I in no way know Peter Dowson or am affiliated with his work other than on the user friend, but after finally moving up from the free FSUIPC to the registered with WideFS, I must say I'm impressed! My laptop didn't get much usage other than the occasional school project or vacation trip/long flights. I feel like I've got a whole new toy to play with! Running Squawkbox in Vatsim with Active Sky Advanced, ACARS and FSC in the background proved to bring down frame rates, and was unrealistic and downright annoying, ALT-Tabing out every 10 minutes. Hello,does anyone from You is using LevelD 767 & FS2004 & Windows XP 64 bit and can promise that LDS767 is working OK with XP 64 bits.

I'm not sure if this is an FS2004 issue or my aircraft (Wilco CRJ 900). When I'm fying from time to time my KIAS will drop down to 0, although the gauges will still show accurate mach speed. Even the area that pops up in red for a Shift-Z shows 0.0 KIAS. Then all of a sudden it'll pop back to normal.This just seems odd and I can't for the life of me figure out what is causing it. Hi thereMy problem seems to lie with medium/long haul flights and the sim crashing.This first happened a few weeks ago with the flight1 Md-80 and I blamed the sim crashing on that aircraft.But now this has just happened with the posky/wilco 777 merge from LHR-JFK.When approaching the Boston area (still at a reasonably high altitude) the sim literally just went black for a second or two then closed.No explanation or option to send an error report was given the sim literally just shut down.As i mentioned this just happened with a 777 flight from LHR-JFK and it happened in a flight in an MD-80 from ORD-LGAthese are the only two flights I have done recently but before these …

Hi all. I had a failure of my PC(HDD still OK), and have decided to get a new one. I have been lucky to get one with XP installed. My question is there an easy way to get my many addons both commercial and freeware over to my new PC. It would be a very long job doing all the freeware file by file. Many of you must of bought a new PC at some time what did you do? Sorry if this has been covered before but I cannot get the search to work. Thanks in advance for any advice offered.

I just enabled sharing of my FS9 root folder, and now when I start up fs9, it closes immediately after it loads the welcome screen. What did I do?!

Hi all, at a bit of a loss with this one. Whenever I've tried to start a flight, on some occasions(it only seems to happen with certain aircraft), the viewpoint suddenley looks upwards and gets stuck there, while the aircraft sharply banks to the left. I'm unable to remedy this without restarting the sim. I'm using the Saitek Yoke and Throttle, I've heard of a button press problem with earlier versions of this, but I've been using mine for nearly 6 months without an issues, and it's only happening on certain aircraft. Any ideas?

I'm having a senior moment today, while running SB4 and cruising, I spot an aircraft with a red label...I don't want that...I deselected any traffic in FS9 options (no labels etc) but I don't recall what I need to set in multiplayer option (alt menu while in FS9)...I deselected show labels etc in multiplayer, but do I also select disconnect in multiplayer while running SB4?ThanksRich PerryBTW...thanks to all (especially Bob Scott) for assisting me in transitioning FS9/FSX to a new computer with Vista 64 bit...it's been a steep curve (I was a die-hard XP 32-bit fan), but I think I've got it nailed (except the minor things above). I have downloaded the pmdg md11 and tried to install on my computer but the install wizard says i only have fs9 and i should have fs9.1.0.4091. how do i obtain this??

My video card and all drivers are set up properly. However, whenever I start FS9 it tells me about it using Software 3D and not Hardware Acceleration. In addition, when I go into FS9's display settings, it does not let me choose a device from the dropdown list. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this/

Hi, I've been getting this "FS9 Failed to Read from File Error" message quite regularly now. I get a CTD if I press the button to aknowledge the error, and loos all scenery data from that point on if I attempt to continue the flight without pressing on the little error "OK" button that pops up on a little warning window. I have been taking a look at what triggers this (trying to at least), with a nice little program called Filemon, but since I am not an expert on the subject, I am not sure what to look for. A few things I have been able to notice is that sometimes the error comes as FS9 is trying to access the FS9.cfg or Scenery.cfg configuration files, or at least it s…

Hello all:Are any of you pilots using the Aerosoft FS Map? Does it work with PMDG and LevelD aircraft? If it does work is it a benefit or does it lower frame rates etc?

When FS2004 is loaded and I start flying it only last for 20 seconds. Then the computer hang/freeze for another 10/20 seconds and then the flying goeson for 20 seconds. stops again and so on. Can somebody tell me please how to solve this problem ? Thank you in advance.

I've asked this question when PFE had their support forums here (pre-AVSim tank), but no one could ever seem to replicate the issue. How many of you use PFE and have ATC misdirect you to a runway where the other end is in active use?For example. KDEN has 34R and 16L on the same strip. PFE directed me to 34R and not more than 30 seconds later directed another ac to 16L. #####? I was told I shouldn't have to X runways, but looks like that's what it'll amount to to get PFE to work right..

Hi all,I'm returning to the FS9 forum after several months of beating my head against a wall trying to make FSX work for me with Win7. Before the upgrade from Vista x64 to Win7 x64, I had finally achieved a fairly consistent 15-60 fps depending on the area, but since Win7 seems not to handle FSX very well, and I'm not willing to give up all of the benefits of Win7 for the headache of Vista, I've decided that FSX just isn't worth the trouble just yet (something sad to say considering I've got a hot rod system which should be perfectly capable of running FSX at blazing speeds... thank you very much MS for this...) and that I will be going back to FS2004.
