I'm just going through the slow process of reinstalling FS9 with all of my addons, and I'm having some problems with the Imaginesim airports.I have installed all of their airport sceneries and on some of them I appear to be missing the ground texture, with the default landclass textures showing through. I have attached a pic of one of the problem airports (KDEN) to illustrate what is happening. I have FS Genesis mesh, Ultimate Terrain USA and Ground Environment Pro 2 installed.I have installed the IS sceneries using their installers, and allowed the installer to add the relevant entry to my scenery.cfg. I have also installed the updates for the airports from their website…

Hello all,I noticed when I install the same panels on different types of Posky 757's sometimes the VC remains on when I toggle left or right, others don't. I tried deleting the VC file and now my planes wont show up. On the the other hand, when I remove the bit textures it will eliminate some of the cockpit but not all of it. Any help with this will be appreciated....JT

I seem to recall that in FS2002 I was able to designate a gate as my origination point when starting a VFR flight. Could be wrong. That enabled me to practice using ground control to direct me to the active rwy. I am, after all, a complete newbie and need repetition to hammer procedures into my skull.I haven't found a way to do that in FS9. Is it necessary to make my flight IFR to get ground control to work for me?Thanks, Mudhen

Hi,I have been having a problem that I hope someone can help me solve. I get good frame rate while flying but every once in a while the frame rate goes to a slide show. The sim itself doesn't seem to stutter, just the graphics. It seems worse if I have just changed direction but is not limited to that. It also looks like I get harddrive hits when it happens. I have tried putting FS in its own partion both on the main drive and a separate drive. Even tried a new SSD but it didn't help.Any ideas?My System:ASROCK 929 Dual-VSTAAthlon64 3800+X22G RAM PC3200 (512M x4)ATI Radeon 3870 512M PCI-EOlder Creative SB16 Sound Card

Hello all. Although I'm not an owner of any of RXP's GNS series, I'm seriously contemplating purchasing the 530W/430W. I'm trying to set these aircraft up like the real aircraft I fly so I may practice approaches and that all important Garmin button "smashing". The biggest wish is to have the GNS 430 in the 172/182RG's VC, and the 530 in the Arrow's VC. What's the easiest way to place the unit in the VC? I want the layout of the panel to be the same as the aircraft I fly.

Are the ATCs in FS9 using any real world SID and STARS flight paths?I'm inclined to think that they maybe using a very limited, but it is very limited. I like to use the game's ATC, but I'm beginning to desire more realistic use of SID and STAR in my departures and arrivals. I just installed IE8 and the AVSIM home page is now blank except for the payware links at the top and the links for the various site options. I can get to the forums page, which is obvious since I'm writing this, but all the news and headlines on the home page do not appear. At the bottom appears the word done, then after a few seconds a message come up indicating a connection problem. Since this only happened after the IE8 install, is there a way to fix this or just revert back to IE7?Thanks for the help.Jim D.P.S. Couldn't determine if another forum was better, so I put it here.

Sorry if this topic's been addressed, but a forum search did not turn up any answers.Is there any way in FS9 and/or FSX to force an aircraft to load with a specific fuel load, (not including addons with fuel/cargo planners)? I have a few a/cthat load with 100% fuel in all tanks, which is not very realistic. The [fuel] section of the aircraft.cfg file controls the maximum capacity of the tanks; I'm wondering if there's a variable or string somewhere that can be changed so the a/c loads with a predetermined amount in each tank. Yesterday I noticed I lost my keyboard main settings while in FS9...so I backed out and checked my FS9.cfg...which confirmed that...so I deleted FS9.cfg and restarted FS9...which built a new FS9.cfg and the keyboard main settings were back. So today, I enter FS9 and attempt to pan with my joystick, and you guessed it, joystick not working. I went to the alt menu and loaded joystick assignments back, and it works. Not sure what's causing this strange behavior. I recently upgraded computer and O/S. Running Vista 64 Ultimate.Other than that, FS9 is smoking on the new system.Also, just out of curiousity, are there any settings I need to make so that FS9 recognizes more R…

Hello. Hopefully one of you can help me with something here.Can anyone tell me if it's possible to rebuild the scenery.cfg file while still retaining all of the entries? In other words, I would rather not have to add all of my scenery addons again one-by-one. I think I might be having an issue with this file and am hoping there is a way to do this somehow.Any advice would be appreciated.Thanks!

