Hello All,I have really been enjoying flying around the 2 Flightzone sceneries (Providence area with George Grimshaw's freeware Boston and especially the Portland area--WOW!). I also have the Rotorua and Tauranga scenery packages from Godzone/Real New Zealand, and enjoy it very much. Is anyone aware of other scenery packages (payware or freeware) that offer a general flight area, like the Flightzone packages, that have detailed airports within a reasonably close proximity of each other? Would some of the Aerosoft Germany packages fit the bill? I just really enjoy hoping into a light GA aircraft and flying VFR from one airport to another using local landmarks. The Fli…

I am having problems with opening saved flights and not having FMC information saved in the Level D 767 or the AP altitude and heading saved in the Capt Sim 707. The problem is worse in the Level D because after about three seconds, the engines stop, and I have to apolgize to my virtual passengers and perform an inflight engine startup.I have the latest version of FSUIPC installed. Are there any other suggestions for me and others like me.Thanks,RH

I am writing a series of flight plans across Europe. I've used Richard Alvarez's excellent mesh (iberiasrtm.zip) for Spain, Gibraltar and Portugal and this works well with Sim-Wings Gibraltar and Girona. I need advice on the best scenery upgrade option (freeware or payware) which will work seamlessly in France, Corsica, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria and Romania. I'm not sure about photorealistc scenery as I prefer seasonal textures. Betel

Hi All,I am trying to do the merge of the Reality-xp weather gauge and the PMDG 737-700 into the EFIS (ND). I own both products. I just found out about the merge as I have not kept up with the forums. I posted in the Reality-xp forum (with no reply) and the PMDG forums, asking, to see if these files are still possible to get. Hi,I am wondering if anyone can help with the problem shown in the piccy below. This is an example which happens to be RAF Lyneham.It is where high res real world terrain meets FS9 (FS2004)'s flat earth society. FS9 assumes all airfields are completely flat which in real life they aren't which means that there are large mismatches and cliffs around the airport.(I don't have FSX but I believe a reduced version of this problem still exists as airfields are flat but sloping)Anyway is there an easy to use utility that could creat a mini mesh around an airfield which could merge from the flat airport into the high res terrain but reducing gradients or interpolating and smoothi…

Hello again everyone. I have always wondered this. Say I want to use dxt clouds in Flight Environment 3 program configurator. In order to use them, of course render to texture must be turned on, or a crash will result in FS9. Doesn't render to texture hurt performance? This makes me think, why bother using dxt cloud textures to improve performance, when render to texture just takes away performance. What is your take on this? I have always been curious to see what others have experienced with this. Thanks for your input.

...a good freeware speech recognition utility for FS9. I just picked up a really nice headset that I want to put to use. I just downloaded Shoot 1.6.4, which looks interesting, but I can't get it to load a profile. I also tried Speech Buddy, but it was very choppy about excepting my commands. Are there any others?*edit* preferably something that let's you interact with ATC like Shoot.

Hi there, I am getting dark edges(linings) to all clouds and it looks very odd.Was hoping that someone out there may be able to shed some light on the reason why?I am using a Geforce 7600GT, have 2gig RAM and am running a dual -core processor.Thanks in advance.Richard

I have somehow lost some of my FS9 standard key functions. Functions that I have lost are the "W", Shift E, etc function keys. I remember that one other I had a similair problem, but I do not remember how I fixed the problem. I recently reloaded UT-USA and if I remember correctly I had this same problem the last time I reloaded the software. Would reloading the config file help resolve this issue?ThanksTom

Hi all, I am trying to create some traffic for one airport using Traffic Changer by Jeff Bobicki. I downloaded some specific addon planes for this traffic, but they do not show up in the aircraft selection menu or the aircraft.txt file when I try to create the flightplans. I then tried editing aircraft.txt file including all the required parameters and saved it, but I now get a run-time error 62 when I try to launch the "plan creator". Has anyone had this issue? Do I need to edit the addon aircrafts' .cfg files to make it available in Traffic Changer?Also, is there a separate flightplan plan creator so I can combine that with my own aircraft.txt file and use TTools? …

For the low and slow crowd, helo or fixed wing, I highly recommend having a close look at Dave Marshall's "till.s47.zip" found here at Avsim. Wouldn't it be great if all the smaller airports looked like this does.Included among many other "goodies" is an excellent rendition of the huge wooden Hanger B. I've been flight-simming for a few years and have hadmy share of probs, crashes, etc. However lately I've beenhaving some puzzling trim problems. No matter which aircraft I use (PMDG,Level-D,PSS or GA,on take off the aircrafts just won't lift off the groundunless I press the numeral 1 key repeatedly. When flying any of the payware aircraft their weights and CG's are all well within the allowed limits. Not sure why this is happening.Possible that I can't see the wood for the trees and thatthere is a simple fix for this. I use a CH Yoke which I calibrate usually everytime before the actual take off. The elevator wheelis usually at mid point or slightly in the up position.An…

While trying to update my Lago Emma Field from version 1.00 FS-2004 to version 1.53(FS 2004, I thought..... things got all screwed up. It must have been a 1.53 up date to FS-2002, NOT FS-2004. Anyway I received a LOT of nasty messages and took me awhile to get things straighten up again. I had purchased the FS2002 version and I had downloaded a free version update to FS2004 from Lago. All is well now EXCEPT when FS2004 starts, it has a "splash screen" for FS2002 !!! Everything else seems to work OK, but I want my FS-2004 splash screen back. PLEASE tell me how to get my FS-2004 splash back. Thanks, jerry

Had FS9 but then a new conputer so installed FSX. Now would also like to use FS9. My question is: Would there be a problem installing FS9 'on top of' FSX? It's usually the other way round. Has anyone done it this way round?TedL
