installing TP do not allow it to modify the FSX.CFGB: After installation take a copy of the original FSX.CFG file and save it to a different folder for safe keepingC: Now edit the current fsx.CFG file manually, only change the linse that are mentioned in the TP user manuall for congiguring the fsx.CFGNow you should see the image looks nicer and sharper but lacks the accuracy it worked for me. If it does not work for you please do not hold me responsible

but leaves the lod rings around the aircraft default FSX terrain? What special trick are they using?I've got photo scenery for the whole of the UK which would be great to pre load and just let tileproxy add the near rings and let my other scenery generate the distant stuff. Is this possible?

HiI was using TP with FSX since the day it was out ans it was a great experience. Now I'm mainly working on laptop that cant handle FSX but runs FS9 just fine. So I've installed Tileproxy beta8 but FS9 doesnt load the scenery. It renders the default scenery while TP is launched and loads tiles. Some lines from the config:master_enable=Onmax_lod=13preload_min_lod=9preload_max_lod=12water_mask=Onwater_blending=Offenable_dx9hook=Nocache_folder=D:\TP\Cache\cache.service1network_module=libnettilemodule_config="conn=20|rate=2.0|verbose=0|server=http://a*.xxx.net|path=/tiles/a%s.jpeg?g=%v|quad=0123|balance=0123|useragent=Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.0; SLCC1; .…

HiThis impressive youtube clip shows the effect of placing trees, houses etc at exact locations on Tileproxy scenery.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGtXczwLTrAThe tool is called Whisplacer and written in Java. It outputs XML files and optionally BGL files with the scenery information.http://lc0277.nerim.net/wiki/index.php?whisplacerThe objects are not Autogen, but custom scenery. So they show up on Tileproxy scenery.Christian

Hi Guys, Like many of you, 'I've spent hours and hours trying to get the best out of Tileproxy, so I thought I would share a few successes. It would be great if you try any of them and they work well for you, that you add a reply. Also, if anyone else wants to share their success stories, here is a thread to do just that.1. My most recent discovery is that the LOD radius setting in the FSX.cfg is set by default to 4.5. Tileproxy looks fantastic if you set it to 8.5 though my system was not really up to that and I got low framerates at detailed airports. I've settled on 6.5 as a good compromise, though 8.5 is good if I keep away from the airports. Beware though that…

HI, having bought a new HP Pavilion DV5 laptop with support for CUDA (by means of a 9600M GT graphics card 512MB GDDR2 memory), there is a good chance that I feel like resuming work on Tileproxy. The GPU is fast enough to handle most recent games, including FSX (not with details maxed of course) I would likely want to explore using the graphics chip for post-processing and compressing textures as well as creating realistically lit city textures for night flying. The major drawback might be that there may be a dependency on CUDA (nVidia GPUs). If possible, I will try to keep this optional, meaning that without nVidia chip you'll see the CPU doing some of this work where fe…

I just installed TP Beta 8 for the first time. I've never used TP before so this is a new install. As soon as I load up FSX it begins preloading tiles like it should. Then however when I change the airport for departure TP stops and says user aircraft changed location and then never does anything again. When I try to click Go Fly in FSX the program then hangs and does nothing. I also tried setting up the airport first and then starting Tile Proxy but then it hangs FSX when I try to click Go Fly again. Any suggestions?Brandon

Ive searched and Ive read the manual, and I have a big hurdle to step over right now. Here is my issue:On Vista 64 bit you must enable loading of unsigned drivers in the Boot Menu (hit F8 early during boot to do that).I cannot do this. F8 brings me to a boot screen that asks me what I want my primary boot device to be (ie NVRaid Stripe or dvd-rw). These are the only options available to me at this time. Is there another way to circumnavigate this problem?

Hi.I have started to test out this fantastic software Tileproxy Beta 8 and it is basically a long life dream coming to life. However im sad to learn that Google is no longer possible to use. They were by far the best provider over Sweden compared to the other vendors. Im right now using Yahoo maps that provides atleast average coverage over our main city areas. (However they mix winter and summer!)Anyhow, I know someone have tried to use hitta.se without any sucess. But there are one more supplier named www.eniro.se that also provides excellent maps for sweden. But my problem I dont have the knowledge to play around with the .INI file, and on top on that i really dont have…

Hello!Firstly let me say a big thank you for this wonderful program! Using FS9.1 in a corel duo processor, windows vista and a 0,3 meg ADSL line, I have installed TileProxy with all defaults options and I have a good performance and very beautifulsceneries in a flight in the south of Brazil. Actually, I have good frame rates (at unlimited slide), something like 50-70 fps with TP, under CAVOK conditions. I wonder it

Hi Everyone,I'm using Tileproxywith FSX at 1m resolution (system struggles a bit with any higher). The question is, am I downloading unneccessarily high resolution textures or degrading performance with these settings max_lod=17preload_min_lod=9preload_max_lod=13level_mapping=9,10,11,12,14,14,15,16,17,18,19What would be sensible values to be using? Thanks, IANps. I changed blend_distance from 500 to 200 yesterday and got a much better looking margin between land and sea around the UK.

How can I add autogen to Tile Proxy? In TP manual the autor wants to add a specific autogen , that is able to detect forests and create vectorized autogen descriptions for forest areas. An other autor's project is to Integrate TP with a user-friendly AutoGen editor.I hope that these 2 steps will have the priority in the future.Thank you for your GREAT work!PVI Eagle

Hi all simmers, after many years on Flight sim, I finally worked out that zooming right-out (- key all the way), in 2D cockpit, makes the scale more realistic - autogen becomes smaller, and the perspective seems better. Doesn't work in Virtual Cockpit, but I prefer the 2D panel (more lifelike in my opinion), and I like to use the side views for quick glances out the side, rather than trying to move a head around. Another reason I like 2D is the large/clear instrumentation and the rain drops on the windshield - love it. Combined with the sound of the rain on the canopy and the grey clouds, its pretty cool. The reason I mention the zoom settings here is I have just started u…

Hi,is it possible to start ProxyUser.exe in "quiet" or "silent" mode, so that is doesn't output anything at all in the DOS window?I think that should be more CPU friendly and should require less resources to run. Thanks and congrats on this amazing piece of software! :(
