I want to try getting into scenery design, but have a question. How do I delete default scenery items like trees and buildings, so that I can place more realistic buildings in their proper places? I just recently downloaded rwy12, and have been playing with that some. What other (good) freeware scenery designers are there out there, and what are some payware ones?Thanks!- Jason

I've only been simming for about 4 months now (every free moment, it seems!), so I'm sorry if this is a very basic question but is Ultimate Terrain designed to simply clean up and refine innacurate geographic features in FS9 - coastlines, rivers, lakes and their correct placement, and such - or is it supposed to enhance the look of my roads, towns, cities and other, man made scenery too?After some research and based in part on comments in a recent thread here I went ahead and bought, downloaded and installed Ultimate Terrain USA and Alaska/Canada with great expectation. HiI am concidering the purchase of USA Ultimate Terrain. I am wondering though if I will add anything that is not covered bu the other products I own a few Mega scenery packages and Real scene 2004 , as well as one FS Genisis USA product for FS 2004 - would the end resilt be minimal perhaps in what one would ultimately want to achieve - or would spending the extra money be worth it?I do have USA roads, which i know is as part of USA terrain, and if i bought it, i would deinstall USA rods obviously.the ultimate question is should i spend a little money or perhaps save some money?ThanksZach Bender K7LTF

I have been flight simming for about 12 years now(since FS95, now using FS9) and have been an avsim forum reader for quite a while too. While I haven't done much in the way of posts myself over that time, I have always looked to these forums for help, recommendations, tips, etc. Well, I felt that I had to post my thoughts right now...I have just bought and installed FSGenesis, UT and GE and I have to say that it has just completely re-ignited my passion for this hobby. How soon and when should this used?I don't need an instruction on how to use it, I know already, I just wondered when the earliest time it should be executed is?

I recently discovered the Dash8-Q300 freeware model from Oleksiy Frolov and Thomas Herger. I keep getting an error that someone else reported on their forum (http://bathursted.ccnb.nb.ca/fanda/)that is causing it to CTD. I'm not sure what the cause is. It states ERROR-FS9 and reads "Failed to Read From File." No one answered the post there so I thought I would repeat it here. Anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it? I downloaded every version of the Dash 8 to eliminate any missing files but was hoping someone could help.Thanks,Eric

:-)I have downloaded from www.navdata the file PMDG AIO andunzipped to PMDG sidstars.When I load the fligtplan EHAM-EGLL I get the message:EGLL : Err Donut unknown. In the database the sidstars of EGLL are present,but not availablein the flightplan. I have this error i several flightplans.Who van help me out ?.

Hi Folks:For some strange reason I cannot slew my aircraft! My key assignment is Y. When I hit this key my coordinates, speed, altitude, etc are displayed in red at the top of my display, but my arrow keys on the keypad will not move the aircraft. I have the num lock key off. I have tried changing the key assignment and changing the aircraft, but nothing works.Thanks for any help or suggestions!Airbus

I was using the FS Repaint Demo to view aircraft (to check repaints) outside of FS9, but now I am getting a user.dll error message that I don't seem to be able to repair, even with reinstall of the repaint demo. Are there are other products or freeware that will allow me to view the aircraft outside of FS9? If that doesn't work, what or how do I change the aircraft cfg. file to make the plane show up in the FS9 aircraft window with the simulation?Thank you,Brian S.

Hi,I'm using Ground enviroment and Ultimate Terrain,in the GE setup there's a box to tick if you want the night lighting....and in UT theres boxes for enhanced night lighting.....do I disable the night lighting in GE to get the best night lighting from UT or the other way round...Sorry if that sounded confusing...Regards,Martin.

I have a come across an interesting problem. I went to load up and fly an F-16 and got an error message that this gauge was causing a problem and it would cause ACOF to crash. I used "//" to omit the gauge out of the panel config so I could fly the aircraft. I had the same problem with the Baron 58tc. Is there another gauge out there that can replace this gauge, or another panel for an f-16 or Beechcraft 58tc that doesn't use this gauge?Thank you in Advance.

Hi everyone!Since I purchased Ultimate Terrain Europe, or maybe a little later, I noticed that my terrain textures have not been texturizing properly. Instead of the clear ground textures with autogen on it, I often see blurred areas of color, and don't get the crisp texture until maybe I start approach or some miracle happens and they texturize. When this happens I also get no or very poor autogen. I heard there was something to change in the fs9.cfg. I have all my scenery, world and hardware settings to maximum. Any addon scenery or terrain like Rome Scenery from Cloud9 visualizes properly.Can somebody help me out?(I attached a picture from my last flight yesterday, wan…

I recently downloaded the blueskyscenery of LA by Gottfried Razek and its excellent! :9 But when I tried his LAX High RES scenery (the one with 1.2m/pix) together with Cloud9's LAX something goes wrong. The LAX_HR takes over on some parts of the airport (See pic) and it doesnt look too neat :(I have the airport set to a higher Layer in the Scenery.cfg. Also if I use only his standard RES scenery of the area this doesnt happen :SI was wondering WHY only certain areas where "overrun" by the photoscenery and if theres something I can do to make it work so the aiport scenery is "above"?Thanks in advancehttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/170764.jpg

I know I should be addressing this question at SOH but I cannot, for some strange reason, function once I have logged in over there. It is NOT a question of having a valid login ID or being a member of that site in good standing. As far as I know, I am all of that - it is simply that once connected over there, my browser seems to gain a mind of its own and I get repeated, gratuitous mouse clicks and the initial page jumps around like it has the St Vitus dance or something. It is impossible to function or interact in that environment. Is this unique to me or have others had a similar experience? This is the only site on which this has happened to me. Any ideas on how …

HiI have a problem with my new computer.When I run fs9 I do get very good FPS but it doesnt run smoothly. It does not matter whether I have high og low setting - its the same.I run vista premium 32 bit and have updated the graficcard etc.Specifications: intel core 2duo e6600 prhardd: 500 gb2048 mb ddr-2 (2*1024)nvidia geforce 8800 gts Hope somone can helpthanks

http://www.imaginesim.com/klga01.htm they have also a 12mb demo to try out so far the demos running good around 19 fps sometimes a little lower but good, remember my system is old now so you guys with the newer cpus should do even better this is with cls Dc-10 and 50% ai lowest fps I get is 12 then it goes back up.