Hi: My FS9 which i have been running forever somehow will not turn on due to the error message of no virtual memory. I googled this problem and I know its happened to a bunch of simmers. I have tried all the suggested remedies with no change. I went in to the advanced properties to change the page file info. Still did not work. I changed a line by adding some additonal info using notepad. Still did not work. I downloaded smart close to close any not needed programs, still will not work. If anybody has any other suggestions please let me know. Also and I do not know if this matters: I have a ton of payware and freeware loaded with payware AI as well as additional WoA AI. T…

A friend of mine gave me a cd today with a traffic program named SKAI Traffic and I can't find much information on it. It appears in a bunch of torrents but is directed to a Wingz of Silence web site that doesn't have any information about it.Is this a good AI package and OK to install in FS9?Mark

So, I bought Vista 64 recently (mainly to prevent that problem with out of mem errors with add-on planes landing in add-on sceneries) and did a fresh install of my OS. Thus, I will need to do a fresh install of FS which got me thinking...I know talking about the switching to FSX is like beating a dead horse..but I feel it is something that has to be re-visited since things are constantly changing. For me, it has been AES becoming FSX compatible and ACES closing.So, Fs9'rs, what's your opinion? I have lost the state of Mass and can't seem to get it back. What do you think is wrong and what could cause the error?The state is still there, the airports are not listed in the state, even though they show up in TTools airports and in FS9 if you look up city?Suggestions?Thanks

To all, It's nice that the MODs are always trying to help, that's for certain and I'd like to thank them personally. But I'd like an opinion on what should be done with an authors content. I've tried for weeks to fix this but failed..... hopefully someone has a cure.....I have always flown in full screen mode but have recently experimented with windowed mode due to a multi monitor home cockpit build and undocking etc.I am experiencing this ripple effect on ground textures while in windowed mode (full screen is fine) most obvious when banking the aircraft.I use Fs global,Ge pro,and this ripple effect is worldwide ,I've disabled both of these to no effect. Everytime I start squawkbox from within FS9, I get the standard dialogue box etc, then I connect, and within the connect box, I get all the saved stuff, like ID/password, callsign etc, but I also get a strange string of symbols after each line of text...for example, callsign will be AWE2579 and then have strange binary symbols after so that it looks like: AWE2579~!"}, aircraft will be A333&*(~! etc. I manually delete the characters then connect and it runs fine. However, each time I reenter FS9 and click to start squawkbox, I get the same symbols showing up.I've tried to uninstall/delete all of squawkbox, then reinstall, but they still show up. What is the correct procedure for liftoff and climbout when an engine on a multi-jet like the 747-400 fails right after V1 or during rotation? I've been experimenting today, but don't know if I've been doing exactly the right thing. I start by kicking opposite rudder and then preparing to turn the aileron into the failed engine to balance things out for a level aircraft. Is this basically correct in theory? Appreciate any guidance, thanks!JS

So I just found a link to a program that edits the approach paths in FS9 ("FS9 Facility Editor" which should be on avsim) based on the PMDG cycles. It works great, but I'd like to find out how to use the new RNAV approaches in my flights. I'm guessing I need an FMC for this. Right now, I'm not into doing payware, so would using iFly's FMC work using a panel merge?Essential questions with needed answers:-How to fly RNAV approaches?-Do I need an FMC?-Can I use iFly's FMC gauge in a panel merge?Any answers greatly appreciated!
