I just downloaded "Airports Environment Upgrade Ver 7" from avsim library. I was about to install it when I realized I had "Reality pack" (another texture pack) installed. I am assuming the AEUv7 would over-write many of the textures from the Reality Pack. Anyone have any idea which is a better texture pack? That is, should I go ahead and install the AEUv7 pack? Also, there is another texture pack called "Real Environment 2006". I have that downloaded as well, but not sure if I should install it. Any guidance here ? Thanks

I'm going to cross-post this to the scenery design forum, but figured the experts here would have some good insights.When I start flight sim 2004 and try to place my aircraft at one of the airports where I have add-on scenery, the "loading scenery objects" window comes up, and then the computer seems to thrash for a very long time, with the hard disk chattering over and over in the same pattern. Eventually the scenery starts to load, and goes quickly, followed by the terrain, and then the thrashing will happen again for a shorter period while "loading air traffic control" is displayed.The problem is NOT consistent with any one scenery. Hey everyone, I am new to RWY12 and scenery creation, I am trying to make NAS Chase Field, TX. It's an old navy training base, I needed to make a brand new AFCAD for it since it's not included in the stock scenery. I also needed to flatten the area and make an exlude file. I had success with the flatten and exlude, but when I made the exclude it took my AFCAD away, leaving everything from RWY12 too. So how can I get my AFCAD to show up when I exclude? Any suggestions? I've just re-installed FS9 on my new PC. Patched it all up fine, put my addons back in, got the latest version of FSUIPC, latest graphics drivers and all that.When I load a flight up though, there's a problem. It occurs in any airport, any scenery, any aeroplane.My view freezes in the cockpit forward view position. It's not the game hanging up, because I can hear the sounds changing as I scroll through the views with the keys (S button). If I go into the 'views' menu and change the it there (eg into spot view) then everything works fine, but trying to do it any other way just freezes the view where it is.Any suggestions?

Please help me if you can. I've spent the day trying to install a number of Italian airports into FS2004. All was well untill the last install (auto installer) that did not work properly as the airport (LIPZ) was not installed. I downloaded a gauge from the AVSIM library and would like to assign some functions to the F1 through F9 keys (in fs9). Is this possible? If yes, how?

I usually have all of my addon sceneries within the scenery library turned off except a few. I have been trying to fly from CYYZ to KMDW and I was running Filemon and noticed that it is calling for files of scenery on the other side of the globe, when I switched them off it would call for other scenery files that are not even close to the area that I am flying. What's going on? Of course the memory keeps stacking up until OOM so I can't ever finish the G__ D___ flight! It seems like no matter what I do the program is constantly calling for files which are unrelated to where or what I am flying. Is there any fix for this?Mike

hi all!two minor fs9 scenery/texture problems which i hope you guys can help me.1.) recently downloaded the FRF-EGLL scenery (egll.zip) with the corresponding new building scenery. Installed everything as per instructions but the textures on the main tower and blastwall are both white (so it seems the texture files are somehow missing). everything else is working perfectly. 2.) the FS9 standard airport bus (yellow one) does also not show correctly anymore..probably i've somehow overwritten the bmp, but i can not find the original bmp texture file on the origin CD (number 3).thanks!!cheersharald

I'm seeing what looks like the ability to change or enter waypoint data as well as other info. Is there a reason why most people say you can't change the default data, like Unicom Frequencies, Waypoint names, or other similar data??In the library I noticed a file that claimed to give the sim the new fixes (intersections/waypoints) for revised approach plates in to a couple airports. It made it seem like this was data you'd get in the GPS and flight planner. Upon inspection, it seems all this data is in BGL format mostly, and that can be extracted and recompiled to reflect new data. I'm a commercially certificated pilot in real life so I've got all the latest charts. I'm wondering how to update approach courses so that they match up with real world current charts. I'm noticing that many airways, runways and localizers among other things, are a few degrees off because the data was obviously compiled back a few years ago. How do I change these things? Do I have to update AFCAD files or what?

I wonder if any owners of the above aircraft might give me any of there thoughts on this aircraft. I know it has been around for a while, but I would like to know if it is worth purchasing. I did hear some one say something about the flight model not being as real as it could be. Thanks for any info. ray

Hi there,I'm really curious as to how the new CLS Airbus is. I'd love to see some VC shots but haven't found any yet. I'm in the market for a good 330 but I'm not quite sure which one is better Overland, CLS, maybe even PSS although a bit dated.I know the CLS includes a "lite" panel and as long as the texture quality is good I don't mind it to be limited and not up to Level-D or PMDG standards.It would be great to hear some comparisons and pictures. This update really makes the aircraft behave much more predictable and stable at speeds below 120 knots down unto final and flare.You also get one more livery!This stuff is gold...I had to check the month and date...I thought it was almost December 25th.... :)MitchBTW, some great lighting and storm activity near and around Chicago today. Took the B300 for a spin from Detroit to Geneva Lake Resort. Landing onto runway 05 was a 'treat' amidst the light, crackle and pop of lightning bursts and rain. Recently I have lost 'SOME' sound in FS9 mainly the ATC which stubbournly remains silent yet is fully functional, additionally engine noise except for props has alos been lost, reinstalled fs9 and all my add-ons with no effect on the problem, A recent update too the main board driver suite may be the cause but cannot estabish why this would be as everything that is installed is registered as fully functional and works in other applications. any ideas would be useful

Have been using FS9 for some time but in the last few days have been unable to go to airports in Western Europe (France, UK, Ireland) and when I try to create a flight in any airport in this area the loading process stops at either 9 or 10% during the 'terrain' phase. The problem accoring to the error message to be submitted to MS is "CDocument~1Ownerlocals~1Temp|WER****.dir00FS9.exe.mdmp", where **** varies each time. Have tried uninstalling all recent addons, restarting, etc, etc, but to no avail. Can anyone help? Airports in all other areas are not a problem.

Greetings all. I have been getting into helicopters in FS9 lately, but I struggle landing them correctly. I get fairly close to my intended landing destination, but when I near the ground I always end up floating backwards, usually a few yards off of the pad. Does anyone have some advice for landing helicopters with a shred of success? Is there perhaps a website or another forum here that might be of assistance? Thanks,-Mike

Hey everyone. With a new video card I can run Cloud 9's KLAX with 100% AI Traffic with just about every AI Package that serves LAX. I use AI Smooth to try and manage the traffic but.......at around 6:30 during rush hour, one plane lands about every 5 minutes. I look in the AI Smooth manager to see what the traffic is doing and about 30 planes are destined for 24R within a 30 nm radius. Meanwhile they all appear like fireflies over KLAX and the surrounding area. My question is , is there anyway that I can configure the AI with any programs to stack the AI aircraft behind eachother on final like in real life. 1 landing every 5 min is a little low imo.
