Imagine you are flying vfr and are 15 miles from a airport. You tune in to the tower and request full stop. ATC responds and instructs you to use rwy 21. You acknowledge.Now you are given a choice to select another runway. There are only 2 runways at this airport. But when you try to select rwy 30, all that you see on the screen is: 1-[--Back--]. There is no other rwy to choose from!If you open FS9 and go to create a flight window and choose Selected Location and see Runway/Starting Position-you find rwy's 21 and 30.But ATC does not offer rwy 30! What do I need to do in Afcad to correct this?I did create the new rwy 30 using afcad. Rwy 21 is default.Using FS 9.Thank…

hi..i have downloaded IFLY 747-400, and the readme says to put the "aircraft.mrg file into the aircraft.cfg" file....how do you do this?????? i tried to copy and paste but it didnot work...any help is greatly appreciated..best rgds ken

For anyone who hasn't seen this site it is great for flight planning real world flights...it has also come in very handy for tracking flights when my family is inbound to the fix...:) http://flightaware.com/ The only problem is that it is a US flight tracker. My question is...Is there a European flight tracker like Flightaware? I like to fly in Europe from time to time...and it would be nice to be able to plan my flights with real world accuracy. I am not as knowledgeable abvout European destinations as I am US destinations...usually I guess or look at airliners.net.Cheers,Scott

I've tried many times to download the CIVA INS 1.5 from simufly.com but the server is really slow I can never get a complete download, the file is always invalid. Can someone please send me the INS 1.5 (Not 1.4, I cant get it to run right with the SSTSIM concorde) to [email protected]? That would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot,Alex

In the last few weeks I have noticed an annoying phenomenon.I load fs9, and then load any of the payware planes such as ther ATR-45 or the 737NG or the PSS airbuses.I also load Radar Contact as I prefer it to the fs9 atc.After the plane is ready to go, if I hit the alt key to access the top menu, the program crashes to the desktop. The weird thing is that when I use the alt key earlier, let's say to change fuel load, usually there is no ctd.Is this problem related to memory?Eytan OrnsteinP4 2.4 GHZ1GB DDRGeForce 5700 LE 128MB80GB hard drive

Well I'm at about my wits end here. Seems no matter when I try to get into Flightsim's library, I can't because of a node shortage. And I'm really coveting Nick's F-15 AI model.Would somebody out there be able to send me the model file via e-mail?I know, I used to have a "top" membership over there. But I let it lapse. Hello everyone.I am looking for a way to merge the pmdg panel with the overland model of the 737-800. I haven't found one yet already made and try searching the net for some answers but again no luck there. I decided to start doing it myself but don't really know where to start. I tried copying the contact point and lights section from overland cfg into the pmdg one but the aircraft flips over on the runaway. Any clues as to what to do next? So I'm flying along locked at 31FPS when all of a sudden it dramatically drops down to 1 frame per second. I minimize FS and check out Maxmem in my toolbar to see that I am down to about 10 or less percent of ram that is free. I click the icon to free up ram, and after about 30 seconds, the whole process is free. I jump back into FS and the textures are loading back up very slowly and I am getting MAJOR stutters.... Whats going on?

I had a computer crash and lost everythingMy FS9.cfg file contained lots of alterations - runway light brightness, turbulence setting etc etcCan anyone send me thier alterations to the cfg in order that i can rebuild my cfg to the way i had it.Many thanks

Happy Flying all,I have decided to do a few northwest flights using Horizon Airlines schedules out of KPDX. I have downloaded the Dreamwings D8 Q100-400 series aircraft featured here in the file library's. I found the air files to be rather awful. The 400 downloaded with a GW of 68lbs??? The 100-200 series aircraft jump around on the tarmac like grasshoppers. Forget getting these rather nice looking aircraft in the air. I haven't done much research to see if new FDE are available, but was hoping to gather some info here first.

I'm having a problem with my PMDG 747, 737 and Flight 1 MD80. During flight, there is a very annoying sound stutter. I have isolated the sound as the wind noise.Strange thing is, it's only that sound that stutters. The engines, air con, Radar Contact voices are all fine. If I disable the wind sound in the sound.cfg file, no more problems, but you then get a very quiet flight deck.This isn't a problem in my PSS 777 or the Level D 767, both of which also use wind sounds.I've got the latest drivers installed on my Soundblaster Audigy SE, and am running Windows Vista.Has anyone else experienced this type of problem or would know how to go about fixing it?

Can somebody please give me an idea of what performance benefits I can gain by converting my textures to DXT3? I have a few aircraft that could use a few extra FPS, is this achievable by converting the textures? Thanks,-Mike

hi,i have flight simulator 2004 with high spec computer and when i fly high example (30000) on fs 2004 i see like white blocks as i get lower they go do any of you guys know what to to? thanks rjs.

I was suggested on another thread that I start a new one...so here goes.I've followed all of the directions with nHancer and things look much better with FS9. One problem though...My framerates have diminished to a level that seems too low for my new system. I just upgraded to what I would consider a fairly powerful system, yet I can't acheive better then 15 FPS while at cruise and with AI set to minimum. My specs are down below. Any help would be awesome. I was getting mid 20's with my 4 year old P4. BTW I can get 20-22 fps but this is only if I run in windowed mode with the screen size reduced to 3/4 of fullscreen. I have a 22' widescreen...and I just upgraded my video …

I know that I should be able to do this myself but after many attempts it just doesnt work for me. Does anyone have the Focus callsign or know where to get it? I try and stay current on EVP and can upload callsigns but I don't see this callsign anywhere. Can anyone help me here or create it in EVP?...Thx....Dennis [email protected]

hey there!i just installed a VTBS scenery for the "new" airport of bangkok, suvarnabhumi (or sth like that) - there are no ai aircraft at the airport as they still fly to the old airport VTBD which is now closed irl. how can i get the ai aircraft to fly to VTBS instead of VTBD?i've no clue of ttools or things like that, i only installed PAI and WOAI packages... :-rollthank you in advance!

Hi, I have a problem with my scenery stting. In the library I have set all sceneries but when I build a flight only have 42 countries...I re-intstall the fs and the problem continues... Where is the problem..??Someone can help me??Thks

I am having a slightly odd problem sincing installin9 fs9 onto my new computer. The problem concerns the environmental lighting, for example on aircraft and scenery objects isn't showing always. If i make a change in the diwplay settings e.g. render to texture or T&L it works again but only until i bring up a menu (alt) or open the map view. After returning to the flight the lighting disappears and will only return after going into the settings again. The machine is perhaps not i deal for fs being a dell laptop with a radeon xpress 1150 card and vista so i cant have all settings on full. Anybody have any ideas on what is happening and have a fix?Fighterpilot

Hi,Is there a way to save my additional texture sets that have been created with GEPro?. I ask this because I do not want to spend another 10 to 15 hours creating GEPro texture sets in the future if I have to reinstall FS2004.Thanks

Its several years since I installed an add-on sound set - I have just tried {a simple update to the default 737} but cannot get any engine sounds.I copy the new set with the new sound.cfg into the sound folder - everything seems ok but I can get no engine sounds when I load the aircraft. Other sounds - warnings etc are there.I've tried several ways - all without success. I must be missing something very simple. Grateful if someone can remind me!John R
