well, i have that problem for a couple of weeks now and i cannot remember what i did before. Its like when i start my flight, everything is ok but then suddenly it starts to gettin low FPS (down to 10 or less frames p second) then, when i minimize and maximize or change the view, its getting up again to the normal rate. so what the hell is going on there and why do i have to do that to keep my normal rate?edit: this returns from time to time so sometimes i have to do that 10 times and then its ok for rest of flight // normally i have 50fps, doesnt matter which aircraft/scenery)

After many years of tweaking FS9 to perfection, it happened an undetected virus reeked total destruction. New operating systemwas installed and I am trying to locate all me saved files. Is there any one who can help me get ACTIVE CAMERA back. I have files that go back to 2004 with an old reg # but I cannot get it to register. I have e mailed the site but no joy.Joe Cooper

Hey all,I have been having a problem with FS9 recently. It will close with no warning at different times but not all the time and I cant figure out why. I will start a flight and leave come back and FS9 has closed the computer is back to the desktop. However sometimes it will stay open throughout the whole flight. Could AISmooth have anything to do with that? Anyone have this problem? I dont know where to start to try to resolve this problem. I have no other applications running when using FS9 other than AIsmooth sometimes and no power saver options on like a screen saver. Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Hey guys, I've just got FS Panel Studio, for the primary reason that I want to edit a gauge to get the colour right for the panel I want to install it on (the brilliant gauge can be obtained free here from the library). The original colour is a dark Boeing brown, the colour I want is a light grey colour. By editing the bitmaps I got the 'day' colour matching very well with the rest of the panel. I then edited what I thought was the 'night' bitmap by obviously making it a lot darker, and when I went to test it, in the day the colour match with the rest of the panel was perfect, but at night it was totally out. :( At night it simply maintained the 'day' colour and look…

Does anyone know where this can be downloaded now.I don't think it's on AVSim and the PA website seems to have disappeared :(

Hi all, :( I have recently been trying to fly my Overland Airbus series for some time. Everything worked fine but when I start flying the A320 or A319, after maybe about 5 minutes, FS9 crashes and no error reporting appears. Has anybody here bought this yet? I rolled my eyes when they released this, but over the past few months I've become very intrigued. I have Wilco's Citation X, and I love it, but that's their only product with which I'm familiar. What do you think?

Hi everyone.I bought a new PC last August, and run FS2004. The spec I have is AMD Phenom 9550 Quad Core 2.20 GHZ processor, 4GB Ram and 512MB ATI Radeon 3650 Graphics Card with Vista 64bit.The problem I have is that I thought FS would run as smooth as silk with settings at the top, however it is abit a lumpy, especially when going through clouds. I wondered if anyone could give me any advise or tips on how to improve the fps. I also always fly using VC's.Thanks in advance.Dale.

Hello people,I wonder could any of you people help me with a problem im having with my fs2004 installation.I have Reinstalled my OS (Vista 32) and reinstalled my FS2004, i keep getting OOm errors even after short flights. I am using Supranov YAK40 (I know its a fps hog but i like it) and sometimes the pmdg md 11. I have scenery of EGLL, EDDF, And EGCC. My frame rates are passable 20 to 30 with the pmdg (i have it set at 31) and all settings to the right. I am unable to paste my cfg as im in work having dinner. But im having trouble loading textures. It was better before i reinstalled the computer. I split my hard drive into two partitions, one soley for fs. And my page …

I have a question that a fellow Avsim reader may be able to offer some help. I have a friend (who is a licensed A&P machanic) who is interested in learning how to fly. I have offered to help out using FS2004. My question is, is there a program we can use that will allow me to connect to his computer and see what he sees on screen? I know how to connect PC's where we are each in a seperate aircraft flying around, however I dont know a way to connect to the same aircraft.Any help appreciated-GoldWings-

Just wondering if anyone has info on a good Mooney Ovation download......this has to be a great progrm for FS9, but so far I haven't been able to find a realistic model...I know about the Caronado version for FSX, and that has high marks, but not available in FS9 as far as I know............appreciate the info, B42L8

Hi,I have a weard graphic problem with the cloud texture since just a hour. First all was running perfect with FS9.1 Then I started a FS9.1 again and experienced strange clouds... I already copied all original cloud textures back into the FS9 texture folder, but when I start FS9 again this problem is still ongoing.See screenshot!What can cause that?I use latest driver for my Windows XP 64 SP3My hardware is: ASUS M3A78 MoBo, AMD X2 AM2 6000, NVidia 9600GT 1TB, 4GB RAM, Captivia 21" TFT 16:10 widescreen, BenQ 19" TFT 4:3, SAITEK Yoke and Trottle quadrant, CH-Peddals, G15 blue LED keyboard and about every ADDON payware you can get.Regards, Torben

Gidday guys,I've got a problem with my texture that I thought I'd share with you all.I've seen this only a few times, last time was last year and I use my sim everyday.The sim paused for a bit then loaded all this crap, it looks like the bmp files for the aircraft in my hanger, if it helps I just used disc trix ultimate defrag to put the sim on my outer tracks of my hdd, used ud for about 8 months now.Any info would be great.Thanks chapsRegardsPaul Harwood Perth Australia

I'm trying to make my own HALO.BMP in photoshop for FS9 - but when i save it and starts fs9 it shows squares instead of the halo so i guess the bmp save method somehow is wrong. I use 32 bit and check alpha channel. The alpha channel is white in PS CS3.Hope some help here... ;)

I'm looking for an addon program such as Ground Environment to add streets and highways to FS9. Is there one that actually has moving traffic on the roads? Are there any scenery programs that do that besides addon airports?

Hi, i've noticed that the clock in my cockpit never keeps time with the PC's clock, over say 1hr it will loose 5 - 10 mins or so even if I synch FS9 time at the start of the flight.Can anyone explain why this happens.thanks Mark

I look in the c drive under program files and all I can find are loaded game folders. I have FS2004 and FSX loaded and playing but I can't find their folders to extract stuff into them.....I hate Vista!!!

Can anyone suggest what the problem may be here? It's very confusing as I can't pin down the cause.I have an a/c (a b737-300) which seems very 'underpowered' in climb. If I increase the throttles manually, with AT disengaged, N1 increases rapidly, but the increase in speed is too gradual, even at under 1000'/min climb rate (at c.20,000'). If I am at around 270KIAS and I set the AT to on and the desired IAS to, say, 300KIAS, instead of N1 increasing, it goes down and the a/c's speed falls. If I disconnect the A/T and push the throttles forward manually, I get a slow speed increase.In the aircraft.cfg I have set thrust_scalar = 1.25, instead of 1.00, but it doesn't stop the…

Hey guys, Firstly, my apologies if a similar topic to this has been posted elsewhere, I did do some searching but I couldn't find it anywhere and I'm in a bit of a hurry, nevertheless I am sure someone can help me. I am just about to do a clean-up of my FS9 folder and over the months I have gained quite a few left over gauges from deleted aircraft which I no longer wanted for whatever reason. The gauges actually take up a significant amount of hard drive space on the rather small hard drive I have, so I want to get rid of all these unused gauges. I have tried a couple of cleaning programs before, but they all came back with different gauges that could be deleted saf…
