Hello and good day, Captains, For those of you who are short on time, but yet like the idea of making complete flights whenever you can, so as to maximize landings and takeoffs in as short a time frame as possible WITHOUT simply resorting to flying saved and retrieved portions of complete flights, I’d like to share my passion for very short circular flight paths that take you right back to the runway from which you departed. If you own FSDT’s superb Honolulu Airport, and Megascenery Hawaii, this little sight-seeing flight is well worth a try, for the sheer beauty of the landscape that will unfold below your jet as you make this hop. I constructed the flight path …

Yes, I finally got REX 2004 after all those positive reviews and amazing screenshots. I have to say, I am not disappointed. It's the best texture addon I have come across so far. I also have FS Elemental, Flight Environment, and Zinertek Water Advanced. The only texture type open for criticism in REX, in my opinion, is the pulsating water. It's not as subtle as Zinertek. However, the colors of the water are breathtaking, and they seem to go better with the sky colors than Zinertek. Thus, I have decided to keep my REX water until I get really tired of it.Since the sky colores are slightly different each day in real life, I am going to push the random button before each fli…

Hi All I seem to remember spotting the famous Hollywood sign a long time ago while flying low and slow around the Hollywood Hills. Just recently I have been trying to find it again (after checking it's location via Google Maps) but no luck so far. Does it actually exist in the default FS9 or was it my imagination? Trevor

I have a little puzzle. After a reformat and reinstall of Windows XP, I reinstalled my backed up FS setup by installing a Vanilla FS9 and then replacing it with my files. All went smoothly (apart from a few annoying registration issues with "payware" sceneries, but suddenly I have the date (when you end a flight) appearing in US format: MM/DD/YYYY. Previously, this always displayed in British format: DD/MM/YYYY. Does this matter? In theory, no, but it is now adding entries to the FS log book in that format, and as a result is not sorting them into correct date order. It is just a niggle, really. The XP international settings are correct, so I think it is something within FS …

I am trying to get this plane installed but when I run the exe it says it will not install using Windows 7. Is there any work around I can do to install this plane? Or maybe there somewhere I can get the full plane without the installer? (I had this plane on my old computer, but lost it in a hard drive crash) PS: The file I am trying to install is fa18shexe.zip

I am seeking a good freeware Mig 29 Fulcrum aircraft, and the only one I have come across is one over at FlightSim.com that has excellent liveries and external models, but with seemingly a total absence of any flight model that I can ascertain. Pushing it to full throttle gives me 1,700 kts and it ignores all stick inputs. Anybody have any ideas on a good model? I have pegged down a payware one in case all options fail, but I'd rather try a freeware option first.

I may be the only person in the FS9 community who didn't know this but the old Alphasim CVN65 Enterprise nuclear carrier has been radically upgraded. The upgrade is free to licensed owners of the original product. I have used the old version for years and have always thought it was excellent, but in a reinstall today I found out that the Version 2 is way more than just a minor upgrade. It appears to be a completely new model or at the least a radically reworked product that is absolutely outstanding. Check it out - and be ready for some jaw-dropping amazement. If there is anyone who hasn't yet tried carrier flying in FS9 let me know and I'll post a guide to configuring…

Hello again. I am unsure how to isolate this problem. Simply put, FS2004 has started crashing as of a month ago, and it's really annoying. Before attempting to reinstall all of FS2004, I tried to isolate the problem in these ways: -Attempted to see if the crash only occurs at certain airports. -I concluded at one point that DFW landings were a problem, but then I started crashing at other airports, or at cruise altitude, and after taking off from DFW (as opposed to just landings). -Attempted to see if the crash only occurs with certain aircraft. -I use SGA's American Super 80. I attempted to see if the problem had to do with the FSSound module (apparent…

Hi guys. I have the CLS A300 & 767 and the QW 757 in FS9. I noticed that the FMC's of the CLS 767 & the QW 757 can calculate the V speeds for takeoff & landing, but the CLS A300 FMC does not. I installed the ISG FMC & panel gauges for CLS A300. I am unable to calculate V speeds with the FMC from ISG I use for the A300. So my question is, is there a utility for FS9 that can calculate V speeds for any aircraft?

As I am unable to post (or search for info on it) on Eaglesoft's forum due to my account registration not being activated since I registered two weeks ago (yes, I wrote an e-mail to the admin out there), I'm trying to get some help here. After buying the addon and finally having the "MFD Freeze" and "no idle throttle/no reverse" issues solved, I wanted to do some test flights before the delivery flight of my private Citation X. I made the flight plan around KCEA (Cessna Factory in Wichita) on FS Build to know how much fuel I needed and then made ut on the Citation X FMS. Everything goes right, except when completing the performance initialization and confirming it and af…

Dear Simmers, I'm having a serious frustrating problem on my sim. When flying and especially i choose the gray and rainy theme ( for testing) I'm having a drop in fps from 60 fps (locked at 60) to 30 fps where you can notice the bad sutters. I have tried also to lower the resolution of REX clouds from 1024 to 512 and also DTX3 but still the same. I have tried many drivers ( including the latest one 344.75) and even though it is stable I still have the same problem. The only driver that I have tested and I didn't have any stuttering was the 331.58, however as I run the sim in full screen mode, I had noticed a transparent line which was visible at all times while flyin…

Greetings, Just got my new rig up, and running. Specs: Intel I5-4590 (3.30 GHZ) ASUS Z97-K Motherboard Kingston Hyper Fury X 8 GB DDR3 1600 MHZ ASUS GTX 750 TI 2GB DDR5 Is anybody running anything close to mine (or even an I-7), and if so have you tweaked the FS9 configuration file, or kept it stock??? I know over the years many people (including myself) have tweaked it to get the most out of FS9, and their system. If you have tweaked the configuration file can you put down what you did, and what improvements you've seen in FS9. Right now I have everything maxed out with the exception of traffic (50% - Ultimate traffic installed, along with some WOAI pac…

Hi, can someone please confirm if you can use World of Ai aircraft online via VATSIM? If so, can you please confirm how I would have SQUAWKBOX read the WOAI aircraft first, before the provided aircraft which are limited in numbers? Thanks

Hello. I'm hoping someone might be able to answer a question for me regarding photo scenery and the layer(s) it should be on in FS9. Specifically the photo scenery from BlueSky Scenery. I am looking at some of these and have some trouble at a couple of places (that I know about so far anyway). For instance, at KRNO. Some, only some, of that airport is being overtaken by the photoscenery even when NAV2 is tuned to 117.0. It makes sense to me that the airport addon scenery should be on a higher level than the BlueSky Scenery and that's how I have it. But, some parts of the airport are still not showing the way it should. Is it possible something else is …

Hey guys,I just wanted to give you a heads-up, I've just released my first scenery for FS2004. It's for Montreal/Trudeau. I fly to and from there a lot and since there hasn't been any scenery update in the past four years, I decided to do one myself. It's not on the same level as the recent CYYZ scenery by Mr. Di Franco but it's better than the default. You can get it at avsim.com, search the FS2004 Scenery library for "Trudeau" and you should find the page with a description and screenshots. The direct download link is http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=105151Hopefully some people will like it and find it useful. -Erik T.
