My default start up aircraft was an MD-11 NWA, I had to uninstall it due to some problems with fs2crew. Now when I go to start FS2004 it crashes to desk top because there is an initialization problem with default aircraft which is no longer present. How do I get around this in order to get FS2004 running again? Tom Helwick aka dc9man

The Avsim Library seems to be unavailable. It has been very slow lately but is now inaccessable.Any ideas regardsMike

I have a new issue where I'm in the middle of a flight and flightsim shuts down and goes to straight to the desktop without any error messagesAnyone have any suggestions on a patch to fix this? I really don't want to re-install FS9 again :(

Ok, Ive had this problem a half dozen times on the XP machine. I never could remember how to fix it, but I would check this forum and find the answer. Now it is happening on my Vista machine and for once, I remembered the old fix, but no joy this time... Figures.I cant see the MP aircraft on Vatsim. They and ATC see me, but I dont see them. Even on the FSNavigator, I see my target but no one else, despite hearing them callout on freq. Ive checked the MP in FS to make sure it is connected. That was the problem on the XP machine. Ive checked the compatibility boxes for the EXE file in Vista. That didnt do the trick. I turned off the firewall as well... No joy.What else?Chri…

I have installed the A300-600 by HNAC. It looks a fine plane and their cockpit looks nice too, and what's more, it's all freeware.Still the plane is somewhat unflyable in Autopilot mode. The manual is not clear (obviously written by people whose native language isn't English), so I tried to get help in their forum. Since I didn't find answers to my questions in the existing posts, I wanted to register to post myself. Trouble is, I am still waiting for the reply to my registration. Although I have set them all on in Settings Traffic in FS2004, the User aircraft label is missing ie Shamrock 112. The other 5 do show up though.Please can anybody help me with resolving this?

I'm trying to track down a freeware motor glider I used to love flying, but I don't remember what it's called and would really appreciate any help finding it.I seem to recall it had a name similar to "arienne," but I could be totally off. In addition to the main vc, it comes with a second vc that also shows the pilot's body--the pilot happens to be wearing blue jeans.If things rings a bell with anyone, please let me know.Thanks,Charlie

Well I must've just crawled out from under a rock I guess but just read on the PMDG forum that the J41 they are producing is for FSX only and this could possibly lead to the new NG also only being for FSX only :( Thats a bummer along with LevelD only making a 757 for FSX, Flight1 it seems has compeletly stopped making addons for FS9 it seems to me but I could be wrong; it looks as if our FS9 days of addons are dwindling down. I'm not really sad because for a while there I was buying more addons than I could enjoy now I suppose I have a chance to really get into each one in depth without looking over my shoulder to another one.I will continue to fly FS9 as in these day…

I've been simming for 10 years now and since about 2002, have been dreaming about a great rig with all bells and whistles. I spent years learning FS, flying props and jets, mastering cfg files, edits for engine and fuel performance, NavDash (remember that one?!), FS Navigator (love it to death!), PSS, the FMC, Level-D, PMDG, etc. Years, literally. I got much of it down very well. Hi, i just installed fs2004 on vista, and when i am on fs2004's main startup screen where you can select aircraft etc.. If i minimize that for something and try to get back to FS2004 it won't maximize again, Please help me so i can maximize it again after doing so.

HeyI've been flying with the smaller jets for quite a while now and just moved over to the bigger ones (a340 and md-11).Everything is going really well, BUT, in the a340/md-11 checklist it says that the landing speed should be 145-150 knots.Well, I manage to keep the speed att that but it results in a mega flare which doesnt look nice :S.Infact I personally land much smoother and better with 165-175 knot approach..Am I doing something radically wrong, or is everything as it should?After all, when I look at real a340 and md-11 landings on youtube they dont seem to flare very much at all..In my case to kep the 145-150 knot speed I cant see anything out from the cokpit so I …

Anybody know if there is a Posky CRJ-700v3 in the house livery? I didn't see one on the Posky site and I couldn't find one in the AVSIM library last time it was up. I have one for their CRJ-900 and I think that there isn't one for the CRJ-200. I often prefer flying in the house livery if possible and if I cannot find one, I try to find a good bizjet paint to use.

Hi all. I've tried twice now, but it appears that installing Cyberlink Power Director 7 (video editing software) causes FS9 to refuse to start up. I get the FS9 splash screen, but then after a few seconde is disappears and the sim doesn't launch. I did a system restore and FS9 worked fine. So I created a system restore point and again installed Power Director. And again, I have the same problem right away. FS9 was the first thing I tried to run after installing Power Director, so I know it's not something other than Power Director conflicting. Hello all,I just built a new cpu and it really isn't doing better then my old AGP card(7800 GS). I have a load of aircraft's and scenery installed but even at LGA 2004 I can only pull off 16 FPS while looking out the side of the cockpit. I recently installed some blueprint scenery's and run around 22-35 FPS. Now when I installed FTL 2008 and MCO 2008 I'm in the 30's-60's with frame rates. I go to Paris and and with all those aircraft there I can still get in the 50's-60's but when go to FRF ATL can only squeeze out 16-22 FPS. Hello all...It may be clear enough form the title and description, butI'll give it a little more clear:when launching FS-9, it is synchronized to actual local time. It means that if I change my departure airport somewhere else it will apply timezone changes. this could be just fine, if it didn't start at the default Takoma Intl. with the cyurrent local time. It want it to start there with the current TAKOMA time, and not the one here in italy. This means that if I then move my position to Italy, I don't get the current local time, but a timezone-altered one, just in a way it shouldn't be. Having been somewhat disappointed recently with WIlco/Feelthere's Airbus v1 and v2 series, but having liked the ERJ-145 and also the B737 classics, I was wondering about the E-Jets (EMB 170/190). My CH Rudder Pedals toe brakes have stopped working in FS9 but they work in FSX. In FS9 when I depress the pedals the brake comes on permanently and does not disengage. Anyone have a solution?ThanksShez

Hello,I have a rather strange problem I hope someone can help me with. Recently I moved my FS2004 installation to a new machine (by installing FS, updating and then copying over the original folder onto the new install). All is working just fine except I cannot activate the brakes with my joystick or keyboard. The joystick button and default "." keys are mapped correctly in the assignments but nothing happens.Interesting is the fact I have CH pedals attached and they WORK FINE! No problem with the toe brakes only Joystick and Keyboard.Any ideas would be much appreciated.Thanks B.
