Hi all,I thought this would be a good thread to start. Basically, I was hoping with the release of FSX that some FS9 addons would be discounted, especially the older ones that were made for FS2002 originally. There have been a few that I've been itching to get, like the Iron Knuckles DC9, but since it's still priced at 25 bucks I may have to pass. Hopefully, there are some good addons out there that are now discounted, please add to this thread if you know of any.Thanks,Jeff

Hey,I done a search on this but didnt find anything so decided to ask, I plan to upgrade my PC soon, and they all seem to come with Vista. I dont plan to go to FSX yet and would like to run FS9 for years to come. My question is, does Fs9 run ok on Vista, and do the addons (pmdg etc) run good aswell?Thanks in advance,Dave

HolgerI was using the NE water runway at Juneau Intl. I was wondering if you put a "cookie" in the form of a "dead-head" underwater there?I've hit it twice on take-off. The jpg screen shot might not show the sparks in front of the pontoons as well as the bmp does.I told the insurance company that there was no way that I could see it. Colleagues,sorry to ask what may be an ignorant question.... When I land a jet or turboprop and press F2 to reverse, does it matter where my throttle (Saitek) is set? Should I touchdown and max throttle, then press F2 for max reverse thrust? Similarly, if I cut to idle then press F2 am I only getting min reversal? What I'm asking is: is the amount of reversal engaged by F2 linked to the throttle position?I'm no newbie, but I have a horrible feeling I've been overlooking something here,Thanks to anyone who can clarifyTosh:-shy

A while back I ordered a trim wheel kit from Steve at DesktopAviator.com. It arrived well packaged and included instructions for the wiring splice into part of the harness in the CH yoke.I thought I did it correctly, but when I would insert the plug into the jack, the calibration bar in FS would slowly climb up as if a capacitor was charging. When I would unplug it, the default lever calibrated and worked fine.Being a mechanical engineer rather than electrical, I wiggled things and thought I saw a brief response. I contacted Steve. He sent me a replacement jack (his expense). No joy, I was wrong in my assessment.Steve offered to check over my wiring if I shipped the …

The Feelthere Forum login appears not to be accepting logon details. It appears to, but then fails to post anything new. Also, looking at today's posts, there's nothing new. Guess that suggests it's been down a while? Guess it could be me, though i've tried on three different machines. I've recently re-installed FS9.1 after a hard drive crash.I re-installed Active Camera 2.1 after I received the unlockkey from the active cam team.The problem is when I wish to load up a pre-defined setupthe active cam window comes up behind the full screen Flightsim, this takes the focus of the Sim and I have to do a ALT-TABkey press to get the the active cam load screen which is behindthe flight sim screen.To load the pre-set I have to then go into windowed mode onthe sim. I've seen this problem before a couple of years backbut can't remember how the behavior was stopped.This is happening to all third party addon's.Can anyone throw some light on this please?CatmarP.S. To Holger and the entire FSAddon Team; I wanted to take a few minutes to personally thank you for Glacier Bay ver. 2 as well as both Tongass and Misty Fjords. I have purchased both Tongass and Misty and personally feel they are the top two software addons I own for value and enjoyment. Being that I am now in bi-focals and have some water under the bridge, I research a product before I purchase it and have not found many other add-ons which I feel as satisfied with. Received this error message on a flight yesterday and found it very strange since I have 50+ GB available free disk space and about 800 MB available RAM at the time of the error message.After I received the error message I didn't click OK but instead tried to click in the FS9 window in the background and FS9 was still running and I was able to land but with very strange graphics - lots of detail missing in the VC and no exterior painting on my a/c and also the scenery at my destination airport was totally screwed up.Anyone with an idea what might cause this kind of error?http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/168274.jpg

Hi folks. I have been using the website,http://www.naco.faa.gov/index.asp?xml=naco/online/d_tpp , to download SIDS, STARS, and ILS approach plates. This is a free site and has come in handy when I plan my routes. However, I need to find a site where I can get the same information for airports not in the US. I know that Jeppesen has payware simcharts, but I would like to see if anyone has any links to other sites like the one I listed above where I can find this stuff for free or at a discount? I want to customize some scenery such as the default 48V where the taxiway leads into a building. I want to remove that and add on more taxiway. How do I remove a building?

about month or so ago..my FS9 Spot view has developed a peculiar problem that I have never had before.When I use the hat switch to view the landscape around the aircraft and move the view back and forth, the aircraft keeps coming closer and closer until the point that I am kind of like inside the aircraft, like the whole thing is crowding me. Its like the radius of the camera keeps getting shorter and shorter.I have Active Camera installed. But I never had this issue with AC on my older PC. Don't know what addons/stuff that I added introuduced this problem.Any ideas?Manny

Fellas,I need help. I have FSX, but got sick of the 'ran out of memory' problem, and the slow framerates near cities despite my new system. So, I reinstalled FS9. However, there is a problem. Everything about the sim works great EXCEPT my aircraft selection screen (where the airplane rotates in main menu) is black. I can't see what airplane I have selected. Is any one having a problem with connecting to the fsmeteo server today and yesterday? I ended up using fs weather.Just tried to go to fsmeteo's website and it's down.

So I'm back to FS9, after giving up on FSX until either (a) they fix it, or (:( Santa leaves me a Cray computer under the tree this year so I can run FSX, and I was hoping that a sound stutter problem I was having would magically disappear after reinstalling FS9. Guess again.The equipment list goes like this: P4 @ 2.4ghz, 2gb RAM, Audigy 4 soundcard, nVidia GEForce 6200, blah, blah, blah. I can get the visual part of FS9 to be pretty stutter-free by tweaking this and that, but the ATC voices sound like Porky Pig with the hiccups.
