OK guys heres the deal. I can fly VFR and ILS approaches etc. I am in the process of learning how to fly the 737-800 also the SIDS and STARS. I have the above freeware and read the manuals. But I struggle to understand how to work the FMC in a flight. I understand the SIDS and STARS a little but integrating the vasFMC into a flight I struggle. What would be your recommendation of tutorial or video that would teach me how to use these properly. Does the FMC do everything? What won't it do? Thanks in advance for your helpRegards Steve

I came across a neat little program that externally limits FPS in Flight Simulator, and it works much better than the internal limiter. Leave the program in it's own File, start the program, and select your Fs9.exe. Limit the Frames to your desired and start the newly created .bat file. Inside Flight simulator set your frames to unlimited and there you go! http://rapidshare.com/files/205205148/FPS_Limiter_0.2.rarAs always, this may or may not work for you...

Anybody using this? The manual that comes with the panel does a good job of explaining the systems in technical terms, but it doesn't give a step-by-step guide to doing things.The main thing I'm having trouble with is getting the external power to hook up. Parking brakes are on at the gate, but the AVAIL light on the ground power switch doesn't light up. When I press it, it flases "on" for a few seconds and then goes out.Does anyone know how to do this? Or better yet, does anyone have a tutorial flight or something like that?thanks

Can't add other cockpit panel, the vapour trails and condensation over wings keep on when the lights are on. The afterburner doesn't work either.Does this have anything to do with the Strike Eagle installed? And the panel for the IRIS F-15 Eagle from www.flightsim.com doesn't work either :( , just has the template picture....showing up instead of the panel.I have deleted the Strike Eagle, but does the Eagle have any problems with the Strike Eagle? My Eagle or Striuke eagle is an "old" one. I have put the patch fro Eagle on and deleted the Strike Eagle.

The merge on www.flightsim.com doesn't work even with the update.So how do I merge the PSS panel into the Captain Sim aircraft?Does Block F make the "Navaids, Waypoints and ARPTS" show up on the HSI thingi?

I just can't get the ILS on ANY of the runways to show anything, no LOC and no G/S. Is there anything that can do done about this as it's such a nice scenery. Does anyone have a list of the ILS frequencies for all the runways just so I can see if it's FS giving me the wrong freq. or something like that?Andy S

Just wondering if anyone else experiences stutters when using MegaScenery Southern California and Cloud9 KLAX? I know that any responders are going to ask for the FS9.cfg setting so I've included the settings that I'm currently using below. Please note that I've tried everything from reducing and increasing TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT to an incremental increase in the UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT from 24FPS to unlimited. The attempts were done at different LOD levels and since FS9 can only display 38m mesh, (allegedly), I've finally settled on it. Most other sceneries accept that LOD level with no issues. Has anyone seen an afcad that's designed for use with MAIW's Hickim C-17 package and Lago's PHNL v2.10? I've always liked the Lago PHNL the best so I went ahead and removed all of the references to the static aircraft in the PHNL_libs.bgl file. The stick figure F-15e's and Galaxy's no longer appear in Hickim side of PHNL but the parking is a bit funky with the MAIW afcad. (I'm being lazy and don't want to redo an entire afcad). If anyone has one and is willing to part with it, or, could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. Although, I'd almost imagine that it would be to the Avsim library :)Please advise and thanks!Mark

firstly I know there is now a separate forum for PFE and I am currently trying to resolve problems with their help.Initially i was attracted to this programme by its presentation and the quality of voices etc etc. But since downloading it I have had nothing but problems. For example waiting minutes for a response to a key press. After initial clearance I get no response at all so I have to taxi and take off at my discretion. Thereafter changing to a departure frequency manually. No calls to climb or descend no clearance to land. I have to say I'm quite disaffected. It cost a lot of money and what I get is very hit and miss. It is not an intuitive programme.My system is no…

Shift+z dropped off my FS9.cfg, can someone please provide the .cfg line for it (under [Keyboard Main] I reckon. Not sure exactly what the mapping title is, but Shift+Z provides present position data plus frame rates.Thanks!Rich Perry

Just wondering if there is a good KMCO Orlando Intl Airport out there either payware or freeware for FS9. I tried the Simflyers version but the FPS are terrible on my high end spec machine.They drop from 60 to around 20 !Best Regards,ChrisEGBB

Hey guys, A few days ago, my sim quit loading. As soon as I try to start the sim, it appears in the system monitor but goes away after about 5 seconds. I get no error message. So I started all over and fresh installed. The default setup (no ai and no scenery) worked fine. Added Cloud9 KORD and it worked fine. Added FSGenesis mesh and still worked fine. Started to add AI but never started the sim. So today I finished installing AIG's United Airlines and went to start the sim to check my progress. Back to square one, the sim won't start. Any thoughts?

I have a C2D 6850 running at 3.0. Nvidia 9800GT 512 card. 2 gigs of ram, Win XP machine. I have optimized it by following Nick N's guide to the letter, and maintain it as prescribed.Recently, I not have the return of major stutters that occur mostly on turns. I cannot figure out why this has happened and wonder if anyone can provide a suggestion. I don't really change much on my computer, although I do update to the most recent FSUIPC and video drivers.Mark.

Wowser! I leave for half a year or more and when I come back and the place got a face lift!.Anyhow. I am just wanting to say hello to all of yall. I finally talked myself into building a new rig.I have already tried FSX... then uninstalled it. well, not the same day, like 3 weeks later. I got tired oftrying to tweak it so I could use third party planes n things.So going back to FS9. How to merge the CLS A330 model and CLS A340 model with the PSS panel?I have merged the POSKY PSS A340, but don't like the A330 as the white strobe lights are above the wings on the ground...(I know, i'm fussy)Any ideas? I just purchased the boeng pack from overland but I cant figure out how to install it. Where should my directory be, the main fs9 folder or the fs9/aircraft folder? Ive sent it to both those areas and all I found was a foler called wboeing.The information inside contained many things with one bieng a cabinet folder with all the aircraft information inside but that led me no where. Hello,For the FS9 Default Garmin 500.While FS9 was running I clicked on "Help" and took the screenshot on the left.All data is shown a normal font.The screenshot on the right my FS9 Garmin.The map view (not shown) has normal font for waypoints etc.I have Italic Font elsewhere.Like on the left side WPT, BRG, CTS etc as shown.Is this "italic font" correct or did I get my fonts messed up?
