When I get close to the ground, the land texture flashes unevenly, it seems that it only happen in some of my airports, all of them are add-on, I tried to install them again but it was useless. Is that my computer problem? Or the problem of the scenery? Please help me!

Last week I took a flight from Denver to Minneapolis. For some reason I tried to take in every movement and feel of the aircraft possible. Flying United Airlines you have the option to listen in on all the ATC transmissions. What surprised me was ATC communications were sparse at best. Seeing everything is programmed into the FMC there's no need to constantly tell the various planes where to go. I didn't even hear Departure vector us out. All that was said and done was tuning in and contacting Departure. I just installed the Glaicer Bay v2 scenery and have to say it is the most outstanding scenery I think I have ever installed!!!!! Unbelivable! I almost did not even download and try to install it when I learned that it had a 40 PLUS page manuel on the scenery installation, Wow ! But I did the work and now I'm really glad. Dont' miss this one. With it and my "Freight Dogs", I can fly in the wilds forever. Every thing on the installation reaLLY went SMOOTH. I even had to download and install that Special program from Microsoft, net. or something like that. I tried about 12 of the Glaicer flights and they were really great. What scenery. Ok, I raise my hand!I have, ever since having loaded up GBv2, been taking to the air for the most part in the Bell Ranger.It doesn't get better than this...I mean, you HAVE to fly SLOWLY....and savor every nook and cranny of GBv2.For instance, I took off from a coastal heliport and thought to just merely sight see along that coast and around some islands.Ok,... was doing that when I spotted about 2000 feet below me a little island with an out-building.Thinking I would descend and see 'what's going on (smile)', I did just that and as I was tracking towards the island, a flock of seagulls appeared circling above and around the dock.I have to tell ya, it is the amount of DE…

I've seen something about this before but----where?I've had FS for 2+ years. Lots of aircraft and some scenery.Starting last night when I try to load FS it stops at 56% and says- " Completing setup... 'something' scenery file indexes." And stops.The only thing I did from the day before was to add a repaint from here at AVSIM for the Fokker 28. So I deleted the paints but still FS won't load.I defrag (just the Windows XP defragger) about every week and may have done one between the last successful FS load and the failed one. I forget., But I'm quite sure the defrag I did was before installing the new paint.If anyonje has a suggestion I'd love to get flying agian.Thanks,

Good news for people that are using my VTOL gauge in FS9: I have ported the new VTOL code I made for FSX back to FS9, and it does wonders: a perfectly smooth VTOL. Hello, all.I had to uninstall and reinstall a scenery file. After doing so -- even though they are active in my FS menu -- all of my add-on airports, etc are not visible in FS. It's as if they simply aren't installed. I have WAY too many add-ons to bother with weeks of reinstalling.Can anyone recommend a good program that searches for and repairs abnormalities in the scenery CFG file? i am sure it's just a layer number somewhere that's out of place.

On nearly all my aircraft I cannot obtain panel lights until dusk.Is there a setting to change this please? It's as though someone else is controlling this function.My settings are set to Pilot controls lights. For instance at 07 00 at KSEA the panel lights are on and at 07 04 they are off!Try this on the Carenado 206 Stationair, for the best example?

I have the PSS Dash8 - but it is very old. Basically it is an FS2002 model. I understand that the Flight1 ATR is very good - but I suspect that it would be too tough FPS wise on my older AMD2400 machine.When I say "complex" , I mean complex enough to be interesting - not necesarily something for the fanatics! :-) Any suggestions please? hey guys, i was wondering if it is possible to change the default starting location for the sim and also my time is off for seattle it is set of eastern time zone, is there some way to change it to western time zone? thanks ahead of time thanksair powerrrr

I know I've seen it on the forum before but I can't find it. What needs to be changed so the rivers look more flush to the surface and not like they look similar to the grand canyon. I believe it is in the terrain cfg. but don't remember.

I have noticed the computer time change to the DST and flight simulator did the normal loading indexes. However the time in FS still reflects the STD time until a month later than in reality. So does this mean that FS will reload indices in the second week of April to coincide with the real DST? So this means a total of 4 times a year FS will now load the indices instead of the normal 2? Hi all, I have a problem which I'm hoping has a simple answer.When taxiing in the PMDG B737 using the joystick rudder axis to steer, the airplane wants to weave quite erratically. It is very hard to get it to stay straight and controllable. It does the same thing if I try to steer using the aileron controls (left and right arrows). It is extremely annoying. The joystick I'm using is the Logitech Wingman Force 3D. I'm running FS9, BTW.Any ideas anyone?Thanks,Darren.

Can someone give me a quick rundown on the rules FS uses when assigning a gate to an aircraft. I've had enough of landing at large airports with loads of free spaces, only for the FS ATC menu to tell me there are no available gates. I would like to know what the relationship is between gate radius, aircraft radius and the gate size (ie small/medium/heavy).Thanks

I recently bought TrackIR 4 and I love the thing, only problem I can't use it with my favorite 744(performance), so I use it when I fly the 763.Now to the question:Do you use TrackIR with all your planes(like, can't fly without it!) or just selected ones?

Hi,I have an very old copy of Captain Sim 727 (I think maybe even the FS2002 version) installed. I cannot find any uninstall scrips on my windows, but would like to remove the software. Does anyone know if there is an uninstaller? I know that the program installs in a number of directories including gauges, captain_sim, aircraft, etc.Thanks!

I can't seem to find an AIA AAL 738W. I was adding some wingletted aircraft for other airlines and I saw on Airliners.net some nice pics of AAL 738's with winglets. But my searches have turned up nothing. Does anyone know of a paint? If one does not exist yet, I for one would appreciate it if a talented painter could make one. ;-)

Hi all,I have a couple of questions that I hope someone of you will be able to answer.In the Aircraft folder there are too many AI planes and they create confusion in retrieving flyable planes. Setting the AI planes folders as "hidden" causes any problem?Second question: I have different AI bgl files. I think I like my original water textures a little better than those from Glacier Bay. I think my original came from that fairly new program, Ground Environment program? Glacier Bays are just differant from what I'm used to. Jerrycwo4
