Hi all,the question is in the header... Can I decrease the radius in which AI is rendered so as to increase CPU resources and framerates? My understanding is the default is 108nm which is rather big if you're in a small country (like England) or an airport dense region (like SoCal). Anyone?Cheers and best wishes,Tosh:-wave

Ok, So I'm kinda new installing traffic with just tools. I have place everything where it should be, changed the aircraft titles. When I go to compile, a error message comes up saying:ERROR: A flight plan specifies an aircraft type AC#6265, That type is not in the Aircraft.txt fileI searched the FS folder and can't find the aircraft.txt file. Where is it located, or could some one give me a link to a good help page. Thanks

Is there a mod out there that will add reflections/smudges/bug stains to windows of either the default Cessna 172 or Flight One's 172 in VC mode? I'm looking for anything that would help give the sense that I'm actually looking through windows while flying.Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks,Charlie

Maybe it's just me. I've been here under other names since 98/2000, came because of Fly!, stayed to help, but for years I just read because the hobby's far surpassed my meagre abilities. My prime use of FS9 is GA mountain flying (Thanks L.Adamson, for your consistent inspirations in this regard), but traditionally I'm pretty big on the 500page-manual stuff. So no giving me crap for how this suggestion isn't "simulating" anything!!!I just have to say I found something that is such a nice change from tweaking and flying and feeling frustrated when something "breaks" my sim immersion and suspension.I am truly LMAO using the Maule to ski. I don't mean just using the ski-equ…

I use Ultimate Night Environment. I like it for the most part, but it seams a little too bright. Since there is no options for the program, other than the base FS9 otpions does anyone know how, or isi t possible to make it less bright?

Hi,I recently installed a lot of scenery of Greece (BTW thank you HSP and GAF for your work on this!) I have included two pictures, one of the island Sythos (or Syros?), perfect! and one around Sitia on the island Crete, less perfect. What's happening? Thanks in advance.Hugo

  7. I realize this isn't the PMDG forum, but I posted there but still have not solved the problem. If there are any PMDG 737 fans in this forum I'm hoping you can help me. In Tim Metzinger's Flight 4 tutorial to Orlando, I am having a consistent problem with the ILS18R missed approach. After declaring the missed, I accelerate, engage LNAV and the AP per the tutorial, and head on the magenta line at about 210deg toward the holding track at 2000ft. First, I get an FMC chime that I need to reset my MCP altitude. I am at 2000 which is the holding altitude, and that is in my alt window. Why the message? Upon reaching the holding track, the plane turns to 141deg onto the oval, …

On my B787's the idle speed is too high and I'm not sure what in the aircraft.cfg controls this. The N1 idle is 34% and the aircraft tries to run away. My other aircraft usally idle at 25% and don't creep as much. Can someone direct me how to lower the idle speed a bit? Thanks

Due to need of additional HD space on my master C- drive I transferred all my Scenery and Addon Scenery folders to a new USB HD. This freed up over 5 gigs of space. Also revised the scenery.cfg file, which remains on C drive. All appears to be working. My question is I originally installed Flight and Ground Environments on C Drive but not sure where the FE and GE files were installed. When I transferred my scenery folders to the USB HD did that take care of all the FE and GE files as well or should I try to uninstall FE and GE and reinstall? Thanks for any help,Carl

After running out of idea's as to why the top of my plane's get these fine zig-zags, one more thought came up. I run at 1280x1024, is that a bad resolution for FS? Should I run at 1280x900? If I could just get the models to look smooth... Any advice on AA and AF?

Hey everyone, I was just going through the forums and saw some of the usual new release stuff, and thought this would be a laugh for some to lighten things up a bit. While reading a freeware review on the Tim Mouse 200, I stumbled upon a 737 site that has some neat stuff. The following was from Flight Attendant Humor. I hope some enjoy this. The site by the way is:http://www.b737.org.uk/ There are some links at the bottom of the page that got me to this. Sorry if this has been posted before, but it at least gave me a few chuckles after a down in the dumps kind of day. I hope I did not break any rules by posting this. If I did, I am so sorry, and please delete this pos…

  12. I was just perusing the Jeppesen site, and stumbled across their SimCharts page. Was really surprised to find they have rather significantly changed their marketing strategy from their old policy of selling regions separately and only for a 1-year subscription.Their site now advertises lifetime worldwide online access to their SID/STAR/approach charts for a one-time fee of US $42. That looks pretty reasonable to me.Anyone using this service yet? Is there a catch?http://www.jeppesen.com/simchartsRegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile

I've been trying to set up some flights in and out of UUEE recently, and I've found that my memory usage jumps to staggering levels even while using only default scenery. This causes FS to shut down with the message that I'm out of memory (I'm using 2gb of RAM), leaving me a bit frustrated (not fun doing LAX-SVO & then crashing while on approach - that's 11-12 hours out of the window)As a comparison, cloud9's LAX with the Blue Sky high resolution ground textures and moderate traffic only uses up 315mb of memoery. default UUEE with low traffic uses up 712mb.I have no landclass or mesh files installed that should cover that area, so I'm kinda baffled at the moment as to…

  19. Since the other CX thread turns out to be 6 pages of...well...pretty much nothing IMO, I am starting a new one for those who actually OWN the product to exchange experience. I took a quick flight. First the model doesn't look quite right to me. The nose, windshield and engines especially. http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/170507.jpgThere are some glitches. For example, check out the landing light at night.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/170508.jpgThe standby attitude indicator doesn't work. It can't be uncaged.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/170509.jpgOver all it's a very good product IMO. VC gauges are very smooth (so is the legacy). No performance hit eve…

Hi there, have been waiting so long for this aircraft and just love flying it.I just have a question, is it possible, or does anyone know of a freeware gauge that allows autopilot pitch hold to be conected to the flight director pitch gauge? This would allow the aircraft to be flown on autopilot using pitch hold instead of vertical speed. I have tried assigning the "pitch set to flight director" setting in FS9 but when I press the assigned button, the autopilot only sets the pitch at the time of pressing the button not the pitch on the flight director. Moving the flight director up and down has no effect. I assume that this is due to the flight director gauge on the F28 pa…

hey all...i try to make FS2004 videos when i can and i currently use Walk & Follow to get some pretty nifty camera angles. it's very convenient and very easy to use. i also use FSRecorder to record my flights. afterwards, i play them back and capture the in-game video footage using GameCam. that way, while i'm flying, i'm able to concentrate on what i'm doing rather than trying to get those cameras in the right position.anyway, as much as i love W&F, the lack of a padlock view really takes away from the diversity of the footage i'm able to capture. that's why i'm thinking of getting active camera, as well. but i just have a few questions first...1. i know there's …
