How/where is the default setup and how can I change it to a different aircraft?TIAJim

Many have been asking CaptainSim to update their 727 for years now (especially after what DreamFleet brought to the table). Now they finally do solely for FSX. All the customers that's been waiting for their purchase to finally see it's full potential have deal with even more headaches in a sim that can't even run default aircraft decently. Add-on planes of this level don't run well in FSX period and I don't see that changing anytime soon (FSX patch or not). All one needs to do is look to the CS 757 for proof and even a year from now things may not get where they should be with performance and add-ons unlit FS11 or close to it. I started having stuttering problems in FS9 a few weeks ago and no matter what I try the stutters will not go away. Here is a list of what I have done, any help would be GREATLY appreciated.1) I downloaded FS Autostart and set it up to shutdown all unnecessary programs and services.2) Re-installed FS9 but did not add any third party add-ons3) Bought a disk defrag utility and memory defrag tool4) Tried every fs9.cfg tweak that I could find5) I had two different computer techs check my system. After seeing and reading about the AXP 320's gauges, I am so glad at least someone is moving beyond GDI. I just can't take it anymore...FS9 looks beautiful and runs amazing when I fly around in RealAir's Marchetti...but if I switch to something that uses GDI, like PMDG's 747 (I'm not knocking the 747, everything that uses GDI runs pretty bad) I get painfully slow FPS and update rates on the gauges. Thus I have to turn everything else down and FS9 no longer looks nearly as good. To me, it seems like a totally inefficient way of doing things. And I can't imagine what it would do to a sim like FSX - I don't even want to think about it. The word "unusable" comes to mind.…

I have tried but still have not solved this. I have a ATI 9800 XT card and have made some adjustments to Anti Aliasing, AF Filtering, etc, to help improve my display smoothness, but once I return to FS, they only hold for that session or two. When I reduce FS to taskbar and return, or close and return, the settings revert to what they were before I made changes in FS.(Flashing, Glistening, etc.) I try to reselect in ATIs catalyst window then return to FS, and the changes may or may not take effect. It's inconsistent and I can't figure out what's wrong. I do not have Anti Aliasing selected in FS, just in the ATI panel, and none of the "let application decide" boxes ar…

Hi Folks, I tried FSX and it is now back on the shelf until the distant future. I got to thinking that I should really make a copy of my original FS9 cd set since it might be awhile before I move to FSX. I tried to make a backup of my FS9 cd set. Disk 4 won't copy due to the copy protection.Has any one successfully copied FS9 cds. I want to make a legal backup copy for my own personal use. Is there a cd burning program out there that does a bit for bit cd copy?Failing making a copy, can you still purchase FS2004 anywhere?Scott

Could I respectfully ask developers to continue your excellent work for FS9 the last REAL SIMULATOR?FSX is a game and always will be. I will not be chucking any more money away attempting to provide a computer for hardware not available to run decent and good software.Please post your support here so that the 'devs' know that we will be responsive to their products?

is it any good? I suppose its on par with the iris f14, and nowhere near as good as the cloud9? I'm thinking about getting it... I have all these 'outdated' planes that are no longer flown, I would love a nice F15... What I really want is a badass F16, but there isnt any (the lago is purdy old, I've had that too)sooo anyone have it? how do you like it? how smooth are the gauges and whatnot? working radar?

I know that the BUMPY taxiway's and aprons at FlyTampa's KSEA that sometimes make the aircraft unstable and crash into the pavement has been addressed in the past. There were several different fixes suggested on the forums, but I never found one that seemed to be the definitive answer to correcting the problem. Is there anyone out there that knows how to fix this once and for all?It is quite frustrating.Mike

Hey all,I'm using both Ultimate Terrain and FSGenesis LandClass. The UT version is the one being downloaded off of Flight1, and the FSG version is the most recent off the FSG site.Now, the FSG Landclass has an installer. Went simple enough, and does indeed show in FS9. However, there is no FSG Scenery in the scenery library because this landclass is automatically installed in the BASE scenery folder.Ultimate Terrain is automatically installed as well. However, UT does appear in the scenery library.I ran the patch so UT and FSG can run together. But in the instructions, you're suppose to sandwich the FSG Landclass between the 2 UT scenery levels. i just downloaded the ktex addon and i installed all of the rwy 12 libraries per instructionsi can see the new hangers/buildings etc, all have textures on them except the two main big ones, are there but just blank?? i don't know what else i need, there was nothing that came with the ktex scenerythanksciao!Brian S

Hello- Just got Abacus' Flight deck 4 and I see there is a free update to FSX. If I use the update, does Flight deck 4 work on both sims or isit transferred to FSX and that is the only sim it works on after the update?It would be nice to have someone who has done this update confirm the position please.Also, where can i find out if the Hornet has the ability to use auto pilot -I can't see it on the Super Hornet, and on the ordinaryone, the alt;hdg and IAS dials don't have the ability to be changed .Maybe I'm missing something?Thanks in anticipation
