Can I install FS9 on my (brand spanking new) external hard drive and have it run alongside my internal FS9 installation. Will the cfg. file in the C: drive double up or choke on itself?Also, and here's an odd one, is it possible, or even worthwhile, to remove all of the FS9 content you don't plan on using? I'm curious if I removed every bit of default scenery and planes I didn't want and just kept one area, would I get better performance?Thanks.

My Dreamfleet Piper Archer II (on FS2004) works perfectly.But lately I noticed my screen keeps frozen during a couple of seconds while the aircraft performs its touchdown.Then, during the roll out, it works again without any problem.Any idea guys ?

Hey Guys, Well I updated my system with a K9N-NEO MB, 4 gigs of 3200 ddr2 Ram and a 8800 GTS Vid card.When I load up the sim everything works fine. After some time about 5 to 10 minutes the surrounding scene such as planes and basically everything is all jagged and my frames go from 25 to 13. I don't know what causes this and I have the latest drivers and have tried a few older versions as well. Anyhelp would be appreciated.

I popped over to the SSW website recently and I noticed the price has dropped on the A310 Airbus. Considering the new lowered price and the bugfixes the SSW team has provided is the product now worth it?I have to say I have heard the stories about the overall quality of the product and the support forums but I would really like to purchase an A310 and the CLS product is a little too lite for my tastes.Even if the product needs a few tweaks I can handle that since I am pretty savvy with FS9 and computers in general. I really just want a product that works...lol

Greetings all, I hope this is the correct forum. I recently installed Misty& Tongass Fjords along with Glacier Bay 2 .Unbeleiveable is all I can say. I had installed Alaska 38.2m Mesh from R.Taburst in the library a while ago.Even though everything seems to display perfectly should I do something different with this mesh pkg.and if so what would that be?thanks Best regardsAndrew

On occasion I will be in my 4th+ hour on a long haul and poof--CTD--I've read that there can be "memory leaks" etc...but the CTDs I've experienced are preceeded with absoulutely no warning--no FPS slowdown--no staggering etc...just poof. Hi, all of a sudden I can't download metars anymore. I use FSmetar, and tried downloading using other freeware weather programs (using FS2004 own real world weather as well) but no way. My internet connection works, of course, and I tried also disabling the firewall.All worked fine until last week. Can anybody give me a cue?ThanksFrancesco

Guys, when planning short hops, like KSEA - CYVR, or EGLC - EHAM in a business jet like CitationX or Hawker or Lear45, how do you plan/calculate altitudes? What is the most probable altitude to expect getting assigned flying online for such trips/aircrafts?Most of the flightplans I've seen don't give altitudes or in the best case indicate just a range say from FL110 TO FL300, which is understandable. What would be a general approxiamtion for these flights to play it more or less realistic? :)Thanks.

Don't know how many of you folks have downloaded it, but the scenery pack by Peter Ham and Sidney Schwartz is really very well done, and quite extensive.I have been finishing up a fairly long trek around Alaska and British Columbia, and have been enjoying these guys enhancements in addition to Glacier Bay. This scenery pack covers a vast area of Canada.....you might want to check it out.Nice job Peter and Sidney.

I would love to be able to make scenery for FS9 primarily so i can fly to Sharm-el-Shiekh in Egypt. Has anyone ever attempted to design and build your own scenery within FS9. How hard is it and what sort of challengers are there to overcome??Thanks Steve

i'm still new in the world of flight simulation, i noticed that some of the smaller airports doesn't have that much AI on the ground. is there a way to add fix this. i have the ultimage traffic by flight1, is that something i can use?appreciate any response. tnx!

ATC runway selection for AI aircraftCan anyone tell me how ATC selects the runway it assigns AI aircraft?I have noticed that ATC always lands the same aircraft on the same runway.I have tried switching the flight numbers between two aircraft that land on different runways but the aircraft still land on the same runway. I just cannot figure out what criteria ATC uses in assigning runways to AI aircraft.

One of the (many) things I like about the great L-049A Constellation from FSDZigns is the panel icon for adjusting the propeller RPM. I like it much better than using the keyboard (CTRL-F2, CTRL-F3). Unfortunately, it seems to be part of a set of icons, which makes it difficult to use with other aircraft panels. Does anyone know of a standalone icon/gauge combination which can be added to a panel to increase and decrease propeller RPM in a similar manner? I've searched but can't find one. Thanks.

I purchased the PSS 757 a while ago, I have a "thing" for 757s, but never really had the chance to fly her. I also purchased an un-named 757 but was extremely disappointed, typical... Anyway, I just reinstalled the latest version, and am in the middle of a UPS flight KONT-KSJC, and WOW. What a beautiful airplane. heavy on the frames in the VC, but amazingly detailed, great model, good amount of repaints (could have more though, not too popular with the great avsim repainters unfortunately), solid systems and FMC, overall a great package! But not much talk about her, sorry to hear that.

Has anyone out there had any issues with their UT USA CD? I purchased both UT Alaska/Canada and UT USA on CD, and my UT USA CD 1 is warped (e.g. concaved), pitted, and completely unreadable.Also, I believe their downloadable installer is corrupted as well. I've installed and purchased tons of their online software and recently downloaded and re-installed just about everything due to a computer rebuild -- no problems with anything except the Ultimate Terrain USA installer after multiple downloads which led me to buy the CD set as a fall back in the first place.Finally, has anyone had issue with their customer service? Can someone please tell me how to change the thrust settings at the airplanes in fs9? For some reason I think the jets have a somewhat slow response to throttle movement.

I used to keep all flight plans which had been processed by TTools or MRAI in the scenery folder. However I found that this method created duplicated, or triplicated, or even more identical flight plans, each with the same flight number. This meant for example that trying to land at London Heathrow, or any other busy airport, was almost impossible due to so many duplicated flights landing at the same time.I came up with the idea of storing sets of flight plans for different seasons in separate zip files, and only keeping those plans for one particular season at a time in the scenery folder.My question is this, if a flight plan has been associated with a particular aircra…

Hi Guys, I took a long break from FS and came back after a few months. Anyways, a few days ago, I was trying to fly the LDS from IAH to BOS.After setting up my FMC, I entered my dept. and arrivals and then went to do my route.The first few legs were... IAH-LCH-J590-MGMLCH was allready entered as the dept, so I tryed to enter J590 into the route page. I return, I was given an "J590 not in database" error.Anyways, how do I enter airways into the FMC?
