I have FS9 on Windows XP with Ground Environment Pro and Active Weather 6 as add-ons. Recently, I tried to disable ground shadows, which were continuously displayed - even in overcast conditions. However, when I unchecked the "Ground Scenery Casts Shadows" box in Display Settings and restarted FS9, nothing changed - I was still getting ground shadows even though the ground shadows box was unchecked. I wonder if the GE Pro or AWv6 add-ons have any involvement in this problem. Can anyone give me some ideas how I can disable the shadows? Thanks!

Okay, maybe I'm missing something here, but I've been trying to get the INS to work in the CLS 747 with no success. It's not helped by the fact that the manual which comes with it is actually for a DC-10 rather than a 747, but since (at least as far as I know) they both had the Delco INS it should be more or less the same procedure. I'm reasonably familiar with the INS on the older 747s, but this one refuses to work.I downloaded the more recent tutorial for the CLS 747 (which does have a bit about the 747 INS), but no matter what I try the alignment procedure will not commence, so I'm wondering if anybody has actually followed either of these guides with any success, or i…

Hi all, I have just installed FS2004 in my computer running Windows Vista.I have a couple of questions, first one is.. When i start to load a flight, minimize FS9, change aircraft, There is a black flicker like i have changed resolution, My monitor and FS9 are running the same resolution, is there a way to stop this flickering?2nd question: After using FS2004 on vista i have noticed, for example when i push ALT and go to FS Passengers and click around on some drop down menus all what i click seems to save itself and pile up, So if i click FS Passengers and then forget that and go to click Time and season, the FS passengers drop down will still be there, Any one have any …

Hey folks, Not normally a long haul flyer but have done a few in a 747's a year or so back and now I thought I would see what is available and give it another go. I have downloaded a POSKY 744rr and have been quite impressed with the level iof detail it has. I have modified the sound which is also good now but when it comes to the panel, seem to be stuck. I think I might end up splashing out on the PMDG version which sounds great all round but I just wonderd in the meantime if anyone has any good freeware (fairly accurate) 747-400 panels?ThanksNick

Hello FolksI hope you can help me with this.I installed my FS2004 on my new computer running Vista Premium 64 bit few months ago.Everything was running smoothly, I could not really complain.However I noticed yesterday that the Active Camera (I have version 2.1) sounds, like running steps in external view, the stress and ground turbulence sound during take-off and landing roll no longer work.I have the sound setting "on" in the Active Camera main menu and the "Play ground turbulence sound" and "Play Head Latency sound" options "on" on the Active Camera "Setup" menu.I did not have installed any additional add-on since I switched from my old XP computer (I always had the FSs…

Hi all,Over the course of several addon installations and setting them up (aircraft, that is), I've found that i have a few badly misconfigured control assignments- fairly complicated through registered FSUIPC. Specifically, it appears Ive got an FSUIPC rudder control assignment that for the life of me- I cant not find. Is there a simple .cfg modification i can make to reset all FS9 assignments and FSUIPC assigments to default so I can start from scratch- this time with a master list?Thanks in advance!!

Hello everyone,Recently I tried to reinstall some PMDG products that didn't go too well. I removed the products, but since that I can't get back into Flight Sim 9 as it crashes just after the caption says "loading weather" during startup. After that, Windows produces an error report that says that there was a fault in Weather.dll. I've gone to the installation disks and replaced the module, but this has not solved the problem. Can anyone tell me what I can try, or if they have run into this problem?Thanks!

G'day I am new to FS2004 and am slowly learning.I am trying to find a tutorial or guide on how to add a static/AI plane in an airport.I don't really need to be able to fly it as I am just using it for display. Hi AllWould someone please be kind enough to consider doing an Overland Simmers sky A321 in Thomas Cook (UK) livery. They have had these since the takeover of My Travel. I think the engines are CFM's.Also, and I know I'm being cheeky with a second request :( but there doesn't seem to be any Overland A320 or 321's in Air Jamaica colours around. Need a favor to help me figger out whats going on.I live in DC. I have DLed REAL WORLD weather. Winds and sky (viz) conditions I download are accurate. HOWEVER, it is NOT snowing and hasnt since 2 weeks ago - yet today I DLed real world weather. There is snow all over DC in the sim but outside the immediate DC area - the ground is clear of snow. Real World weather has had snow falling in DC for the past two weeks. This past Friday is was sunny and almost 70 - viz clear - yet when I DLed wether last Friday - it was snowing. Can someone start a sim at KDCA - download real world weather and tell me if they get the snow?This is driving me nuts !! Thanks !!Savoy06

Help, only my default aircraft are displaying the frequency numbers on their radios. PMDG 737, PIC 737, Airbus Vol 1 deluxe and Level D 767 just show blanks where the frequencies should be. Also, on most of these aircraft, I get blanks where Autopilot variables e.g. ALT, SPEED V/S etc. should be.I have tried uninstalling then reinstalling but nothing. The frequencies change if I "move" the knobs but they just won't display!N :(Edited... HiI have FS9 and use World of AI Traffic, I would like to know, how to alter airline arrival and departure times, for example an airline lands at 0500 local, I want it to land at 0600 instead etc etc.Would be grateful for any info and help.I did try AI Planner, but it would not work.Thanks

I downloaded TVB"Traffic View Board" the other day. I noted that updates v1,v2,v3,v4,v5,v6,v7 and v8 were not available on AVSIM. v9-v16 are available on AVSIM now.Did anyone download these updates before AVSIM stopped posting? Please send me a note. Well for starters I know there was a topic about this somewhere but I'm having difficulties locating it so I'd much appreciate some help here.I've merged the posky 777 with the PSS 777 panel and everything is great all gauges showing up ,all textures, fmc, over head etc. exept my flight director switch will not move on the panel or in vc mode.The autothrottle works and LNAV and VNAV will arm but I cannot arm the A/P without first switching on the flight directorAll the xml controlled parts are working correctly so there is nothing wrong there.Any help would be appreciated.Thank youRichy

First off. All of your replies have been awesome, and have helped me configure FS9 to my liking. However. In the real world, there is never 50 nm visibilities. I was wondering if in the fs9.cfg that max distance could be changed to no more than 20 miles? I scrolled through the cfg file, but I wasn't sure if it could be done. Thanks everyone! I would like to get rid of the annoying green centerline lights on alot of the taxiways and tarmacs that are not really at the airports in real life. I have Lee Swordy's AFCAD but don't seem to be able to remove them when I try. Can somebody let me know what to do. I read the how to, but maybe I just don't get it.

Is there some kind of tweak or mod out there that makes FS's ATC funtion a little more realistic such as declaring emergencies, and diversions.

This maybe as well a hardware related issue i think. In my FS9 it does not change anything to the performance if I crank all the sliders back to minimum, performance stays the same as follows:external view: 20-30 FPS2D cockpit: 10-20 fpsvirtual cockpit: 5-9 fps !!why this? If I crank all the sliders to max, it is the same!! they use to be cranked to max anyway...all this experimenting has been done after a major FS clean-up, deleting aircraft & old sceneries... (mainly photosceneries, they camewithout autogen and looked odd in their surrounding... but this is my personal taste.. I prefer autogen and standard scenery depth, even if I changed almost all textures...) and…
