Hi,I know this topic has come up a million times. The thing is, I've searched the whole wide web for people having blurry textures and I've found different solutions everywhere. Trust me, I've tried them all. None work for me.EXTENDED_RADIUS here and there... Nothing works.Aircraft textures and such is fine... It's just the ground textures that are driving me up the wall. Here's my FS9.cfg (the necessary bits):[DISPLAY]UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT=27TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=100TextureMaxLoad=10[TERRAIN]TERRAIN_ERROR_FACTOR=70.000000TERRAIN_MIN_DEM_AREA=25.000000TERRAIN_MAX_DEM_AREA=100.000000TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=21TERRAIN_TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=8TERRAIN_AUTOGEN_DENSITY=5TERRAIN_USE_G…

Hello AllI was wondering if anybody here can explain why on a couple of Posky V4 747s notably Air India latest livery, display there engines textures as a rather horrible pink metallic colour if I have the reflections option checked in FS9 ?If i uncheck that option all engines then match the rest of the aircraft's correct colour.I didn't want to post on Posky site as I don't want my ears ripped of.After a quick look at there support forums I could find no joy there.cheers AndyPS this also occurs with there Atlas Air model as well although I don't think its a natty pink in this case.PPS all textures converted to DXT3 from 32bit

Hi everybody, I am new to the forums and I am going to try to explain this problem the best I can. Just 3 weeks ago the 2004 flight sim version was working perfect, no lags, nothing. A virus got into the pc and wiped out my hard drive. Took care of that problem. Then reformatted a Samsung 1TB HD and reinstalled Windows and put some programs back on including Flight Sim.Here are the specs for my PC. AMD Phenom 9850 Quad Core Processor, 2.51 GHZ, 3.25 GB of Ram on XP Service Pack 3Video Card is NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 512. Used updated drives from NVIDIAI defragged the HD using perfectdisc 10. Then put the game on the hard drive, included the patch, and no cd add on.Now bef…

Hello,Running FS9.1 on Windows XP SP3 standard (no 3GB tweak) on a system with 2GB of memory + 512MB of video RAM, a pagefile.sys file of 4GB, It happen to me to have sometimes the hated OOM error.I read all about these damned OOM errors, in this forum and other places. What I mainly understood, is that OOM will occur as soon as FS9 fail to get memory, because there is no more available memory into the 2GB adressable range for the process. If this is true, why do I get OOM error in the following case ?As you can see, OOM occured when FS was using "only" 865MB, inside a virtual size of 1,655GB. It occured, as usually, during the approach of my destination airport.1,655GB of…

I'm a very happy FSX simmer but for a bit of diversity have been thinking of installing FS2004 again for perhaps mostly airliner usage and leaving FSX for my favourite GA type flying. If I go ahead with this, what add-ons would you Guys recommend? I do own quite a lot from my FS9 days but dont necessarily want to install everything, my FSX install is already close to 100GB but I have another HD with what I feel would be ample space for an FS9 and cr

Hey,I recently got a new PC and everything runs smooth locked at 32FPS for system stability and life. However coming into London Heathrow (UK2000) I got bursts of lag, less than a few milliseconds worth every so often, now It does not take rocket scienctist to work out that its UTE.Is there any other way just to get nightlights similar to that without the lag, becuase its obviously just that scenery thats giving me the lag, becuase it does not happen elsewere, and I get 32FPS while the lag occurs :{Regards,Robbie

When I run ADAWARE 2008 it reported a file in my Flight simulator/FlightScenery folder as malware. The file was rmbfz02. False alarm? If not why not also a file called rmbfz01 that I also have in this folder? Another flightsim related file reported as spyware is FSBuildupdate22.exe.

It has been quite some time since I flew the Captain Sim C-130, so I thought I would give it another try. I also thought I would try to refresh this old memory for a total cold and dark startup. I reviewed the manual briefly, and then discovered the following tutorial: "http://WWW.fsstation.com/tutorials/captain-sim-lockheed-c130-2.html"It is pretty comprehensive, but when I got to the point of starting my engines, 3 and 4 (Right side engines) start up just fine. However, engines 1 and 2 (Left side) totally ignore me. I don't remember having this problem in the long past when I spent some time with this bird.If I am reading correctly, this tutorial is really for the FSX v…

Hi,Erm i'm kinda having an issue with an airport in fs2004. I created them from scratch as fs didn't have them installed, i installed ILS etc with afcad and also installed the ILS AND GPS approach with a software i found on avsim so atc could recognise these approaches. But when i go to make a flight plan, the airport is only listed by its ICAO code, the country, state, city etc arent included. I've tried everything i know so far and nothing has worked. Wheen im playing fs, atc recognises the airport, i can see the airport in the gps and on the map as well...but it just won't show on the airport selection page for flight planning or location changing...sooo confused, plea…

Have had the Simwings scenery for a while. However although the airport scenery works just fine, I've never been ableto make the rock look realistic. Apart from the shape of the rock being somewhat way-off , I also get objects hanging in mid-air. Has anyone managed to get a good relistic look/feel in this senery? If so I'd be interested to know how thiscan be achieved. Thanks

Hi All :( I just thought I would post this reminder in here, as some people seem to forget that FS will start and build the database again and generate scenery indexes due to the time / season change as we enter British Summer Time.Just thought I would remind you so you don't panic when FS does this and start to think "Whats Going On" or "Oh No, Whats Wrong Now"Bring on the Summer :(

I need to purchase a headset with microphone attached and was wondering if any of you who use them already had any advise or opinions about what they find works for them and how good the microphone works for voice recognition. Also how long can you wear them before they bother you if at all. Thanks in advance for any info you can provide............John

I just purchased Overland's Fly Into The Sky Boeing series. After downloading and installing I can not find the planes in the aircraft window of Flight Simulator. The auto setup tells me that the installion was complete but there are no signs of the planes. I am using fs9 version of flight sim and Windows XP. I added Japanese Airports last weekend and had problems seeing the new airport until I reinstalled FS Registry Repair. Any idea's to what I may be missing here. Thanks,

I left a huge list of much-needed AI aircraft texture requirements in the repaint request forum - in case anyone is interested. Each of these requirements matches a flight plan that was uploaded to AVSIM so we really need a whole lot of painting - if you're interested.fb

I'm well into migrating my (massive) FS9 install to Vista Ultimate 64. It's really working out well for me...but in the process I haven't found any good single repository of info on the how-to and whys of the process of moving to a 64-bit OS. I'm starting this thread, not to debate whether one should move from 32 bit to 64 bit, but HOW to make the change, what to expect, challenges, reasoning etc.In my own personal odyssey here, for the last 2-3 years I have had sporadic but recurring bouts of the OOM (out of memory error) Blues, especially with the big complex jets flying into big complex airport sceneries that I like the most. I experimented with 64-bit operating sys…

Hello all,I've had a problem that has been bugging me more and more lately (especially while landing on shorter runways with medium/large planes). After touchdown, for almost all of my aircraft equipped with them, I try to deploy thrust reversers only to have them pop back to ground idle within about 2-3 seconds. Picture a thrust reverser sliding back part way, the engines starting to spool up, then popping back forward.I use a Saitekx X52 with a button mapped to the equivalent of the "F2" key. So, I'll pull my throttle to zero then press and hold the decrease thrust button to engage reversers. I also have "repeat" enabled and believe I have a big enough throttle null…
