Hi guysWhen it come to FS we all have different approaches to it. Some are systems purists, others enjoy casual visual flying. I really enjoy the visual aspect of FS - and although I appreciate the complexity of modern day simming, I honestly don't think I'd get any real enjoyment from spending hours trying to operate numerous virtual complex flightdeck systems. I think some people don't use a view outside of the cockpit at all! Although I spend as much time as I can afford on flightsim, I fall into the latter catagory. For me thats more fun.How do you guys like to fly and what draws you to FS ?Eric

Lets say you have GPS and Radio Stack gauges on the screen, one on top of the other. Is there a way to bring one or the other to the front? I've noticed that it appears, which ever one you last opened is always the one on top. Is that the case all the time or can you have a couple gauges piled on top of one another and switch back and forth to which one is on top?

For $20 you can beat this for visual model and flying fun. Only thing I don't like is the 'virtual cockpit'. I've already changed the panel and am using one I downloaded off Avsim. Still can't get rid of the 'virtual' look on the left and ride views. Guess that's built into the model? Any easy way to get rid of it? I'm fine without virtual cockpits.Thanks

What is the best in terms of performance of the two?? I heard someone saying ProjectAI planes are better and others, instead, saying that World of AI birds are better and even better looking too.I'm already OK with the level of detail of Project AI planes, what it concern me the most is the FPS....I would like to have the lighest impact as possible.....what is your experience with these packages??I'm interested in these two because they are easy to install (I do not want to spend too much time installing manually) and they have lots of airlines and planes.......there are other similar packages other than these two that i'm no aware of??? Anyone know of a good GPS/Weather Radar combo software BESIDES the SimFlyer MFD WX?which is at http://www.simflyer.net/mfdwx.htmlThe reason I ask is my sim (http://www.mycessnasim.com) uses a 2nd screen (a 7" svideo TV) for my GPS and because of FS2004 I have to drop a gauge half way off the screen, close it, open it again (Which makes it pop to the smaller screen) and then resize on the smaller screen. The problem with the SimFlyer MFD WX is that while you can (in game) resize the GPS window, you can't (in game) resize the weather radar overlay bitmap that it lays on top of the GPS window. Hi all, I've got a nice fund to buy add-ons for my favourite hobby and I need some help in knowing what will enhance my simming experience the most. I expect everyone already knows about this but just in case you don't there is a big downside to applying high levels of Anti Aliasing even if it doesn't slow down your graphics performance.Here are two pictures of part of the PSS Concorde panel. See any difference? The first was taken with a AA of 2X and the second with AA set to 6X (the maximum on my card). The effect on these pictures isn't as obvious as when viewing a full panel. Greetings All,Within the last couple of weeks I installed the 3head2go and I had to give up my ATI card in order to run the high res. for the Matrox.I have been tweaking endlessly since then trying to get a crisp video that I had before switching to Nvidia 7800GS oc .Well today I upped the mipmap in FS9 to 7 and walaaa great picture has reappearred in the sim.Just thought someone out there might find this helpful.I am not that knowledgable on Nvidia settings like I was with ATIBest regardsAndrew

HiI failed last night to install new terrain mesh manually asI wanted and was hoping someone could explain my mistake.I have FS Terrain already, though this is only USA and Europe. Inote from the installation of this that the "bgl" files are under themain scenery directory - and linked from the scenery menu withinFS9 - as the highest priority object. Hi,On some, perhaps all, of the default autopilots in FS9, are the usual array of buttons to push..hdgaltnav etc,etcbut what does 'yd' stand for..in fact the light has gone on and I think it stands for 'yaw damper', which sounds Cornish but perhaps stops the plane twisting on it's axis in flight.Maybe someone really knows!Andy.

I am still using FS2004 and will be for a while till I can afford a computer and replace all my add-ons, so for now I would like to make FS2004 a better experience for now. I hope I am not repeating questions in this forum, I have searched high and low and have not found an answer yet. I would like to be able to see my taxi speed in real time in my virtual cockpit of both my PMDG planes. I would like to see ATC text displayed in front of me only when it pertains to me not other aircraft. Would like very much to know what external aircraft lights to use and when. I am going to try my first ILS/DME approach in the PMDG 737 into Pisa,(because I'm flying there on Saturday for a holiday :-hah).The chart I am using is this one (second one down): http://www.vatita.net/download/planning/files/LIRP_ils.pdfThis is how I think it goes. After the PIS VOR I fly a heading of 238 degrees until 12 DME from PIS all the time descending from 5000ft to 2100. Then turn to course 038 to intercept the ILS. The thing is how do you know how fast to turn at the 12 DME point? When you get there do you just set the heading to 038 and let the autopilot gide you?Also what speeds would you use when? I have been having the dreaded fps slow down i mentioned in a post last week,tried a tip a read rebuild youre cfg. three flights so far and no slow downs.Now this seems to make me think that when i edit my cfg i must be doing something wrong ie change values and save.Is there a special way to edit the cfg or should i just leave it aloneDave

For some reason I can't register at the GB'S forum, so Holgar I hope you browes this forum. Trouble is that I cannot start a flight from inside the GB's area. When I try to start a flight at Skagway the sim starts to load then the dereaded "MSFS needs to close" window pops up and that's it. CTD. I can startup at Whitehoures but not inside GB. Today i flew into KORD in a Posky 737 and i had my ai traffic up to 100%. I believe i was getting about 4 fps.... which i hardly flyable as most of you know.....is there any thing i can do to make every thing in flight sim smoother with the ai traffic still at 100%?? By the way, the scenery was at MINIMAL..
