It seems to me that there was an easy way to open the right seat view out the front windscreen in FSX using 2d view, so that I could maximize the window and put it up on my second monitor, getting a better view of what was in front of me.Is there a way to do this is FS2004 or do I have to buy add on software like WideView, or use the virtual cockpit, which doesn't really give me the POV I was looking for.Sorry if this is to basic a question, but I can't seem to find the right search terms to get an appropriate answer. Hey all,Apparently I am destined to choose aircraft that give me headaches. When attempting to load a new flight plan into the FMC, the old ones are still there. I want to delete the old ones so my FMC is blank when I want to enter a route. How do I do that? Because the originals are still in there, I cannot get the FMC to work correctly. I can load my position, start and stop airports and then the new route but the extra waypoints on the previous route stored is still in there (because the older trip had more waypoints stored). I press the delete button and the appropriate FSK to show them as deleted with a route discontinuity, but for whatever reason, the aircraft is st…

My system recently crashed. After recovering I noticed these lines ratiating from the center of runways. Anyone know what they are and how to cure the problem? I wouldn't normally even THINK of disabling the overspeed warning on my Learjet 45, but lately when I'm flying at 8x or 16x and at 35k I get an overspeed warning at 470 knts IAS that I don't get if I remain flying at the normal sim rate. I really don't want to sit through 4 1/2 hours of blank ocean horizon if I don't have to, but that overspeed warning is annoying, and my wife, and my dogs, are starting to complain!I first noticed this behavior on a transatlantic flight from Newfoundland to Heathrow, and right after installing the registered version of FSNavigator and flying using FSNav's autopilot features. Hi,I recently encountered this strange problem and i wonder if anyone can help:Recently i did a real world flight to Berlin as a passenger and then i wanted to try it in the sim. So i tried to do some practice off line over there at Berlin Schoenefeld airport EDDB. While making the take off run on Rwy25L/07R, the aircraft starts "bouncing" up and down on the runway and eventually crashes above a certain acceleration speed as if the runway is unpaved, or as if you try to accelerate on an off-runway terrain surface. Hi,I operate FS2004 (FS9) and use three screens using the Matrox Triple Head To Go system.Having configured everything correctly the multiple screens are working well and I am very pleased with the overall effect - except that is for one thing. Using the multiple screens I now get huge halo lighting effects when flying at night. This affects taxiway, runway lights and VASI lights in particular. Since adding Ultimate Terrain Europe the other day it also seems to affect the sodium street lighting effect. Just a general plea for help. I had to peform a full system restore on my computer after the motherboard was replaced. I reinstalled all my software without problem except for ActiveCamera. When I installed version 2.1 for fs9.1, it works for KSEA, but the key that the ActiveCamera support gave me won't show as valid. We've gone back and forth for about a week on this to no avail. I have uninstalled AC and even gone into the registry and removed the registry file before reinstalling but my user registration key won't change. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I searched the forums but didn't see anything. Anyone aware of anything that would cause this?Thanks,Eric

Hi all,just want to know if the external models looks like ytheir real world counterparts and if they fly realistically.? Just my opinion, but the 737PIC seems to fly how you would think a 737 should (I'm not type rated in the 37 so I don't really know.), but the external model of the 737 looks a little strange around the nose area I think. I have no doubt that this will be a high quality product when they release their patch and I'd like to purchase it at that time if this is true, and don't worry I will be buying the AirlinerXP A320 when it is released hopefully before 2008.Thanks,Jeff

After using the the Filemon utility from Microsoft ( discussed in an earlier thread ) It was telling me that FS9 was continually trying to open the file fx_strobex.fx which was not available..but it kept on trying to open this file..Upon checking my Effects folder within FS9, it was true no such file was there fx_strobe.fx and fx_strobeh.fx exsisted but not the one I wanted. After searching through all the cd discs and opening the cab files I still have not been able to locate this file...also come to think about it I was unable to locate any *.fx files from those discs !!Can anyone throw some light on this? Is it close? I just purchased the Capt Sim version, and, without a doubt, this airplane is the toughest one I have ever flown, in terms of hand-eye coordination. You have to keep your eye and everything and come in low and precisely at 180-185 knots, with full flaps, and hope for no wind gusts, or you are going to wreck it, if you don't go around. It has practically zero toleration for being off the numbers on approach. I purchased, it at the Capt Sim website for $9.99. Looking over the selection of heavies out there available from upper end payware vendors such as PMDG and Level D, I was wondering what you might recommend for a long haul bird in a complete package.I used 767 PIC for FS2002 and loved it.Not much of any Airbus fan, but I do own the complete line of PSS airbuses, just not currently installed.The PSS 777 looks nice but YIKES the price tag for the complete package is way up there. I am looking for the best EHAM scenery that is frame rate friendly. I have the NL2000 one and it is a killer on FPS and the ILS are a bit problematic. I have tried the demo of the Cloud9 one and I only got 5-8 FPS.Is there anything elso out there that will result in better FPS? I guess our sims are going to be screwed up time wise for the next 3 weeks starting this weekend due to the goverments new energy bill that shifts daylight savings time 3 weeks early this year to this upcoming weekend. Plan your flights times accordingly as Europe's summer time does not kick in until April.

My default flight is in KCHS with the Baron. I recently installed Vista and the following problem emerged. Needless to say, prior to installing Vista FS9 was running great. Anyway, if, after starting FS9, I attempt to switch to another airport the following happens. Only the 2-D screen appears. Outside the 2-D screen the monitor is black. If I switch to another view, i.e., the virtual cockpit, spot, etc., the entire monitor screen is black. I can hear the normal noises, engine, etc. but there is no scenery.Also, as long as I fly from KCHS to somewhere else, the program functions normally. All the views work properly and the scenery displays as it should. But, I've got to …

I have decided to stay with FS9 for a few more years, until the hardware catches up with FSX at least. I am sure most of you are in the same boat. I have Flight Environment, Ground Environment, Active Sky, and Ultimate Terrain installed. Still, however, there is something missing, especially on the ground. I want the general out-of-the window scenery to really look as real-as-it-gets as far as FS9 is concerned. What is the next move for general ground scenery? What works best with what I have installed? And, what benefits would be derived? Thanks in advance,RH

Hi all,I just built a machine:e6600 (o/c 3.0)2GB OCZ gold ram (800)GOForce 7600 BFG (old card)and did a fresh 2004 install.Problem is now when I press the "alt" key or "right click" the screen goes black for about half a second, compared to the instantaneous response I used to get on my P4.It slows things down in the cockpit, as you can imagine.Any ideas on how to fix this?Michael

This has got to be the best Phantom available. I also picked up the Tornado from Lago (mostly for the in-flight refueling module). Pulling up to the tanker in the F-4 is the coolest thing I have ever done in FS9.I also bought the 707 on sale over at Captain Sim...what a screwjob!!!Just a heads up.

Hi there guys, I purchased Samsoft Taiwan a while ago and am having a few problems with it.When I select a gate at the airport rather than the active runway, FS2004 keeps telling me that im gonna collide with another object even though I have crash detection switched off.Also when I load up my PMDG 747-400 at Taiwan, after a few seconds FS2004 crashes. I have tested other aircraft at Taiwan and seems fine, and also tested my PMDG 747-400 at other airports such as Heathrow Pro and it seems fine, but put the two together and it crashes everytime!Can anyone help me or maybe have a suggestion?Kind RegardsGavin Moss
