Fellow simmers,I need your help. I have been trying to install the latest DirectX 9.0c v9.18.944 dated 4/10/2007 it says that installation is complete, when I run dxdiag I see that an older version is still in place v4.09.0000.0904I tried deleting the registry entry, rebooting then try to install but then I get an error message and the installation is discontinued.Can someone please tell me how to get to a workaround on this one and install the new version?Thanks,

I installed some of the World of AI aircraft, and now, for some reason, there are always two planes flying next to each other, with the same call sign, everything from a Cessna 172 to a 747. It's like FS is controlling AI aircraft, and World of AI is controlling another set of the same aircraft!This gets really annoying when ATC is talking to the, cause they call both of the aircraft (even though they have the same call sign). This can get real aggravating when trying to get takeoff clearance as well as landing clearance, b/c ATC has "twice" the amount of traffic it normally would, since it is talking to the "same" plane twice!Has anyone else experienced this problem? …

Hey everyone. I am by far a guru of AI. Well since I got the complete TNCM package by Fly Tampa, I am in need of help. I have AI aircraft from PAI Evolve etc... and see alot of them at KSEA amd KPDX like Horizon, american.. and just installed the new afcad by Guy-Hubert Bourdelle for TNCM, but even with my settings at 100%, still no AI at TNCM, especially heavies. I assume I need flight plans to make things work correctly? I also read that Winair flys in and out of TNCM? I really don't know what I need to do to make things work. Any suggestions? I thought I was an addict of FS9 scenery and aircraft, now it seems I have the AI bug too. Any help is greatly appreciated. Once…

Is there a place to download just gauge files? I have a couple of panels that use 'CFR.APALT12.GAU' and although that file is in my gauge directory, it is corrupt as FS9 won't read it and the filesize is 0 bytes.Thanks,WYO (A short lived, short line, narrow gauge railroad.)

Hi all,I updated some scenery and wanted some additional help with beta testing before I upload them to AVSIM. I redid the FRF St Louis (KSTL) AFCAD and redid the taxiway signs to match the most recent airport diagrams. I also redid the AFCAD, taxiway signs and rebuilt the main terminal and tower for Fargo (KFAR). Anyone interested in helping me beta test them?EricKCOS

First off, let me start with the usual...Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere already. But, I have done some searching and can't really find the answers I'm looking for so far.My question has to do with simulating real world airline pilot line flying or maybe aircraft planning. I would like to do this with real world schedules from the airlines. I used to work for an airline and have a copy of the last route schedule(not sure the proper terminology) before I left the company. With this route schedule, I am able to start at airport AAA with tail number N#### with scheduled departure of 630a just like an aircraft would do for real and fly to BBB with scheduled arr…

Not sure how to describe this, but I have a problem where add ons such as Radar contact, Flight Keeper and even my Civa INS system can't detect KPDX. I can go there from the FS menu, but Radar Contact doesn't detect it, Flight Keeper shows a blank airport, and my Civa INS won't align. Very confusing. Has anyone seen this before?

Just finished a flight from KBOS to KJFK (New York) and discoved, when I looked) that on/from the "map" of the airport, KJFK, there were NO ILS freqs listed anywhere. I KNOW for a fact, without a doubt, that KJFK has ILS assisted runways. Does anyone know how I can get the ILS freqs to show up again on the "map"? I could NOT find a source for this info ( while still flying, preparing to land), ANYWHERE. Other than FS2004, what is an internet sourse for this info? Thanks for the help. jerrycwo4

Hi all, l`m now having problems with nvidia settings.. l`ve changed them to look nice but when l get back into the sim its all jagged. l have AA enabled but its like its not turned on... any help on this..my card is a 8800gtx.Thanks guysPaul

Headsup...Wilco just put on a bunch of shots of the X. The VC looks "reasonably exciting" to me but the exterior model looks very wrong to my eyes. Jason

It's interesting to visit the AVSIM library and see the download stats for FS2004 and FSX downloads. It's like FSX is incidental. It makes me wonder, who in our community is using FSX and consistently, and who is still using FS2004? I don't use FSX for several reasons and might just miss that entire generation of the sim because I am still occupied heavily with FS9 (whatever time I can give it, at least).But I wonder if FSX has been a success for (a) simmers, and (:( Microsoft. And I wonder what the numbers would look like for sales and usage of FSX vs. FS2004.JS

I have a confession to make. I never learnt to slew.Today I looked the the commands and I am trying it out and its driving me nuts.I had the num lock turned off.1. Should I have the sim Pause Y/N? I cannot slew when its in pause so I had to unpause it and then pressed "Y" to get into the slew mode2. I understand the left arrow and right arrow and forward arrow and down arrow to move it laterally and then F4/A and F1/Q for vertical movementthe number 5 key in the num keboard to stop any movement.But here is the problem. When I press the "5" key it stops the movement only for a bit...and then it starts moving again but I don't know movment its using. I don't get that. when…

I just recently bought some terrain mesh from FS Genesis and, I have to say, it has renewed my passion for this hobby. It has made the world seem so much more "real".However, I have noticed quite a few "spikes" on my flights. I have searched the forums here and fsgenesis and notice that they seem to be somewhat common but just nowhere near the extent to what I have seen. I seem to get them more or in areas not reported by anyone else that I would think should be reported, i.e. KSEA. Just sitting at the airport looking south, there are a bunch. My son is only two years old, but he is already wanting me to show him how to fly....which gave me an idea. With all of the real-world pilots in here, wouldn't it be a good idea if there was some type of organized group here at Avsim that helped to teach up and comers how to fly properly. I think it would be great to have scheduled online sessions in FS9 where people can give instruction, or perhaps even in FSX with the ability to share a cockpit. There can even be advanced sessions for those of us who are a little further along than others. Just a thought.

When on approach to KDFW and while taxiing there, my frame rates drop from my locked 25 FPS to between 5 and 10 FPS (!). The only way I can eliminate this problem is if I set the AI traffic slider to 20% or lower. My system is low end to middle of the road (3.2ghz Celeron, ATI X1300 Pro Video Card, 2gb RAM) but I don't have anywhere near this frame rate drop at other airports I fly into -- mainly KPHL (Philadelphia), KMCO (Orlando), KBOS (Boston) and a couple others. I have several WoAI packages and a few Project AI packages, most notably PAIs American Airlines package and I know that KDFW is a major AA hub.Is KDFW a common problem for others? Hello, I basically have Canada, and N. America covered in FSGenesis mesh. Due to a recent job loss I have not enough money to purchase for the rest of the world. I'm interested in the Maddog 2006 for FS9, and I've been looking at it for a few days. I know it doesn't have a VC and that's fine since I don't use them.My main concern is frame rates (performance) and flight dynamics. I've seen good comments about it's features and a little about performance, but is it the same as PMDG type of planes? The FeelThere 737PIC is one I thought was very poor in terms of performance, so how does this Maddog 2006 stack up?Flight dynamics - This can kill a good add on. Some of the add ons I think have excellent FDE's are the Flight 1 ATR, PMDG 747, DA Cheyenne, & Level-D 767. If they are rigid and heavy then I won't like them.Thanks!

Hey everyone. I am having a problem with the settings menu all of a sudden. I don't know what is causing it, but its gotta be a display driver issue. My card is listed below in my sig and I am using the 6.14.10.9792 signed drivers from Nvidia. The menus worked after initial install of FS but now this is what I see. It wouldn't be that big of a deal if I could find all the correct spots in the fs9.cfg to edit them. Any ideas?
