after an absence of about 2 years or more, this excellent resource for computer tweaking, especially stopping of unnecessary background processes is back on line. It came back on march 7. Black Viper says he will be gradually updating the site. I will be in New Orleans at the end of next week on my way to Korea and then to Japan. I am pretty sure that I will have next Friday night free in NOLA if any simmers would like to get together. As for Korea and Japan, my schedule is pretty tight with meetings and such, but there may be an opportunity to get together at some point during my travels. If any simmers in any location in Korea or Japan are interested, please send me an email and we'll maintain contact as my schedule gets more defined. In Korea I will be in Seoul, Pusan, and Ulsan. In Japan I will be in Tokyo and Sasebo / Nagasaki.

Hi all, im so frustrated at the moment, the last 4 days actually!I reinstalled xp and fs9, and ever since has stutters!First my system is:-Athlon 3800x2 radeon gecube x1600xt 256mb gddrIII1gig ddrII 667mhz ramfully defragged hard drive with fs9 on seperate hard drive defragged with name option in o%o defrag.i use UT europe with minimal settings, asv6.5 with visibility limited to 24 in the options and 2 cloud layers, i use high performance clouds.in my cfg i have the follwoing entryMode=1280x1024x32UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT=22TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=100TextureMaxLoad=10i have tried every setting possible in that cfg, to no avail!Am i missing something? when flying i get pauses …

When I attempt to start up FS9, I get the following error:scenery.cfg file error. Invalid Remote scenery path in scenery Area.001This error continues for Areas:003,004,005,011,012,013,014,015,016,019,020,021,022,023,024,026,028,029,030,033 and 034.I tried to uninstall FS9 and reinstall, but it did not let me fully uninstall FS9, due to some scenery areas.Anybody have any ideas?Thanks,Rob Hansford

On the Airliners.com forum regarding FS2004, somebody posted that if you instal Net Framework 3.0, you can get an fps improvement of 10% to 45%. Is this true?Is there any risk to installing Net Framework 3.0 (I have only 1.1 which came already installed with my PC.)?Thanks!JS

I purchased the Galaxy membership with Visa this morning. The account status is "pending" on FSG's web site. Has anyone else had a delay in their purchase being processed? I was hoping to do some downloading today while I wait for some DVDs to arrive. The key press equivalent for altitude hold is ctr+z - this hold the present altitude. Is there a key press code for altitude select (sets the autopilot to level at the preselected altitude while climbing/descending at the selected vs rate)?I'm trying to set up most of the altitude functions to button or switches.Thanks in advance for any help.Dale

Does anyone know why FS9 would suddenly start making the MS default "bonk" sound whenver I now press a key? It just started doing this and I can't find any setting where it would be adjusted or stopped. Everything works ok, it's just maddening to get the defIn Control Panel==>Sounds and Audio Devices==>Sounds the file is called "Windows XP Ding.wav", and is set to play under "Default Beep.
