Just installed this a few days ago and LOVE it. One of my best flight s are from KSEA to there. Has Flightzone 02, that made it, made any other airports of this quality? The following is a quote from the description of the airport from Simmarket, "Animations: ....... animated marshallers and wing walkers at KPDX, animated wig-wags." I was looking through my FS 9 folder in my Application Data folder and noticed two config files. One is named FS9, and the other is fs9.CFGIs there supposed to be two identical files like this?

Hi All,I'm still using FS9 and enjoying it more than ever. Currently using Windows XP Home but considering instaliing Windows XP Professional for ease of back-up. Any issues with XP Pro and FS9 that I should know about before changing?Your help and comments are appreciated.Thanks!Jeb

This is a suggestion of exercise, which test how close to real is performance of C-130 Captain Sim. Some of us heard about Jackson Hole C-130H crash in 1996. Airplane hit the mountain during climbout phase. Get Legendary C-130 to KJAC. RWY 18, temp. 12 C, wind 350/06 knots(yes, tailwind!) weight 145.000 lbs.Perform "assault take off" .After 1NM from RWY`s end turn sharp left to hdg 090 and fly. All the time bleeds off, anti ice off, flaps 20 after 1 minute 17 sec. flight, next 6 sec. and flaps 0. Now bleeds on. Still take-off engine power.Could you pass above the mountain? They not...

Looking around and found a payware prog, "System Booster XP". Says it's a "prefetching" utility. I don't know what that means. Loads files quicker? Says it can be set to "boost" just FS9. Says "the hard disk becomes much less of a rate limiting factor". Is the hard disk the (usual) bottleneck or is it RAM or the vid card or? I do get some stuttering, blurries, FPS issues occasionally, in and out of SEATAC for example. No dough for a hotter system right now, wondering if this sort of thing can actually improve performance. Or is it all hype? Has anyone tried this or something like it? I fired up the Baron for a flight from Sand Point to Fairbanks. As I flew, I noticed that plane would be tossed to the left or right erratically. I brought up the status screen, and noticed the wind direction jumping from 320, to 125, to 225, ect. But on occation the wind direction would change slowly. Another quirk, was that the altitude would suddenly change by 100', up or down. I'm just a bit curious as to what causes this weird wind issue. Another thing I've notice that if you change altitude to get above/below the clouds, the clouds will eventually seek your new altitude, unless you get well above 20,000 feet.Part of the secret of success in life is to eat what…

Oddly after years of FS2004 and now having FSX too. I'm suddenly looking for repaints and fixes to spruce up the fs2004 default B777 LOL! I've downloaded a handful of repaints for this plane but there seems to be so few.Is there a stash of repaints for the default B-777-300 that anyone knows of.I've added other sound and some smoke effects to the aircraft.cfg and it's not half bad for a basic aircraft.

Now with SWA adding winglets to their 300's, Continental to their 500's, plus a few others that have already added them, are there going to be any updates to the freeware 300's that are out there?Just curious.Thanks

I just got mega city denver and I am becoming addicted to photoreal scenery. It would be great if there was something for the midwest usa, does any photoreal scenery exist for this? Also what other photoreal scenery would you recommend?

Hi all,when i hit "alt" or "right mouse click" in fs2004 my screen blacks for about half a second then goes to either the menu or drop down mouse menu.What can I do to fix this?In FSX there is no delay.

Wow, has AVSIM gotten rid of all the sub topics for FS9!?!Anyways, I'm trying to modify the the fxad-01 (air drop) effect. I've removed the parachute part - I'm only interested in the cargo drop from a helo. I fiddled with the Lifetime values but I can't seem to affect it at all. Does anyone know how to get the objects (aka sprites) to stay "alive" for a longer period of time than about 10 seconds once they hit ground?I looked at the SDK but that was little help.Thanks!Senior Captain, Pier Glass Aviation

Hi guys, I have a darn fast Duo Core machine and run FS9 maxed out with frames I couldn't even dream of before upgrading. As of late, though, I am having some stuttering problems. The following: if I turn with the aircraft or pan in external or VC mode and somewhere within the field of vision an airport pops into view, there is a brief stutter. Now, before you jump on this as a probable cause, let me tell you this has nothing to do with AI or addon scenery. This happens even with small default airfields in the middle of nowhere with no AI whatsoever. It seems to be related to texture loading of airport ground textures. Hello everyone.So I am having a serious problem. I have attached my system specs, and when running FS9 on this system, I can barely get above 20 fps. In most places it is between 10-15. I used to have a system that was half this powerful and I got twice as many frames. I have used fsmeteo for several years, current version 7. Recently for some reason, every time it is enabled, I get a background sound which cycles every second or two. It sounds like possibly wind which increases, then decreases and begins every couple of seconds or so. Even with all the sound options in FS9 unchecked (or turning FS9 sound off with the "Q" key), I still hear this sound cycle as long as FS9 is running. It continues even if I close fsmeteo, however will immediately cease if FS9 is closed. I realize this is a dandy excuse to upgrade to ActiveSky 6.5, and if I did, I would have preferred to purchase it with the Flight1 wrapper. However, in checking the Fligh…

I have acquired a minor guage problem with all aircraft.I've noticed that in full screen mode, the 2D cockpit guages have become oval shaped i.e taller than they are wide.3D is fine.They go back to normal shape when I switch back to windowed mode.I can of course reshape the panel every time I fly but it's a bit of a pain.I have recently downloaded a couple of 2D panel only aircraft.Could there be a connection possibly?There is probably a glaringly obvious fix that I've missed so any help would be much appreciated.regards Jim

hi! look my joystick doesn't work eny more and now I need to fly on the keyboard... hm... becouse now I don't have money to buy onother one... so the keyboard is my jostick for some time... and it is very dificult to fly with keyboard only... I used to fly without autorudder and now i have problems with controling the plane... i cant find the sensitivity what i need... so I come here to ask someone if he/she is a keyboard pilot... and is there some tricks with the keyboard or just you need some time to be pro on fly-keyboard... Hello, I fly the B737-600 and if I do a flight everything goes well untill I refuel for a returnflight. The "overweight alarm" signal starts going off, though that is not so. Why is it giving me this alarm?On top of this I have not been able to find a way/setting to turn this signal off, but I'm sure there must be a way ... it is doing my head in!Can anyone help, please?
